Q: My knock sensor has been acting up and i replaced it about a week ago.anyone help?(BTW) im 15 my uncle gave me his old car that wasn‘t working and I‘ve been fixing it up (i know how because i live in a Hispanic neighborhood and I‘ve learned a lot from my neighbors, they sometimes help me out.)Also my transmission has been rubbing the ground a bit, any ideas how i can lift my car up at home?
Your already in good shape. Just keep learning and driving the way I did. But I didn't start until I was 22 years old, so you've got a headstart! Make sure to take some shop courses in your high school to get a good job. That's what I did. I took electricity courses and became an electrical engineer. Keep going to school as long as you can.
Q: FIRST CAR??????ok.should i go with a truck or suv that i can put lifts on and offroad with or should i get a
if you do go with a lifted 4x4. get something that is fullsize and has a V8 engine. then if you do get into an accident you wont get hurt. and also once you master driving a big huge powerful vehicle. little commuter cars are easier to drive. dont worry about what it might look like. just get something reliable like a GMC jimmy, chevy blazer, chevy suburban, ford bronco. get a fullsize and get huge bumpers that will protect you.
Q: Car lift machine is born and how to slide down
You can contact a person who asked you to lift the lift machine! Lift is not the best thing to find professionals
Q: Hi, I need car lift from International City to Green Community in Dubai Investment Park (DIP). My office timings are 9.00 - 6.00.Thanks in Advance.
A local towing outfit is your best bet for lifting your car.
Q: Lifting machine side of the insurance stuck, how maintenance?
Should be a hydraulic system problems, it is best to check it.
Q: I have a 2000 black acura TL. I‘m having trouble getting my car to start and there is absolutely no problem with my battery I just need a new starter will it need to be lifted or can I get a mechanic to come replace the starter???
if he needs to get under the car he can bring a floor jack and stands not a big deal really most starters are under the car on bottom of the engine
Q: I have a ‘07 Scion tC, and when it was new the hatchback lifted very easily when I opened it. Now it only opens about halfway before I have to push it up manually. I guess the mechanism that does the lifting needs cleaning or lubricating or re-pressurizing, but I‘m not sure if it‘s something I can do myself or if I‘d have to take it to a mechanic. How can I get it to lift like it did when it was new?
Buy new gas struts. Those are the little shock absorber looking rods on either side. They usually pop apart or off, and you put new ones in. Yes it might be a bit early for them to wear out, but car makers buy stuff like that on bid. The one who can supply them with a half million parts the cheapest is who the buy from. SO replacing them with a nice OEM aftermarket pair should make it better than new or at least as good as. If they wore out that fast they were likely pretty cheesy. Oiling these might work for a little while, but it can attack the seals and allow more of the charged gas to escape. It also makes dirt stick and that will wear out the seals too. SO just go buy a couple Easy Lift or other brand of replacement gas lift struts. Usually all you need is a screw driver to replace them. Its one of the easiest things to replace. Unless a hinge got warped this will work very well, and it will be like it was when the car was new. These went out pretty quick on GM cars, and the replacements seemed to last longer than the originals on my station wagon. They call those crossover SUVs now. Station Wagon is too uncool to sell in today's market. I played guitar in a band so it canceled out the uncool factor. All the use those lift struts got opening and closing that hatch back 15x a day or more they wore out pretty quick. I think they just pop off and a clip holds them on a little ball on the window and one on the car. I know it was fast and easy. I think it WAS under $30 too in 1986. That means its probably around $60 now for the pair. Ask the guy at the counter how to install them. It is really easy and will save you the cost of labor. You can also buy them on line and save some money. To me they are easier to replace than some wiper blades, so its an easy DIY fix.
Q: I understand basically that lifting it with a crank or hydraulic lift (usually equipped with most vehicles) is enough for changing a flat tire, but if I need to slide up under it,.what‘s the SAFEST method for getting underneath to do minor work on suspension? Need some advice here before I go and hurt myself. Thanks
There's any number of stands, jacks, or overhead winches you can use to get the car up in the air. BUT READ THIS: A cheap safety backup is to slide a wheel or two under the vehicle (full-size spares, etc.). If the stand/jack/winch fails (you accidentally kick it over, the car moves, the overhead support buckles, etc.), the car will fall on the spares, hopefully keeping open enough space for you. You can also lower the car down onto the wheels to relieve the strain on whatever it was you used to lift up the car in the first place. If the car is really high up or your wheels aren't thick enough, you can stack a couple wheels on top of each other, though you don't want to get the stack so high that it would be unstable when you need it. Somewhat obviously, the wheels should be laying on their sides and should be placed to catch the car right.
Q: I‘m asking specifically about rail drag cars (the long ones). The large engine should be lifting the front wheels off the ground and right over the car but they don‘t seem to.What is the physics involved in this? DO NOT give me an answer about aerodynamics, I‘m talking about before the car gets up to speed.
You mean dragsters? if you look to the back of them they have wheelie bars out back that force the front end down by spring pressure.
