Q: my sump pump keeps filling with sewer water. i cant figure out why or where it could be coming from. and the smell is awful.
The only way you can have actual sewer water in your sump pump is if there is a broken pipe that is leading to the sewer and broke. It would have to penetrate and saturate the ground, then go all the way into the soil under the foundation and enter your drainage system under the basement floor. It then would run back to the pit containing your sump pump which would pump it back up through the pipe and start it all over again. If you have a septic tank the same pipe could be leaking, the tank might have a crack in it, or if you have had a massive amount of rain the field might be swamped and the water is following the pipe back into the house. If on a municipal sewer the municipality is generally responsible from the house to the street and you are responsible from the foundation back into the house. If it is septic system, you are completely responsible for all repairs. First thing to do is decide which system you have and call them if it is sewer system, call a plumber if you are on septic.
Q: I own a Camaro 1995 V6 3.4L automatic, it was diagnosed that the water pump was leaking and I was going to take it in on Saturday 3/1/08. But this morning I drove it and it seem that the car is losing power the RPM goes all up to 4-5 thousand to make a speed change. The car seems to stall like if it gets stuck the RPM goes up and eventually the next speed kicks in. I will be taking the car in tomorrow 2/27/08 to see whats wrong but I was hoping maybe someone knows whats wrong so that I can have an idea before someone tries to take advantage of me. I do know that the car started leaking water/coolant more than before after that little drive in the morning. The car is very well kept oil change is always on time .I always make sure that the water and the oil is level. transmission fluids are clean. I do know that the EGR Valve needs to be replaced. (hope this info helps)thank you
YES IT CAN YOU CAN DAMAGE YOUR HEAD BY OVER HEATING THEN YOU HAVE MORE ISSUES VAPOR LOCKING ?? THAT IS ONLY WITH FUEL NOT WATER PUMP LEAKING
Q: I was wondering if water pumps make any noise when they are submersed? Also, my pond is quite small and I don't want to scare my fish with a noisy pump. Thank you!
i've got efficiently used that pump for ten years, recirculating water interior a fountain. it quite is not submerged and is thoroughly silent as long as you do no longer permit debris accrue on the impeller section. I double filter out the water earlier it is going into the pump. that's wiped sparkling via unscrewing the bleed-valve on the top and letting the debris be cleared. you could take it aside there, too, yet take care re-assembling because of the fact the o-ring is comfortable.
Q: What's so good about having a water pump on my stand alone ice maker? What exactly does it do?
The ones that make cubes, not slices make a sheet of ice by continuously pumping the water over a flat evaporator. Then once the ice builds up it reverses the hot gas and the slab melts off falling on the cutting grid which cuts it in to cubes. Those that operate this way are much faster and produce more ice. No pump, no ice.
Q: Is it a good idea to turn my pond water pump off at night and back on during the day to lower my electricity bill?
we only turned our pond pump on when we were outside to enjoy the pond...that way if our pump got knocked over we were there to keep the water from being pumped out of the pond...which did actually happen due to wind alot..lol...my goldfish in the pond...have lived thru two winters and a summer just this way...they dont need the pump to survive the wind keeps enough oxygen in the pond with ripples that its fine...as for the mosquito's...they form in any standing water..they form in normal ground ponds..they will form in your pond whether you have the pump running or not...we have had our pond 8 years now..and the first year we ran it all the time...we still had mosquito's and that was the only water source around...frogs started coming to the pond after we turned the pond off..which was actually cool..part of the summer we had tadpoles and the fish of course ate some of them...
Q: And if it needs to be replaced, does that spell trouble for a car? I see a car I might like to buy, but the ad says that the water pump needs to be replaced. Someone please enlighten me. Thanks.
did u get a mechanic to do it? or do it yourself? if you had a mechanic do it, ask them to fix it if you had no problems prior. Could be thermostat, could be you dont have enough coolant in radiator or even proper coolant to water ratio. All i know is you need to bleed out the radiator to remove all air after water pump is taken off and put back on, because that can cause problems aswell. ok well you just updated it, so i am too, your mechanic sounds like a dumb ****, he should have bled air out of radiator, the fact he told you is weird, should have fixed it then and there. It is an important step of changing water pump. If there is air in it, your radiator and water pump wont be rotating the water properly. Tell him to fix it and say you did your research and you're not paying another cent!
Q: OK so i am new to RVing....I have an older 1971 trailer pull forester....It has a your normal fresh water inlet on the outside of the trailer, fresh water tank, and water pump. My question is actual a double part question #1 When i screw the hose on the inlet and start filling the water tank i hear it going in but i still have no water coming out the faucet...Does this have to do with the water pump? why am not getting water to anything except i hear the tank filling up?!?#2 Is the Water pump A/C or D/C......I have that little pull knob (that i guess turns it on or off) and i was curious if i needed to be hooked up to the Battery in front to make this work? or should it work with the regular AC that everything else is working on?Thanks for any help

Q: I have a 2002 Honda Civic Ex sedan with about 105k miles. Sometime before 110k I need to get the timing belt replaced. At about 95k my mechanic asked if I wanted to replace the timing belt and the water pump. According to the owners manual the timing belt must be replaced, but it simply says check the water pump.I don't want to pay for unnecessary repairs, but I also know that both of these jobs are quite involved, but can be done together fairly easily. Is there anything I can do to check myself or do I just have to trust my mechanic when I take it in. Also, what is the cost difference between the timing belt job and adding in the water pump at the same time?
i would if i were you. that way you will know everything is good shape. besides a pump don,t cost that much.
Q: I recently got the water pump replaced on a 99 Oldsmobile Intrigue GL (3.5L V6), and ever since the temperature gage seems to be running higher...between half way and the 3rd line, where before it was replaced it never got above the second line. It is doing this when I slow down and stop at lights. Once I get going the temperature does drop. Is this normal, or did they do something wrong?
There's a few different things that could be causing your problem. 1: Did they change the thermostat? If so, they may have replaced it with a defective one. If not, then it may need to be replaced. 2: What was the reason the water pump was replaced in the first place? if it was for any other reason than leaking then this could be causing your problem. 3: They might not have gotten all the air out of the system. when you drain all the water and then fill system back up, there are large air pockets in engine that must be bleed out. If not, these air pockets will get trapped behind the thermostat and cause the thermostat not to open when it's suppose to! 4: Are your cooling fans coming on? If not, you may have a bad temp sensor, causing your fans not to come on while you are stopped. This type of problem is hard to narrow with out seeing it in person. I would take it back to the place that replace your water pump and see if they can figure it out.
