Q: What bearings should a beginner have on their skateboard?
the free ones unless your looking for speed i remember my first skateboard, i had some bones reds and they were too fast so i tightened them up to make them slower lol and now their the worst ever. but if you want some good ones then you need to know how to clean them and take them off your wheels first.
Q: trying to figure out what type of bearing could be used in a pulley system with dynamic loads exceeding 1150 lb and 540 lb.
Ball bearings manufacturers give detailed procedure on how to calculate and arrive to the proper selection. I advise to contact them and obtain their catalogues.
Q: i wannn know to see if its a good idea to try :)
We used to use gasoline to clean bearings. There are better and much safer cleaners out there now. You must grease the bearings before using them. They will fail very quickly if you don't use the proper grease.
Q: My back wheel bearings fell out of my 2009 125cc foreign pit bike!!! any help on prices, sizes, and/or maintence?
There should be a number stamped on the somewhere. Look under Wheel Bearings in your Yellow Pages and take them to a specialist. Or do it online. You may even be able to find an online wheel bearing shop if you google it and do a bit of research. I've found that most good-sized cities will have a bearing specialist or engineering shop who can help out.
Q: I have Super 6 Swiss bones bearings. I bought new rubber shields for them. I cleaned them with the bones cleaning unit and re lubed them but when i put the shields on they just wont move. They are called Non-contact rubber shields. it seems like for some reason they Are coming in contact with the bearing, what should i do?
Last time i couldn't put the bearing in the wheel i used a hammer to take out the bearing in to put it back in lol. Sorry if i didn't help you.
Q: How much would it cost to get bearings fixed on a fourtrax 250 Honda yr 2000, just a rough estimate please.?
Not sure which ones you are talking about here. If you are talking about the front bearings. Do you mean for one or both sides. Also remember this on alot of vechicals. Some are what are called pressed on and others are not pressed on. The ones that are not pressed on are alot cheaper to replace and if you and a friend are a back yard mechanics. Both of you should be able to do the job.
Q: No stupid answers please. Im an ASE master mechanic and I'm looking to hear from experienced off roaders. I'm new to offroading. I'm driving an F250 460 Bigblock 4x4. I know my u joints breaking are normal but am I to expect the same from my tie rods and front manual locking hub wheel bearings once a month if not once a week (I stay up on my alignments). I just bounced my truck three times straight sideways (that's when I really felt the wheel bearings and tie rods go out) so I know I'm very abusive but they are...well were brand new. Is there something I should do as far as suspension or aftermarket parts. I've been doing my homework but any suggestions would help. Rear axle is 30 years old and still kicking major *!*, front end not so much. I do a lot of jumping and climbing. Any suggestions would help. I have an IFS dana 44 front axle. I don't really think of a center pivot axle as IFS and I always thought it looked crappy for offroading. Could it be I need a solid axle?
no you should not be breaking wheel bearings and tie rods every couple weeks. I have done plenty of off-roading and have never busted a wheel bearing from it. unless you are jumping the truck several feet in the air and turning the steering wheel before it lands. You should not have this problem at all. either you are getting bad parts or they are being installed improperly. And as far as the IFS not being good enough I would not worry about that. The twin I-beam suspension is at least 1 of the best suspensions that you can get for off-roading (especially jumping) EDIT Yes you can beef up the tie rod ends but There is not a way to do the same for the wheel bearings that I know of. Basically if you want to treat the truck like that then you should expect to have to repair it daily. Also if the truck has independent front suspension then it does not have front leaf springs. I would think that a ASE certified mechanic could tell the difference between the 2 but I may be wrong
Q: and what are they used for?
They are inside the wheel so you have to take the wheel off the Truck and the berring is found inside the back of the wheel. They are used to make the wheels spin
Q: I bought these red bone bearings for my longboard and if i go down hill like little fast and just like carv and go side to side, will that ruin my bearings or what will thank u
Those okorder /
Q: I need at least a link because i got really good bearings
You don't need to ask the same question in three areas, two of which aren't appropriate. Are you asking how to take the bearings out of the wheel to replace them or how to open them up to clean or oil them? Unlike a couple of people have said, inline skate bearings are NOT sealed. Sealed bearings have way too much drag for inline skate or skateboard use. The method of removing from the wheel that one of them posted is just as wrong. Please clarify your question. If you want to remove them from the wheel, are the axles 6mm (1/4) or 8mm (5/16)? If you want to open them up, do the shields have a rubbery surface or metal surface? If they have a metal surface, are there a row of visible notches around the outside of the shield? Then I can tell you what you need.
