Q: I need muffler bearings for the wobbler shaft, tingler valve, and kanoodler valve where o where can i find these????? Also what size of a left handed arked fiddle wrench will i need to install the headlight fluid?????
Bearings okorder . Wrench size is 7 ohms (metric, a 5 lumens std. will work as well).
Q: Long story short. I bought a truck and i'm replacing the brake rotors, calipers, pads because they are bad. Should I replace the wheel bearings while i'm at it since their already out? What is the average life of wheel bearings and how much should they cost (without labor, since i'm doing it myself).
to the best of my knowledge, you don't really need to if they are original, in good condition. the thing is, can you check and verify the condition of the wheel bearings? just because you are taking everything else in that department out, shouldn't mean you have to replace the bearings as well. BUT, if you want, if the truck has high mileage, by all means go for it. after everything's done, you might want to do an alignment job.
Q: My sister is very much into longboarding and has 4 boards, when I asked why one of them has no wheels she told me it was because she had no bearings and she needed new ones. So I want to get her some for Christmas. My question is what are bearings? Is it one size fit all, and what are the major differences if any? Also are there any department stores that may sell them?
So if you look at any of her other boards you will see in the wheels there is a metal ring that is a bearing. A bearing allows the wheels to spin. One size fits all and differences are the rating also you need 8 bearings for 4 wheels -Ratings are like ABEC, ABEC 7 bearings are more popular. I recommend 7 lower numbers are slower and I hear bad things about anything higher, although Bones Bearings(a brand) has no scale ,but trust me these are some of the best bearings you will find, I ride them and many people as well ride them. Any skate shop would sell them. Probably not department stores. I recommend Bones Reds About $18 Bones Super Reds About $25 And any lucky ABEC7 Bearings Although I HIGHLY recommend the bones reds or super reds! Another thing you could get is bearing lube..it speeds them up
Q: ok. i got a new pack of bones reds and new wheels. i dont know how to put the bearings in properly though. if I push them in all the way to where the axel goes throgh the wheel there is a good 3mm gap between the bearing and the edge of the wheel, which i'm assuming would make it difficult to get the bearings off. should the bearings go in like that or should they only go to the edge of the wheels? thanks
the bearings will go in, you hust might need to push really hard. you cant have them hanging out. worst case, you could just take it somewhere, like sneaker king and they could do it for you.
Q: i was thinking about getting some pig wheels and either some black panthers, or some bones reds wat kind do u think i should get?

Q: I know it all depends on preference, but is it worth upgrading from ABEC 5s to ABEC 7s?
It all depends on how serious you are. If you're just playing road hockey with some friends, you're probably not going to get much of a performance difference from ABEC 5 to 9. If you play competitive inline hockey, then I guess it might be worth it. Swiss bearings are better than any ABEC ones though so keep that in mind. Oh, and how clean the bearing is, and whether it still has any grease to it is just as important as the rating. Use some WD-40 on that **** and you'll be good to go.
Q: My buddy bearing popped out. I think grease got all over the wheel. How do I clean the wheel and repack the beaing with grease once I put on the new buddy bearing.
Easy-simply stick the buddy back and pump it full Hard-spin your tire with it in the air, if it sounds rough ( may be if you ran it on the road dry ) this i what you need to do to.. with that wheel jacked up take the cotter pin/hub nut off. Pull on the hub til the hub, inner/outer bearings, seal come off the spindle. Take the old bearings to a trailer parts place and get new bearings ( 10$ ). Get some bearing grease from walmart and with a latex glove on work the grease into the bearings reassemble the hub in reverse order and you ought to be god to go. Its fairly easy; I have done it on the side of the highway in 5 minutes. If you ran the trailer and the bearings ran dry youd want to replace them or you can end up on the side of the highway lookin for where your wheel went. As for cleaning the rim, good ol soap and water works fine.
Q: I bought the trailer today. It's in fairly good shape but its been sitting in a field for about a year. I'm going to get new tires, but before I take the trailer any distance at all, I need to repack the ball bearings on the axle. I could probably figure all this out by myself, but if anyone has any suggesions or can offer any help, I would certainly appreciate it.
Take them and wipe them down good and shoot them with a degreaser and wipe the down again then put a pile of High temp bearing grease in the palm of your hand and hold the bearing upright and press and roll press and roll over and over then clean up the spindle and put them back on. Good luck
Q: Car has been in the shop since last week. They've ordered the bearing according to catalog, and its wrong - so they say the spindle has been changed apparently..however my brother in law says the bearings come with numbers imprinted on them which should make it easy to replace. The garage lady says Hyundai bearings don't come with numbers...anyway, they are down to the last bearing Hyundai makes and we are waiting for that part to come and hoping it is correct....I am wondering if this is just totally nuts or does this sound correct? Shouldn't they have just taken the bearing itself to an auto parts place and matched it up? Why is this so hard? Car was originally put in the shop for a new alternator, by the way.
What type of shop did you take it to. Your personal mechanic or a Hyundai dealer. Is the car under 100,000 miles, it should be under warranty 10years 100,000 powertrain warranty and those type of bearings are powertrain. If you cant get them warrantied because of not being original owner or something stupid then just get a spindle from a junkyard have the shop your taking it to put the correct bearing in the spindle from a junkyard and that should solve your problems if there any ?'s email me
Q: I recently had a repair done to my vehicle, and on the bill, they noted wheel bearings make noise. I went back in to ask the mechanic, and he stated to me that if I drive down the road I hear a roaring noise, and those are my wheel bearings. I asked him if this is something I should get taken care of right away, and he stated, no, not until it is very loud, so loud that you cannot drown the noise out with the car radio. Is this an accurate answer, or should I take care of this sooner rather than later. Can anyone give me a ballpark figure of what it would cost to have my front wheel bearings replaced? Thank you.
As previously mentioned, have a competant mechanic check things out and replace the bad one, if it really is bad. I had a Ford Tempo that went 165,000 miles on the orginal bearings and they were still in good shape when I junked the car. I also put 267,000 miles on a Caravan and again, I never touched the front bearings. Right now my Topaz has over 100,000 miles with the orginal bearings, so I think I'd take it to someone for closer inspection. The constant velocity joint on the driveshaft will make noise when it's worn and is most noticable when turning and accellerating. I guess an inexperienced person could mistake CV noise for wheel bearing noise. I have replaced several of those things and when one breaks, you don't go anywhere. Like I said, have a competant mechanic check it out.
