Q: I bought a used sofa and loveseat and I lost one of the legs to the sofa when we hauled it home, does anyone know where I can get a sofa leg? I can find it on the internet but I would like to go out and get one tonight at a local store.....
I okorder /
Q: I'm not asking about an Intl Drivers License. I know about those. I just want to know if anyone has gotten a Japanese Drivers License on SOFA status while being in Japan.
Marriage is for better or worst, all marriages have a hard start in the beginning. Most couples are broke, some more than others. Love can't put a roof over your heads or food on the table but it can keep you guys together until that happens. Its harder with a little one because they need constant care. Try to find jobs, and who ever can find the one that pays the most will work, other one will stay at home with baby.
Q: We already have a fabric (slate blue color) recliner that is only about 6 yrs old, perfect condition that we have no intention (at this time) of replacing. With this new tax refund MAYBE coming this summer ($2100 WHOOOO HOOOO) I would like to replace our sofa/love seat. We have never had our own and this one is shot. I haven't told my husband of my desire yet but I figure if we spend 1/2 and save 1/2 on something we are putting into the house :) Anyway. Since our recliner is staying and it's fabric, we should probably not even look at leater as it wouldn't go. Correct? Or is mixing pieces ok? I'm not sure about leather w/ little ones either. Does the soft plushy type of leater scratch easily? Also..if we went w/ fabric, we should probably go w/ the slate blue color as close to the recliner as possible, yes? Or would going w/ a tan/darker tan/khaki color not look right? Our carpet is tan.
You could get leather, as leather will go with anything. However, there are a lot of styles and qualities of leather sofas. If you have a lot of kids and pets, I would wait on the leather. Go to a furniture store and look at what they have. Most stores have a designers section where you can check out fabric samples. I would suggest getting a durable fabric with a high # rating that will last for years and... get one that is in a print with lots of different colors (easier to hide spills and stains).
Q: which can be used every day instead of a regular bed? I heard that 4 inch matresses are uncomfortable, and also, many of these convertables fall apart quickly if used daily.
there's a microfiber sofa at pier one stores this season that the salespeople swear is the most comfortable sofa bed ever. i haven't bought it, but have visited a few stores and they all say it. it retails for $699 also consider a mattress topper ( maybe 4 inch memory foam). it's usually thin enough to fold right in with the bed when you need to convert back to sofa.
Q: I guess I got some on me after painting the basement floor on decided to sit down. I tried to use some pledge but it didn't work.
Rub a lamp!!!
Q: what colours will go with it in the living room
If your sofa is more or less modern, or casual looking, then you can go with a very trendy color scheme, like chocolate brown (sofa), muted pale blue (for example window treatments, like nice heavy velvet or sherry organza or silk), earthy taupe (walls: important taupe should be much lighter then your sofa's color!). Furniture could be dark brown and simple (espresso), or light colored like maple (but than it should be very stream-lined) or even lacquered white and chunky. You can get a lot of inspiration for this color scheme at west elm's web-site. You can replace pale blue with apple-green, it's much more punchy and casual. For the accents, you can bring Burnt Orange to both color schemes and add some organic elements like woolen rug (flokati) or some art work made out of wood, ceramic or glass!
Q: I am moving into an apartment and would love to get some help ...Trying to create a modern look and Im centering the whole decor on our sofa set which is beige green with black brown wood on the edges of its arms. The color palette for the decor will be slat blue, white and a bit of orange (just for the flowers)..Wondering if it okay to get a white coffee table...The tv console is also black-brown.Also, what color should i chose the area rug ? Neutral or Green ? There will be some indoor plants also ...hence the thought for a green rug...Thanks for the help.....
Go with a neutral rug. Do you like natural fibers such as sisal or jute? I think this style would go well with the pieces you've desribed. Shades of green are really hard to match, and if the rug looks off with your sofa, it will not be attractve. For some reason, I cannot envision a white coffee table with the other pieces. I think it might stand out too much and take over as the focal point in the room. What do you think of cream or ivory? Or maybe even an organic material such as wicker with a slate top. I can even see a glass top with your color palette. It has the feeling of sophistication and coolness that would go with your other pieces. I don't know how you plan to use the slate blue, but I'd spread a little more orange around the room. Maybe in a throw pillow or two, in a piece of art, a bottle, dish, or vase, etc. I love orange for accents and have several splashes of it in my living room.
Q: I just purchased a grey sofa. In our living area, it looks green! We have greyish tan walls which we will probably change. The first thing I wanted to look at in our room though is the lighting. In the afternoon when light is coming in, the sofa looks charcoal grey like it is supposed to. This is our den/basement and we have fluorescent lighting. I was wondering what color of lighting should we go with to tone down the green in the grey? I looked online and they have full spectrum, cool white and warm white. Our current bulbs don't say whether they are cool, warm or full spectrum. Thanks!
Most lighting stores and even Big Box building stores like Home Depot and Lowes have a display with various color temperatures of light bulbs, particularly fluorescents. Can you take a sample of the sofa fabric with you, like the cover to one of the cushions? Bring it and place it under the lighting samples and see which will give you the color you like. I was a lighting consultant and I tend to think a cool white or bright white will be your best bet -- it's in the blue spectrum rather than warmer yellow tones that you'll find in warm white. Even if bulbs don't have a color name on them they should have a 4 digit color temperature number like 4100, 3000 or 3500. You want something 4000 or higher which will be closer to what's called northern sky light. You can get bulbs up to 5000 or 7500 temperature but they will be a bit dimmer than the 4100 bulbs though the color will be truer.
Q: how do you clean suede sofas lol
You can only clean with a damp rag along the way the pile goes.If you check with a Saddelry or leather shop you might be able to use a leather soap.
Q: Can rattan products be put in the open air?
No place can be placed outdoors in the sun and rain, otherwise easy to deformation and decay. Rattan products are mainly cellulose, and a small amount of lignin, these ingredients in nature is still easy to be microbial and physico-chemical decomposition.
