So if 108 sq ft=$27, then you divide both sides of the equation by 108 to find how much 1 sq ft equals. You get 1 sq ft=$.25. The area of the 2nd carpet is 8*14=112. So if 112 sq ft=$28, then you divide both sides of the equation by 112 to find how much 1 sq ft equals. You get 1 sq ft=$..25. This means they both cost the same amount per sq ft, therefore neither was the better bargain.

Q: Our family just moved into an apartment with 4 year old carpet (the manager verified the installation date). We plan on moving in 4 years when my husband is done with medical school. Therefore, the carpet would be 8 years old. We would like to pay to replace the carpeting, but the manager is claiming that the carpeting we are looking at isn't quot;commercial gradequot; and that it won't last after we move. The manager also claims that the carpeting that is currently installed could potentially last another 4-8 years. The current rule here is that if you damage the carpet and it must be replaced within the first 7 years, you must pay x/7 of the value. My question is: If we trash our carpet and move out in 4 years, they won't be able to charge us. Why can't I just replace it now with carpeting that I like? Does this sound right? If you replace it, are you really going to live in that SAME apartment? It's not worth it to replace someone else's place. Save yourself the money and be happy. Put rugs over it or something that you like, don't replace the carpet!

Q: I just purchased an indoor-outdoor rug for my kitchen. I thought maybe it would wear better and not show every little spill or dirt.I had a black rug in there before and it showed everything.My problem is that I can't seem to get the wrinkles out of it.Down the sides of it are ripples and they won't go away. Therefore it won't lie flat on the floor and I'm afraid someone might trip ovr it and get hurt.: double sided tape or industural strength velcro to adhere it to the floor...the velcro will work better...get it at your local hardware store (lowes, Homedepot, ace etc..)

I typically use a mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 3 parts water (can be made stronger for tougher stains) for carpet stains. Borax and water is another great stain remover. I have successfully used these methods to clean every stain on our carpet.

Q: i had a pro come to clean my carpet and he said that there secret cleaning solution was oven cleaner mixed with water is this true and what is your best home made solution to clean carpets: there is really no secret chemicals to clean carpet stuff at grocery store work but not that well if you want a good job you should go to a cleaning supply store and buy it there.the key to cleaning carpet is to suspend the dirt so you can extract it out with as little water as possible.there is solution out the to add to rinse water that lowers the surface tension of water so it does a better job rinsing.if you leave any soap residue in your carpet it will just attract more dirt and look worse then when you started
