FAQ

Q: Are CNBM pumps available in DIY stores?

A: Yes, currently, we’re available for DIY stores all over the world.

Q: Where do I have to send pumps for service?

A: You must send them to the CNBM PUMP Service Point or, after contacting Customer Care, to the CNBM PUMP service center in China.

Q: Are your pumps acid-proofed?

A: To choose the right pumps for chemical applications, we do need further details on hydraulic operations as well as on the type, concentration and temperature of the liquid.

Q: Can your pumps mount Eff.1 motors

A: Currently, only on request though this will shortly be a CNBM standard.

Q: Are your pumps protected against dry running?

A: No, unprotected centrifugal pumps are not generally designed for dry running. It is important to give us or your dealer as much information as possible about the system in which the pump is used. Inlet pressure, the type of liquid to be pumped, together with relative density, viscosity and temperature, for example, are required in order to allow CNBM to recommend the right pump with the right gaskets for a long operating lifetime.

Q: How can I get trained on CNBM products?

A: Yes, we provide training courses in our factory (products, general and specific pump technology, hydraulics, and practical applications). Please consult your sales manager or get in touch with our headquarters for more information.

Q: What is the easiest way to remove a water pump?
drain radiator. remove both 21mm motor mount bolts from subframe (front and rear). drain radiator. remove overflow/washer bottle. remove drive belt. remove 8mm bolt that hold lower watertube to front cover. remove lower water tube from water pump. remove heater hoses from water pump. slightly lift engine with floor jack. remove water pump pully. remove water pump. if you still cant get it you will need to remove the 4 studs that go through the water pump. now its just that easy to do
Q: My water pump broke on my volkswagen golf tdi so I took it to a garage. He charged me ?250 for a new pump and fitting. When I came to collect it he showed me the broken water pump, when I asked if I could keep the broken pump that was taken out of my car he said that there would be quite a quot;heftysurcharge for me to take it with me because they have to send them back to Volkswagen. I thought it was a bit strange. Is that normal?
He would have charged you a core charge (sometimes more than the replacement part costs). A lot of companies refurbish old parts and require you to turn in the bad part so they can repair it.
Q: think the water pump is behind the crank pulley but im not certain I've pulled apart the front end but I'm having a hard time getting the pulley off so I want to make sure the part im trying to pull off is not the wrong one.
your water pump is located in the front center of the engine behind the timing cover and is driven by the timing belt. The timing belt must be removed to service the pump and recommend changing the belt at the same time. the only special tool you will need is a puller to remove the crank pulley this can be rented at an auto parts store the rest comes apart with basic hand tools. I recommend buying a service manual for your car at the parts store you get the other items needed to change the pump it will give you a step by step procedure for changing your belt and pump.
Q: My car is 3 years old and it only has 18,000 miles on it and I just got it back from the repair shop at the dealership because the water pump broke. They replaced the water pump and something else that was recalled. But I looked online and found water pumps should last a long time. What might have happened to it, and what would cause it to break?
sometimes crap breaks. if this water pump lasts 18,000 then you have a serious design flaw.. or you are doing something as the driver to break it. But sometimes you get a dud, it happens. not to worry. that's why you get a new car, warranty is awesome.
Q: the pump inlet how hard is this to replace i know the timing chain cover has to be removed and is this the propable place of the leak
You can't fix it. Wanna' know why? You are here.
Q: How to introduce water pump?
The so-called Practice makes perfect., read the three hundred Tang poems will not recite poetry.Suggest a good understanding of the basic knowledge of water pumps, industry trends, understand the needs of the industry, as an expert in the industry!
Q: The water pump on my 1997 corolla has been leaking, I want to replace it by myself. I did some research online, and get the diagram of the engine structure. It seems to me it is not very hard to do, but who knows, it might end up being a very tricky job. Did anyone replace the water pump on 97 corolla before? How difficult was it? Two things I actually worry: 1. It might be hard to unbolt the water pump pulley, because there is little room insert a wrench. 2. Also, because of the lack of room, it would be also hard to unbolt the timing belt cover (the 2nd/middle cover). A shop gave the quote of $440 to replace the water pump, and I think I should be able to do it myself.
Think about the engine timing, its the most important. If you put the timing belt back in at wrong timing it'll be a big problem.
Q: Hi. This car is 66 chevy but the motor is a 1984 chevy 350 4bolt main stroked to 383. I think its an '84, might be an '85. I need to replace fan clutch and water pump.... the fan clutch is bad but manufacturer of the replacement parts says you must do water pump and fan clutch together. Is the pump a 66 chevy pump or a 350 small block pump? What about the fan clutch? Ok, and please help with motor mounts. do I use mounts specific for 66 model or specific to the motor?
It's a Gen 1 small block V8. There are only two types of small block water pumps, long shaft and short shaft. Short shaft pumps were used on pre 1968 motors. The long pump measures 7 1/4 from the mounting surface to the outside of the clutch mounting flange, the short pump measures 5 5/8. The mounts should be for a small block in the same body type you are using it in. Back in the 50's there was a different mounting system that bolted to the front of the block, but everything since then is compatible. By the way, if the motor is in a 1966 body with the standard radiator, use the short water pump, iron or aluminum makes no difference except in cost.
Q: HelloI am building a small budget underground room. On top of a very waterproof and airtight (besides vents) building, and running a dehumidifer inside, I would like to install a pump underneatth the foundation to suck out water from the soil surronding the building but I'm not sure what kind of pump would be best? Also how would b e the best way to set this up?
What you want is called a sump pump. Most have a system built into them that is triggered by rising water. The idea is to have a hole beneath that allows the inevitable water that will collect a place to go, then when a certain amount gets in the hole, the sump pump comes on and pumps it out to wherever you have the hose or pipes ran to. Being underground, good luck keeping the humidity level down. It won't be easy, and much depends on where your natural water table is, and what it is during rains. Someone in your area might know all that, I don't.
