Q: first of all, the black cat superstition is true because i saw a black cat a couple days ago before this accident took place. basically i missed a turn, tried to make the turn and hit the curb pretty hard. i can stilll drive the car but the steering wheel is misaligned (its jerked towards the left). Brakes work fine, and no physical damage done to the car were done. It‘s only the steering that is problematic. How much would it cost to get it repaired, and how long would it take? I don‘t want to get ripped of. Thanks guys.
It depends on what type of car you have but it could be $250 and takes about 1-3weeks to get it fixed
Q: 1997 Explorer.Strong fuel smell from outside the car, not so much inside. Only occurs after the car is running, after the car is shut off for a while the smell is no longer there.Any ideas?
That did scent. in case you have gas fumes/scent, i'd open the hood and take a glance for a gas leak till now it starts off the motor vehicle on hearth. I take it which you already made specific the gas cap became into nevertheless there. you've a difficulty with the charcoal canister which absorbs and holds the fumes interior the evap. gadget. If the purge valve that helps the intake manifold to entice the excess vapors back into the motor to be burnt is undesirable you've a build up of vapor or gas fumes outdoors the motor vehicle. If everybody has replaced any gas strains these days you will desire to make certain that top stress gas line became into used, widely used rubber hose gas line will blow out on a gasoline injected motor vehicle. This takes a whilst to ensue, yet continues to be a threat for back-backyard mechanics that don't understand to any extent further efficient.
Q: I have really bad OCD about running people over in my car. I constantly think im have ran someone over so i go back and check which makes my jorneys very long sometimes i have to recheck a route 6 - 10 times. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what they did to stop it, i am waiting for my CBT to start also i was wondering if i did run someone over would i defintley see it? would there be a noise? and would i get a dent in my car?
trust me, you'd know. in most cases when someone is hit by a car, the shape of the bumper and front bodywork causes the person to fly over the top of the car rather than underneath it(if you have a strong stomach, do a youtube search and you'll see exactly what I mean). in the event the person was thrown under the wheels, you'd feel the entire car lift into the air and crash down again. imagine hitting a speed bump at a decent speed without braking, it's about the equivalent of how the car would behave had you actually ran someone over. also, the biggest reason is the damage factor. hitting a person with a car at a decent speed can absolutely destroy the bodywork. I don't know if you've ever seen cars that have been in collisions with deer, but it's a very similar scenario. the front bodywork becomes mangled, the radiator is destroyed, suspension components are broken, just a lot of mechanical damage in general. in short, if you hit someone with your car, you would know. trust me.
Q: There are those electric chair lifts that go on the bumper of cars, will they hold electric mobility chairs on Cars or would I need to get an SUV? Please only serious answers. Dont answer if you dont know or if you arent going to give me a Yes it will or No you need to get a ___ type of car
So I can't answer that it will or won't hold a wheelchair lift? What I would do is contact manufacturers of wheelchair lifts and find out from them how, or if, they mount to passenger cars. Tell them what car you have or are planning to get. Some I remember seeing mount to the roof of the car if it is meant to facilitate the operator getting into the car as well. It's a kind of hoist type to help you load it in the back seat. And I know of lots of cars that have a carrier mounted on the rear end if mobility from the bumper to the driver's door isn't a problem for the operator. That vans we've had had swing out types from the side door that allowed the operator to basically roll in behind the driver's seat.
Q: my car was towed but i put the brake on an set the alarm
tow trucks have tow dolleys jack car up set a set of wheels under it and away they go about 5 minute
Q: A 5000 kg helicopter accelerates upward at 0.6 m/s2 while lifting a 1500 kg car. a) What is the lift force supplied by the helicopter rotors? b) What is the tension in the cable connecting the car to the helicopter? Answer:a) 67600 N b)15600 N How do I get these? Thanks.
F ma is your baby here. For the first one, how much weight must the rotors lift? They must lift the weight of the car and the helicopter right? So we add them together. 5000kg + 1500kg 6500kg total that the rotors must lift. We know that the acceleration due to gravity is 9.81m/s2, but the helicopter is accelerating upwards at 0.6m/s2. If its accelerating up, its making the load feel like its heavier than it really is. So we add the accelerations. 9.81 + 0.6 10.41m/s2. Now just substitute into F ma F 6500kg * 10.41m/s2 67665 N For B, the tension in the cable would just be the force of the car right? Cuz the cable is only holding the car up. So again F ma F 1500kg * 10.41m/s2 15615N
Q: its a 2007 corvette z06 with 37xxx miles. When im on the freeway in 6th gear, the car will jerk to the right everytime I accelerate. Also, while driving on a street the stick shift started shaking violently and the entire car started shaking with it, this would stop if I was rolling in neutral or if I just let go of the gas pedal and would start again as I accelerated. If I kept accelerating while the car was shaking, it would eventually stop shaking and then shake again after I shifted into the next gear. What the hell?
Rule of thumb is that if a car experiences BOTH shaking defaulty driving problems then it is usually a slipping tranny. A broken motor mount wouldn't explain the shifting while driving Then the balancing of the wheels wouldn't explain the shaking unless you have multiple problems which in this case would be better then the tranny.
Q: 1) A stuntman drives a car (without negative lift) over the top of a hill, the cross section of which can be approximated by a circle of radius R 280 m. What is the greatest speed at which he can drive without the car leaving the road at the top of the hill?
F normal zero at the top so mg - Fn m v^2/r so g v^2/r and v root(gr) work it out.
Q: ok, this is a question my science teacher asked me and I really don‘t get it. I did some math to find out the mechanical advantage, and it was 20N, which then meant to me using a pulley system with 20 ropes, but how can I find out how many pulleys? Does anyone know how to solve this? and if you can, can you also explain it? thanks! NOTE: N newtons
If you use one pulley to lift something it will cut the force needed in half, so if you divide 10000 by 2 you will get 5000. So it would take 5000N to lift the car with one pulley. If you divide 10000 by 2 five times you will get 312.5, so it takes 5 pulleys. But if one pulley has the rope on top the next one has to have one that has the rope on the bottom for the other to have one on top except for the last one because it does not need a pulley with the rope on the bottom. So it takes 9 pulleys. I hope that helped (it was probably a little hard to follow.)
Q: you ladies like big lifted trucks or tuner cars??? I have the truck fyi
maybe the master cylinder is bad and not releasing the pads away from the rotors and shoes away from the drums.
