- Well, what's the problem? Do you need to know how to do it? How much it cost? What are wheel bearings? You have tapered bearings. When they go bad you change the inner and outer bearing plus wheel grease seals then get them repacked. Sometimes you can just have them tightened and that fixes it

- Do your bearings still have their shields on? You might want to pop those off to let the excess grit out rather than trap them in there to create some sort of build up. It could also help to ride them again since lubing up bearings basically resets them to a new state, in which case you just need to simply break them in again. And like other posters have mentioned, Bones Speed Cream is a great recommendation for bearing maintenance. Bones have been making other quality skate products for a while now, so I'd definitely go with what they have to offer rather than something else that wasn't made primarily for skating.

- Q:I lubed my bearings, loosened trucks, loosened my wheels, now I hear a rattling noise, wheres it coming from?Its a longboard. The wheels are made of like a rubber substance, so I dont think the problem is inside the wheels. - I wouldn't do it. By soaking the bearings in solvent you dissolve the grease they're packed in. In theory you might gain a minute amount of speed because there's now less rolling resistance but the bearings won't last nearly as long. Remember there's less load on a skateboard's bearings then a bicycle's. I wouldn't do it. By the way never use gasoline as a cleaning agent, they're are a number of solvents out there which are safer and do a better job.

- depending on how far out of alignment your vehicle was it can cause severe rotation problems for the bearings and when re-aligned the worn areas of the bearings are no longer in proper position and you feel and hear them making noise, vibrating and worst of all if you continue driving on them you can destroy the hub as well and have a much more expensive repair! Having your vehicle in alignment isn't just for the sake of your tires it involves all of the suspension of the vehicle.
