Q: We have a large carpet that we want to cut and lay over our cream one (to save it as we have a two year old) The carpet WILL fray and become untidy and we have heard that it will cost 80p per 12 inches to get it 'overlocked' or is it called 'binding' (the edges sewn up so it doesnt fray) and we just cant afford it as the measurements are 16 feet x 9 feet = ?40 (odd)... Ive done a little research and have come across 'double sided carpet tape' (?) also I see something else 'GLUE'.. that can be used. Does anyone out there know how we would do it... the tape AND glue (?) Can someone give me step by step instructions or directions on how to stop this carpet from coming undone and fraying. Q: We found a really nice area rug in a storage but it somehow got wet and moldy, can it be cleaned? I have it laid out outside to completely dry out, would a carpet shampooer clean it, is there anything special I should use?: 1. remove the excess moisture by running a wet/dry vacuum over the problem spots. 2. sprinkle some powder laundry detergent onto the infected spots. 3. clean the problem area with a mixture of liquid laundry detergent and water using a clean towel. 4. wipe clean with a damp clean towel

Q: What are the best products or methods I can use to remove the stains my my white carpet in my new apartment? Some of the stains are from pets and some of the other stains are just drinks and other liquids that stained.: Resolve High Traffic Foam , This stuff works good on many things , like My dad is a mechanic and I have white carpet and he wore his work boots in the house and had grease tracks all over and where he sit down and scrubbed his feet back and forth I just knew the carpet was ruined , but I used the Resolve High Traffic Foam , and It made the carpet the original color it was when we got it , so then I ha to clean the rest of it ..That is how good that it worked for me .This also cleaned stains from where my cat got sick and had bad diaerea Also baking soda works good at removing stains , You mix three parts baking soda with one part water (adjusting for consistency ) you want it tobe a thick paste but be able to spread it over the stain , and then with a brush scrub it and add more if needed , It may take more than once but It does work just not as good as the other stuff above , Once you have removed the stain you need to clean and rinse , just wipe it up with a rag , and rinse and repeat , What baking soda that you did not get up once dried will come up when vacuumed

Q: We have a wall-to-wall berber carpet, and we want to make it into a smaller area rug (perhaps 9'7quot; x 11quot;). Has anyone done this sort of thing before? Thats strange.. Look further, when I had my store we had a place that picked up and dropped off our carpet we needed to have bound or surged..It was a week turn around time for us. But to answer you question yes you can have a pc done any size , shape or form. Some additional options are a felt backing sewn on as an anti slip mat.Surging ran our custumers about 2.5 $ a l/f. and binding was $2.00 a l/f.. Of course this can vary but it ll put you in the ballpark , price wise.. Some carpet guys have a binding machine to bind edges for when they do a carpet base like a lot of hotels use instead of a wood base.Any flooring questions you can e mail me through my avatar.. GL.

Q: We are going to have our 3 year old carpet stretched. We also need to have it professionally shampooed. Which service should we have done first?: Have it shampooed first. The moisture will sometimes (rarely) make the carpeting or padding shrink or expand. Wait at least a week after cleaning to schedule a carpet stretcher.

Q: It's dark brown colour, the carpet is nearly brand new!!Any sensible ideas on how to get it out?Thanks.: I dont think you can get it out unfortunately . hair dye is pretty much permanent.

Q: I have a 95 Chrysler Lebarron Convertible and it's in very good condition but the carpet needs to be replaced. Is this possible?: yes you can replace the carpet in any car but the older cars are alot easyer to replace all you have to do is take the seats out and lift the old carpet out and when u buy new carpet make sure you get the write one for that car hope this helps good luck

Q: when every i take my cover off my horse it lets of static electric zaps. (you know like if you shuffle along the floor then tap some one and it lets of this zap) but its not small zaps they are very loud, you can hear them crackle from meters away if you move the cover, but they are also EXTREMELY painful!! (It left me with welts all up my arms!) i can hardly hold it because of this (it only dose it when i take it off) and im starting to worry if it may be hurting my horse as well as me, So how can i stop this? Or spray the inside of your rug with static guard. Or both.
