Q: Are they connected with the main bearings? Are the trust bearings only on the outer portions of the crankshaft?
The thrust BEARING (there is only one) is part of the transmission. It's separate from the main bearings of the engine.
Q: which skateboard bearings are the best?under the conditions of durability and overall performance, which ones have you used that you think are the best?
get okorder / (click the link and scroll down to the bottom where it says Reviews and click one) good luck man, hope you find what your looking for.
Q: I had just laid out 650.00 for a complete brake job at Sears for my step son's car about 3 months ago, and now his right wheel bearing is shot. I would think given the close relationship to the braking assembly to the wheel bearings, this shouldn't have been missed. Am I not understanding something here or does Sears owe me at least 1/2 off my wheel bearing job? I have just learned as well that Ford Focus also had a recall on wheel bearings for certain models. That should have been a red flag there for them if they are any type of a reputable repair service nation wide. Help me please.... I cannot afford any more repairs, but I cannot afford to have him use our cars either.
Unfortunately, unless the bad wheel bearing exhibited symptoms during the road test after the brake job, a technician would have no way of knowing that it would fail 3 months later.
Q: i have bearing that i want to use for my skates and i don't know if they will fit
As long as your inline hockey wheels do not require micro or 688 sized bearings then yes you will be able to use your skateboard bearings for you hockey skates. Keep in mind you are going to need 16 bearings total and a skateboard only has 8.
Q: Is it important to replace the rear wheel bearings both at the same time (both left and right)? Or is that only done because of convenience (to save the trouble of replacing the other one in the near future)?
Just the faulty side. Any of the others will clearly tell you when they want to be replaced. The other could go next week or 25k from now. If the fronts did not go first, then are you sure it needs replacing? It should have a tell-tale whrrrrring sound when the wheel is spun off the ground. But the acid test is it gets louder when you swerve (carefully). Louder on a right swerve means left bearing history. Louder on left swerve means right bearing history. 45mph in light traffic Except for odd-ball occurrences, the very first thing a bad bearing should tell you is your car may no longer be worth fixing. That's because all of the other fixes needed at high miles, and soon coming, cost far more than the value of additional miles. Depending on the make (like Subaru) and the use (like gravel truck) there are exceptions to that way of thinking.
Q: is there a difference between longboard bearings and regular bearings?
Not really. Regular skate- bearings take more of a beating so I tend not to buy overly expensive ones. A long board should definitely get some nice speed bearings. If you clean them regularly and keep them lubed they'll last you forever. DON'T USE WD40 TO LUBE THEM. For cleaning it's ok... because it helps protest them from rust and wear. You can actually buy a specific lube wherever you get the bearings.
Q: What Deck Trucks and Bearings n shizz would u recccomend for a street skateboader?
Deck - any brand (as long as its not walmart or others like that) 7.5 - 8 inches wide, 30 - 32 inches long Trucks - any brand that is the same size as your deck Wheels - any brand 49 - 53mm big Bearings - Bones Reds Griptape - any brand Hardware - any brand Shoes - any brand For decks I would recommend Mystery, Flip , or Baker. There are tons more, but these are my favorites. For trucks I have always rode on Ventures, but many people say Independents are the best. For wheels many people ride on Spitfires or Bones Wheels. For bearings ride Bones Reds. Cheap and good. For griptape, it depends. Mob Grip is the grippiest. I usually ride on Jessup grip. All hardware is the same. They all break eventually, just buy some cheap ones. Many people wear smaller shoes for skating because they say it is easier to control the board more. I wear 12's but when I skate I wear 10.5s. I would recommend DVS, Fallens, or Globes.
Q: how can i loosen the nuts that hold the bearings in on my hyper bike co bike?
spray some wd40 or pb blaster on it, then positioned the main appropriate sized socket on it, 6point in case you have it...and unfasten it with the ratchet...in case you choose on an prolonged ratchet cope with you will get extra leverage via putting a jack cope with or something like that over the ratchet. yet once you positioned all of it back mutually make constructive its tight yet not as tight because it rather is now
Q: 2001 ford escape wheel bearings? (rear)?
I'd agree with the previous answerer that you don't want cheap parts, after all you're the one who will be driving if they fail. Don't know where you live but in most areas you can go to one of the major auto parts stores and find the right bearings for the same price as those on the web and... the big advantage is that they can probably tell you if you'll need just the bearings or something else, plus you won't pay for shipping. One other point is that if you buy from the local store in most cases you'll find they have a warranty that will be a bit easier to use if it becomes necessary.
Q: and what bearings do you have? how long have you had them? have you done anything special to speed them up in any way to make them even faster then when you bought them (besides breaking in)?
Pig Swiss or Black Panther Swiss Spinning an unloaded wheel doesn't really tell much except if thed bearing is dirty or has failed. A larger wheel will spin for a longer period of time. Thicker lubricants will cause an unloaded bearing to spin for a shorter time, but won't be effected under loads. The only proper test is to use different bearings under identical settings. Have a rider ride down a ramp and see how far he/she goes. Unless you race longboards, skate pools or other transition skating, the need for a high speed bearing is diminished. The average street skate performs tricks around 2-3mph. Transition skaters can reach 30mph and longboards can exceed 50mph.
