Q: What kind of lotion does cleaning company use to clean the carpet? Will it do harm to human health?
Cleaning company cleaning blanket is sure to use cleaning agents which are partial alkaline; talk about the seriousness of the health damage
Q: Hi all i burnt the carpet and if our landlord see's it i am done for, is there anything i could do to make it look better, thanks
if you can cut the burnt part out.
Q: burgandy nail varnish on a cream carpet, help??
I have a really good book and this is what it says: Blot as much as possible with paper tissues. Apply non-oily nail varnish remover on a ball of cotton wool, testing at the edge of the carpet first, since the backing can be damaged if the solvent soaks through. Treat any remaining stains with methylated spirit on a white pad. Finally, apply carpet shampoo. This seems to apply to fresh stains but it's got to be worth a go. Hope you get the stain out
Q: What if I went to Home Depot and bought a sheet of rubber cut to just a bit less than 8' x 10' and then a piece of felt the same size - glue them together and pop the area rug on top?Would that work?
Hi Blue Eyed Homo, I am a flooring associate that works at The Home Depot, and I know that some rug pads seem to be expensive, especially in your size. I've worked in other departments and been with the company for almost 10 years and I have yet to see a sheet of rubber that will sell in the store other than pan liner for tubs that would work in your situation. Also, you won't find at our store pieces of felt in that size. Plus, felt just won't be able to grip the rug properly especially if you have a hardwood floor. Did you check around your local stores flooring department? I think I may have a less expensive solution for you. Carpet padding, not rug pad, but the kind ppl place under their carpets. It may not look pretty but its made to not be seen anyway and it works great for big area rugs your size. Home Depot sells carpet pad in pre-cut 6ft. by 9ft. rolls or have your flooring associate there cut out a size for you. Bottom line....the carpet pad will be way less expensive than the rug pads we sell, and you'll still have a slip resistant surface for your new area rug for years to come. Hope this helps, aboveaveragejoe
Q: What is the difference between an area rug and an accent rug?
an area rug would be more to cover an area and the accent just adds to the looks..
Q: Yesterday morning the toilet supply line to our toilet burst, and as a result we had crazy flooding. I would say close to half the carpet in our 2 bedroom apartment was drenched, with the neighbors downstairs getting a lot of the extra water.Anyways, they have removed a lot of the padding and set up fans under the carpet to dry it. Here almost two days later the carpet is close to dry, but this places reeks of that lovely mildew smell.....Everyone I have talked to said they should have just replaced the carpet. Do you think we can request they do it if the smell persists?
No, it isn't their fault. If anything, it's your fault. They probably will replace it but you will have to play for it. While you are living in someone else's house, you are responsible for most of the stuff which goes wrong.
Q: I am having such a hard time finding a rug for my small studio apartment! I have white walls, an off-white/very light creme colored modern leather couch, a glass coffee table (smart coffee table-cb2) and a dark wood tv console. I just purchased a small dining table which is basically next to my tv console and it is also dark wood. I wanted to keep the entire room light but after an impulsive buy, I realize that the dining table definitely darked the room by a lot. Would using a white area rug clash with the off-white couch? I was also thinking of a light taupe colored rug that I think might match better but I want a color as light as possible. Would white be bad, aside from difficulties in maintenance?Last question, in a small room, would a dark wood tv console, dark wood dining table and a dark wood entryway console table be too much dark wood? Thanks a lot!
1st choice: Beach Sand colored. 2nd choice: Turqoise. 3rd choice: Bright Purple. 4th choice: A Red Wine color. 5th choice: Silver, not grey! Perfect match, all dark wood!
Q: I had my boss come over for dinner last night and his 15 year olD pooped on my rug and it stinks how can i get the stain out
try some diaper soaker .first try iit onsome part oof the rug that can't be seen in case it takes the colour of the rug out .then use it carefully ,not too much soaker.about half a cup in a litre of water get as much of the poop off as you can before you start then gently drawing the stain to the center from each side dab on the diaper soaker. you will need to put the soaker in some warm water. when you think you have got it cleaned up get a micro cotton towel and put it over the stain and stand on it .this will soak up most of the water .you may have to repeat this to get it all out .
Q: Im trying to find ways to make money for a low cost. I live in and area where there is around 5 other carpet cleaning businesses. Basically I need to pay for gas, car insurance+phone =$70 and I don't know how much being licensed and insured for the business would be. Basically if I get around 5-10 customers a month I'd be doing good. If you have had a carpet cleaning business or experience please let me know if its worth it. Thanks!

Q: Baby had a ball with foundation in bathroom. Cleaned everything but the rug. It's vanilla-colored, and is 100% cotton. Any hope?
3/4 cup of Clorox in wash or since it is a colored rug use the Clorox for colored clothes.
