Q:I already have my carpet and padding. We purchased a whole house of like new, but used carpet at a great price for our LR and BR's and we have carpet padding. We planned to pay to have the carpet installed, but we are now completely out of money and paying someone is not an option. I know it will not be as nice or last as long, but I am wondering if we can glue the carpet down? It's just a regular mid-grade plush carpet. I am also wondering if this can be done with carpet padding or can it only be glued directly to the sub-floor? I am trying to figure out if I could staple down the carpet padding and somehow glue the carpet to the padding? Any help/suggestions on gluing down carpet with or without padding would be appreciated. Thanks!
Glue down carpet doesn't have padding underneath, so it's usually reserved for commercial spots or basements where it's not high traffic. Doing that to a regular carpet that isn't commercial grade will cause it to wear out much quicker than usual. You would also spend much more in buying all the glue to lay it properly, not to mention enough for the padding as well; rather than just buying the tack-strips and laying it that way. It's not that tough to put the tack-strips down yourself, the only tough part is kicking and stretching the carpet. You'll need to at least rent a kicking tool to get it done properly.
Q:My diningroom and livingroom are together so I've painted them a nice yellow...and my trim is wood most of my furniture is oak and I have wood flooring, what color rug would fit perfect with my living-dining area?? And any suggestions on where I can find a good price for one?
I have a very similar design with white oak floors, clear fir trim, and chamois walls. I chose a heavy herringbone seagrass rug with a wide border closely matched to the seagrass colors. The rug has been down for over a year, and has held up very well. My 2 year old lab has slobbed on it with his tennis ball, and thrown-up on it a few times during his experimental food stage. I was able to clean the mess up quickly, and it didn't stain. The colors are green to brown and seem to blend in real well with the yellowy chamois color.
Q:My carpet has a sticky feeling, is stained, and just needs an overall really really good cleaning I can accomplish with my vaccum. What is the best cleaner to buy?
Stanley Steamers
Q:What material is used for the automobile carpet
Now the carpet used in the car,the foot pad, are plastic. they are cheap, and it's convenient to clean up.
Q:What is the average price of wall to wall carpeting for a 2,000 quare foot house?

Q:I am planning on getting a Carpet Python in a couple of months and wanted to know a few things about them as I am still learning about them and I like to really know about a snake before purchasing.1. Do Carpets like climbing when adults?2. Do carpets like to be held after their nippy stage?(After Maturing a bit)3. If I started him off in a big tank would it be ok? or would i have to use a smaller tank then progress?Any other cool things you guys know about Carpets I would love to hear about also! Thanks in advance! :)
Carpet Pythons are semi arboreal, so they will appreciate some things to climb on when they are young and old. But as they get older they will need some pretty sturdy branches. Depending on what locality you get, it may get anywhere from 6'-12'. Carpet Pythons actually mellow out a lot when they mature a bit. They are fine with being handled, and it'll make it easier on you. You could start off in a big tank, but you have to make sure that the snake feels secure. Lots of hides, branches, etc. Plus you need to make sure there's enough heat for the whole cage. I would start off in a smaller tank if you can, but you don't have to. And one other tip about Carpet Pythons, unlike most snakes, which are usually fed prey the size of the fattest part of the snakes body, they actually can eat prey that are bigger than that, and prefer it.
Q:I am looking for someone to pull the glue down carpet I have on my concrete basement floor off. Also, would install new carpet in for a reasonable price. I will buy all the materials needed. I just need someone to remove and install it. I live in the Piedmont Triad area in North Caroline. Please help.

Q:You know, 3 or 4 inches thick... perfect for in front of the fireplace or anywhere me and my lover might want to get down...I just cant seem to use the right search terms online, and I keep finding entire bear rugs..... yuck... not very romantic.

Q:We moved into a new home, and until we change the carpet out, is there a temporary fix you can use to hide unsightly bleach stains on carpeting?
Contact a carpet cleaning company and ask them about Spot Dyeing. They can do this service relatively cheap (maybe $20 per square foot) on small areas. It will be done fast, professionally, and the work will be insured. Much better than going it alone. I managed a 635-unit apartment complex, and dealth with this situation all the time. The same company that cleaned our carpets would also dye them for me if there were spots, and you couldn't tell that a spot had ever been there. Good Luck!
