- Q: I was wondering about purchasing a sofa bed to clear up space in my room. I dont want to sacrifice my comfort either. So, I came across the Ikea Manstad Sofa bed. it looks sturdy and different from other sofa beds. Those older sofa beds have those metal bars sticking in your back throughout the night making sleep uncomfortable. The Ikea Manstad doesnt have those metal bars but, im not sure if its very comfortable to sleep on. Is it suitable for everyday sleeping or should I stick with my old fashioned firm mattress?
- It does look comfortable, but I can't figure out how it converts into a double bed. If you have to slide one side up against the other, I am not sure if this is something you'd want to do each day, then put it back into a sofa. I can't imagine any sofa bed would hold up and be comfortable for everyday use. I think they are more suited for occasional use. Another option you may want to consider is a day bed. A day bed takes a regular twin mattress, and if you wanted comfort, you could use a high-quality one that would be nice for sleeping. I have a day bed in my guest room. It's a trundle, with a second twin that pulls out and pops up. You can either make it a separate bed, or butt it up against the other to make a large bed. The mattresses that came with it are cheap. I've slept on them, and they're not too bad. Certainly more comfortable, I think, than a sleeper sofa. Just something to think about.

- Q: I need to arrange my sofa/loveseat in an L-shape. However, both pieces recline and putting them too close together does not allow both pieces to recline without hitting each other. Spacing them further apart so they don't touch when reclined means that they are too far apart to share an end table. The space is about the size of two end tables. Two end tables butted together looks awkward.Any suggestions?
- Hard to picture. I have a sofa loveseat in an L-shape but it doesn't recline. Can you put the loveseat on the opposite end? You know - like a 7 instead of an L? Isn't there enough room for an end table at the other end? Why do you have to share? I have more questions than you do.

- I agree with mamma mia. sofa bed has very little cushion and you can always hear the spring noise. If I have to buy another sofa bed again I will go for a futton.

- It's really a personal choice. Do you have kids? Lots of company? or maybe you want it to last a long time. If those are your issues, you may want to go with leather. I like sectionals, you can arrange them any way you want, and they look really cool.
