- Q: Because I live in aus and the temperatures range from *lowest 6-10C winter* and highest around 36C in summer, with no dramatic weather usually, would a horse the is kept out in a paddock all its life **pleasure horse** need such rugs like winter and summer etc? (if it was clipped or didn't have a nice big fluffy coat))thanks.
- I'm English , but understand the weather in AUS . A horse that is clipped out , will certainly need a rug during the winter . Even thoroughbreds with a full winter coat are actually better without a rug , your temperatures are not so cold . Rain is an important factor , that can seriously harm their skin . From your temperatures , I guess you to be in Victoria , where they have heavy rain , sleet and snow . I imagine you to be riding daily , or as often as you can . Keeping them clean is another factor , you don't want to waste your time scraping the mud off them . I recommend a Rambo New Zealand rug , if you can get one ; they never shift no matter how much rolling . My big Thoroughbred had one with a net lining , it better not to coddle them too much .
- Q: I have a carpet shampooer machine and my carpet has lots of embedded dirt and dog urine and soda stains. What product would give me the best results?
- Get a couple of new vacuum cleaner bags so the most dirt possible will come out before you shampoo. Be sure to rinse twice after using detergent to clean the carpet. I hope your machine has a way to suck up the maximum amount of water. Mildew can form very quickly in damp carpets. Try to get this job done while the humidity is still low and the furnace is running, and use exhaust fans to speed up the drying process.
- Q: Is there some kind of carpeting that won't collect dust deep within its root? We're going to have most of our carpeting changed to laminate because I have HORRIBLE dust allergies, but we want to keep the carpeting in the living room and dining room. Is there some kind of hypo-allergenic carpeting?
- You'll be doing your allergies a major favor by removing wall-to-wall carpeting and replacing it with hardwood or tiled floors. If you don't have the option of removing carpets, what can you do? Vacuum, vacuum, vacuum!
- Q: I don't have the cash to rent a rug doctor. I have a large white rug in my living room and I guess from walking around the house with no socks on, there is a 2'x6' area that is darker than the rest, along with a few stains from spilled drinks.I have a bottle of some carpet cleaning foam with a cheap scrubber on the end but it's just too small to cover that large of an area.So I'm thinking a bucket and a rag might be the best option. I have since bought a small bathroom size mat over the area my feet go on but I'd like to clean it still. So maybe a bucket of warm water with a dab of dishwashing liquid detergent? Or some baking soda?I also don't want to get so many suds in there to where I have to keep scrubbing with a rag and water only 5-10 times to get all the cleanser out.Any ideas?
- If okorder . Carpeting is an expensive investment, you should take care of it. Dishwashing soap normally is colored, these dyes can redye your carpet if you administer it in the cleaning process. Use only clear or white dish soap if you are bold enough to try this your self. The bottom of your socks is probably where the dirt is coming from. Keep a pair of slippers available, preferably without black hard foam soles, and wear them inside the home.
- Q: I need help removing odours from our carpet. We're renting at the moment and the carpet was pretty grubby when we moved in but we've cleaned it up a fair bit with a wet/dry vaccuum cleaner. We've had a litter of puppies recently though and as puppies do, they've had a few accidents on the carpet. The carpet now has a urine smell in it and I'm trying to get rid of it but not sure what to use. I've tried using teatree/eucalyptus oil, and a few carpet cleaners. They work removing the stains but not the smell. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
- I really hate to say it but with urine, you are in for the long haul and will eventually rip the carpet up. I have tried everything. I don't know why urine is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO incredibly pervasive but it won't go away. You can steam clean the spots up, but the urine is way, way down at the floor line, and when the cleaning water begins to dry up, the reconstituted urine will simply wick back through the carpet fibers and start the whole process over again. OTC remedies are a waste of money and DO NOT work.
- Q: how do you clean a cowskin rug?
- Take it to a reputable fur leather cleaner.
- Q: How can the wood floor urine stains be removed?
- Rinse the urine stains immediately with clean or soda water. In about 1 liters of warm water, add 1/2 teaspoon liquid tableware detergent or laundry detergent and 1 tablespoons of ammonia water, the fabric will be soaked in mixed liquid for 30 minutes. Next, flush with water. If urine stains are not left, place them in a mixture of warm water (about 1 liters) and white vinegar (1 tablespoons) for 1 hours. (in cotton, pitted material on the use of vinegar should be particularly cautious.) Rinse with water and dry. If the urine stains are still there, try to apply alcohol on it, then brush lightly (i.e., brushing the surface with a brush to clean the surface of the contaminated fabric or other material). Do not apply pure alcohol on acrylic or denatured acrylic fiber. Dilute one portion of alcohol with two water. When the urine stains begin to loosen, suck the liquid and urine stains with suction pads. To keep the water pad and urine stains are soaked with alcohol, water absorption pad urine stains after adsorption, it should be replaced. Finally dry the fabric.
- Q: Ok So Im Gonna Be Shampooing MY Carpets Tomorrow And I Dont Have any Carpet Cleaner Is THere Any Thing Else I Can use??
- If the carpet is fairly clean you can use just plain water. It won't leave any soapy residue that will eventually attract dirt. If there are spots, clean them first with Carpet Science, an S.C.Johnson product. You'll be very happy with the results.
- Q: i have to write a paper about the prayer rug what can i write about need help, thanks
- well for starters there is no such thing as a muslim prayer rug... its just a prayer rug used by muslims... islamically its okay.. BUT, if a person doesn't want to use one, all they have to do is put something in front of where there head will land in sujood so that people know they're praying and don't pass in front of them, and they're good to go! also they CAN have intricate designs.. unless of course you have ADD or ADHD and can't keep your focus for too long and your mind drifts away to the geometric prints lol...
- Q: I own a cell phone store and my carpets are a mess. I'm trying to save money because stanley steemer wants around $200. I thought about renting the rug doctor for $20 from the local grocery store. Would it work well for commerical grade thin grey carpet that has some dirt, road salt, and grease in it from the several customers that walk on it every day?
- Do not use bleach or laundry products on your carpet. Any soap residue left in the carpet fibers will become a sticky dirt.soil magnet. No pro any where in the world would ever consider using a bleach on a carpet. There are numerous company's that make and distribute products just for the purpose of cleaning residential or commercial carpet. Rug Doctor machines have about one tenth the vacuum power found in a typical truck mount machine, this is important when it comes to extraction. The truck mount will also provide super hot softened and citric acid treated water to the carpet. Something you can not do with a do it your self machine. Rug Doctor soap also is treated with a optical brightener, an additive not used by a professional cleaner. It is there to fool you into thinking the carpet is cleaner than it actually is. Clean your carpets on a regular basis, it probably should be done 2 or 3 times a year. Deduct the costs as a business expense.
