Q: my shirts say tumble dry low but my dryer only has tumble press. is it the same?
No, actually it isn't the same. Regular Perm Press it hotter that Perm Press low. I also have the same issue. What I do is, put them on for about 5-10 min on Perm press, then 15-20 min on air. The heat from the regular Perm press stays in the dryer but doesn't keep getting hotter, and the then the air cools it off. Sometimes I go back and forth between the two until it is dried.
Q: im 14 and found a bench press in the basement. im going to start using itim 5'10-5'11 weigh about 200lbs and i have real good triceps
should be able to bench is hard to say but I'll tell you man, starting regular resistance exercise right now is awesome at your age. It will stimulate hormone development and kickstart your body into making changes that could potentially last for many years. To be honest, I started at 13 and couldn't bench press 65 pounds. That was almost 20 years ago and I loved teh changes I made back then. Today, I'm a personal trainer and could probably bench press two of my 13 year old versions of myself without thinking twice. Have fun man.
Q: I had to press 5 different types of leaves from my yard for part of my science project. I put newspaper, then the leaves, then a little more newspaper, then my english textbook, a dictionary, and a gallon of water. I let it sit for a week. My results:Australian bottle tree, Australian willow, kumquat bush, and lemon tree leaves worked perfectly.But... the ficus leaf (still got flattened and everything) is BROWN!What happened?I need to know ASAP so I know if I should try the ficus again or do a different type of leaf. I only have time for one more round of pressing before the project is due! Thanks :)
Ficus plants are always a problem when pressing. The main reason is that they have latex in their tissues and many of them have relatively thick leaves. Not only do they turn brown (or even black) but the leaves usually drop off the stems. There are a few ways to make good Ficus specimens but the ones I've heard of require alcohol (enough to dip the plants in) and you'd need to be able to apply dry heat to your press for a few days at least. So, if you don't HAVE to have a Ficus, use something else (weed from your lawn would be easiest).
Q: if I do leg presses with about 185 lbs. will that make my legs skinnier or just gain muscle? If that will make me gain then how much should i lift to loose fat?.....thanks in advance!
Hi. Since you are a female it is very hard for you to gain muscle. It seems to be a very common misunderstanding among women that if they start to lift weight they will become very muscular. For a variety of reasons this is not the case. You can do leg presses without any worries, they are also good for your buttocks. You should also train other muscles in your body, that will increase your metabolism as well as adding to your overall health and symmetry. It does not matter how much you lift if you want to lose fat, that has with your diet to do!! Eat a well balanced diet. For about 4-6 days eat a little less than you need to maintain weight, the next 4-6 days eat enough to maintain weight and then repeat until the desired bodyweight has been reached. Stick the 12-15 rep range as that will target your red muscle cells (they can burn fat). Good luck!
Q: Is there a major difference between the two? Is one more effective than the others? Would it be a bad idea to add 3 sets of dead lifts to my work out if I'm already doing 5 sets of leg press?
The leg press targets the quadriceps but also works the Gluteus Maximus, Adductor Magnus, Soleus, Hamstrings and Gastrocnemius. Full Squat although it works the same major muscles it also works the Erector Spinae, Rectus Abdominis and Obliques. Deadlift is specifically a back exercise and targets the Erector Spinae but also works Gluteus Maximus, Adductor Magnus, Quadriceps, Soleus, Hamstrings, Gastrocnemius, Trapezius, Middle, Trapezius, Upper, Levator Scapulae, Rhomboids, Rectus Abdominis and Obliques Drop the leg press and do the deadlifts.
Q: I normally seated shoulder press for the shoulder workout today the gym is closed early so i working out in a residents gym near they dont have the rack so i have to clean it up and press it.I only have done standing one time before 95*12For seated here are my sets95 warm up135*12155*10185*6-10( with a little help from spotter)
Normally one can military press more weight than they can seated press, so I would say go with your seated press' highest set. It may be harder simply because your not used to the movement, which in that case means to go lower and lower till your comfortable.
Q: is cold pressed oil oil better for you and why? is it healthier?
First cold press is generally a purely commercial wording with no factual meaning. It suggests that the oil in bottles with this label is the first oil that came from the first press of the olives and that no heat is used. This is not correct. First of all, cold does not define any precise temperature. A certain exception is made for the European regulation which requires that the processing temperature be below 27 °C in order to be named cold pressed.[citation needed] In cooler regions like Tuscany or Liguria the olives collected in November and ground often at night are too cold to be processed efficiently without heating. The paste is regularly heated above the environmental temperatures, which may be as low as 10-15 °C, in order to extract the oil efficiently with only physical means. Olives pressed in warm regions like Southern Italy or Northern Africa may be pressed at significantly higher temperatures although not heated. While it is important that the pressing temperatures be as low as possible (generally below 35 °C) there is no international reliable definition of cold pressed. Furthermore there is no second press of virgin oil, so the term first press is meaningless.
Q: when i press my leg the mark of my finger stays and does not go away. What can this be? I am anemic and I want to know if the two are related. Thanks
This could be a sign that your body is retaining to much water....Edema is swelling caused by excess fluid trapped in your body's tissues. Although edema can affect any part of your body, it's most commonly noticed in your hands, arms, feet, ankles and legs. Symptoms Click to enlarge Swelling of the foot, ankle and leg can be severe enough to leave an indentation, or pit, when you press on the area. This swelling (edema) is the result of excessive fluid in your tissues — often caused by congestive heart failure or blockage in a leg vein. Edema in ankleSigns and symptoms of edema include: Swelling or puffiness of the tissue under your skin (subcutaneous tissue) Stretched or shiny skin Skin that retains a dimple after being pressed for several seconds Increased abdominal size When to see a doctor Make an appointment to see your doctor if you have any of the signs or symptoms of edema, such as swelling, stretched or shiny skin, or skin that retains a dimple after being pressed. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any signs or symptoms of edema in your lungs (pulmonary edema), including: Shortness of breath Difficulty breathing Chest pain
Q: I can military press 100lb dumbbells (one in each hand) with ease. I've worked really hard to get up to this point, but......100lbs dumbbells are the heaviest that my gym has, so I have to move on to the barbell. Since the dumbbells isolate both shoulders, I should technically be able to military press more with the barbell than I should with dumbbells, right? Does starting off at 205 or 215 sound like a good idea? I've only been lifting (seriously) for about 2 years, so I'm still somewhat of a noob. Thanks!
Yeah, you can probably do as much as 245 lbs even In my experience (and this is none scientific at all) but in my experience, when I use barbells instead of dumbells for exercises like that (bench press, overhead press, bent over rows) - the amount of weight I can add to each side is almost identical to the weight of the dumbbells. So by that logic, you could add 100lbs to each side of a barbell, making the weight 245lbs HOWEVER, the form is slightly different, so I would advice to start at an even 200 and focus on perfecting the form. be careful with the changes. Watch your chin (you have to move your neck out of the way) and watch your back - you have to squeeze your glutes so your lower back doesn't arch. Also watch the positioning of your hands on the barbell as its slightly different. A narrower grip will work your shoulders primarily, but hit your triceps quite hard. A wider grip will work your shoulders and your upper chest the most.
Q: I would not bomb Iran. I would get out of Afghanistan tomorrow, bring the troops home. I believe that marriage equality is a constitutionally guaranteed right. I would advocate legalizing marijuana now. I would have never signed the Patriot Act I would have never signed the National Defense Authorization Act allowing for arrests and detainment of you and me as U.S. citizens without being charged. I believe we need to balance the federal budget now and that means a $1.4 trillion reduction in federal spending now.~Gary JohnsonExplain to me why this guy, who has held 2 terms as governor of New Mexico, left the state with a 1 billion dollar surplus, not getting the press he deserves? He has more executive experience than Obama and Romney combined. (and he climbed mount Everest with a broken leg)Why are you all being brainwashed into thinking we have no third option?
He ran as a Republican at first, and didn't get any delegates. Romney won. And no, he really doesn't have more executive experience than Romney. Say whatever you want about Bain Capital, but it was one of the most successful capital firms in history, and he was the head of it. Unfortunately, in reality, there is no third option. He can't, and won't win. There's two parties in this country - one left wing, and one slightly more left wing. Like it or not, that's all we have for now. Edit* Touche, good sir. Touche.
