- Q: keep in mind this is a 6 yr old machine, the old roms connected the old way, I don't even know the name of the old cables.....
- yah! you can buy a SATA power cable converter. but i don't think if there is a IDE cable to SATA cable converter? is your mother board have a SATA socket?
- Q: why is power cable not recognized by notebook?
- This most likely isn't a windows 7 problem at all. It's more likely there would be some damage to the internals of your power cable at some place. Usually if there is, it's in the connecting end or the power conversion box. I would try a replacement cable first if you can. If you don't' have one, take it to a pc shop and see if they can use a test adaptor. If theirs works, it's the adaptor. If theirs doesn't, it's then more likely the power port on your pc is damaged.
- Q: Can I do the big 3 upgrade by only doing the 2 ground cables(battery to chassis and engine block to chassis) now and doing the power to the alternator at another time? Will this give me a little performance boost until I can get enough material?
- Yes, that is fine. That is what i did in my car because it was a pain to get to the alt and i had a new one on the way. My voltage was dropping to around 13 volts before i upgraded the two grounds and after it never dropped much past 13.5. It is more of a problem to upgrade power cable and not the grounds, not to upgrade grounds and not power.
- Q: I am looking to replace a broken power cable for my DigiTech RP1000 guitar effects board, but I am curious as to whether I need to find a cable specifically for this device, or if I can look up any cable with an output of 9V AC; 1.3 Amps.
- Flexible cables for use at low voltage e.g. for mains adaptors and speakers, are probably good for at least 100 volts. They are usually rated for current, and are well over-engineered, so anything rated from 1 amp up will work fine. I wouldn't use a cable rated for more than, say 3 amps because there will be more chance of a thicker cable shorting out in the plug - there isn't a lot of space between the terminals.
- Q: then directly to the capacitor. or should the resistor be in the middle of the power cable.
- The resistor just has to be in line somewhere between the battery and the capacitor, and it is TEMPORARY. Its' only purpose is to slow down the initial charging of the capacitor so you don't get a giant spark. Once the cap is charged (which shouldn't take much more than a minute, depending on the size of the capacitor) the resistor gets removed. What I always do is remove the main power fuse at the battery, then connect the uncharged capacitor into the system near the amp, mount it, ground it, and then just place the resistor across the fuse holder's terminals to charge the cap before I put the fuse back in. Actually, I use a 12v test light instead of a resistor; when the light goes out, the capacitor is fully charged.
- Q: The voltage level of the cable is how much the number of high and low voltage cables
- Color line, HDMI cable, S-terminal line of the three transmission video signal (HDMI can also transmit audio signal); coaxial line is the transmission of audio signals
- Q: NO power convertor needed? I can go straight from AT to ATX?
- It's okorder /
- Q: hi i found out that the cable power that goes from my wall outlet to my wireless router is broken. so i would like to rip some of the plastic and solder and then put some take so the negative and positve wires do not touch. is it safe to do that? thank you. 10 points to the best answer. god bless you.
- If it's the skinny low voltage cable then go ahead. Even if it does come apart the most that will happen it that it will give you a light shock. Probably not even that if it's less than 12 V. Couldn't harm a fly. Hint: cut the positive lead an inch shorter on one wire and same for the negative on the other side. Now your splices aren't next to each other. If the wire is going to be exposed (i.e. not tucked behind the TV), get some heat shrink tubing from Radio Shack or Home Depot to make it look professional and prevent the electrical tape from rubbing off. Just make sure to thread the wire through the heat shrink tubing before you fix the wire! If it's the thick mains cable that plugs directly into the wall, DONT DO IT. That much electricity can actually jump through electrical tape if, say, you step on the wire. Get a new cable and remake the connection inside the box.
- Q: What fuse should I use to run my power cable to the amp?
- Measure the current (A) drawn in operation, increase by 50% and round up to the nearest standard ampacity: If the drawn current in normal operating conditions is 10A @ 12Vdc, 10*1.5 = 15A, which is one of the standard fuse ampacities (no need to round up).
- Q: do i fit the 2 other power connectors to the psu wire or just the one connectorThanksCard is an hd3870
- I have the HD 3870 and I do not recall it having 3 power connectors. There is only one, which is the 6pin. Only the 3870X2 and the 2900 have two power connectors which are 6pin and 8pin. Read the manual. You might be looking at jumpers or sound connectors and putting power to those items will cause you to fry your good card.
