- Q: what is the typical repair cost for front wheel bearings in a 1990 toyota 4runner?
- which part of the car are you talking about? the CV joint? does it knock when you turn left or right?
- Q: what are the odds of 07yukon front wheel bearing going at 87k milesi hear a minor humming that i do not believe is the tires, based on the soundit is a 4 wheel drive model, not AWD
- Chris, It is going to depend on how you drive your vehicle and where you are driving. If you think you are having issues with your wheel bearings, then I encourage you to visit your local dealership and have them checked out. Thank you, Elizabeth, GM Customer Service
- Q: Please be specific like bearings brand and type
- It depends on what you like.
- Q: okay...lemme explain...i have an experiment in my criminalistics class on improvised weaponry and I figured, hey, stupid...(that's me) this sounds like a great(dangerous and stupid, with potential for serious bodily harm) idea. Gee, wonder what would happen if I do it?(most likely,PAIN.)how much damag would this cause to a human body? car? building, such as a wood shed(mine)....can this be done? will it destroy my(roommates, cause I sure as hell wont do it to mine!) gun? anyone know how quickly the ball bearings would come out? damage they'd inflict/ etc?any help would be enormously appreciated!
- If you used a bearing the same size as the average paintball, it may not go very far. A burst of air is what propels a paintball a paintball is definitely lighter than a ball bearing. There may not be enough air pressure to propel the metal bearing. If you use a bulk of smaller bearings, like a buckshot effect, those would barely come out at all. There'd be too much air blown around the smaller bearings, resulting in little air to actually propel the bearings. The reason it wouldn't come out as fast or far as a bb or airsoft gun is because a paintball gun isn't DESIGNED to shoot bb's. In any case, it isn't a safe experiment. If you were to try it, better make sure you take every possible safety precaution. And use your own gun, either buying a used junker or something cheap. As for the damage to the gun, there'll be some scratching/denting of the breech, bolt inside the barrel. Won't exactly break the gun completely but it won't shoot paint the same afterwards.
- Q: can' not remove old bearings from the wheel hub any clues how
- Those bearings are pressed in you need to take the spindle to a machine shop and have the old ones pressed out and the new ones pressed in I have used my air chisle to get them out and my bench vise to install them but its a pain in the a$$ good luck
- Q: how do theymake steel ball bearings so perfectly round and of the same size?
- They put the molten steel into a mold that shapes it. If they want to do another one, they use the same mold.
- Q: The bearing of Y from X is 065 degrees. The bearing of Z from X is 030 degrees. XY is 15km and XYZ = 90 degrees. Work out a) XZY b) the distance YZ Is XZY 35 or 60? Or neither? I tried subtracting 90 from 30, and 65 from 30, and got those answers. Please help guys :)
- If you carefully draw it out you will find that the angle YXZ is the difference in the bearings of 65 and 30. YXZ = 65 - 30 = 35 degrees as XYZ is a right angle or 90 degrees and we know the sum of interior angles on a triangle = 180 degrees, then XZY must = 180 - 90 - 35 = 55 degrees the length YZ can be found from the tangent function tan(XYZ) = opp/adj tan 35 = YZ/15 YZ = 15tan35 = 10.5 km
- Q: Sup guys, first new thread. Anyways,i have a 2004 Honda 400ex. I noticed the other day that when i get on it and rock from side to side (stationary with engine off) the axle stays still but the rest of the quad moves and clicks sort of. It moves up and down, but not very much from side to side. Probably 1/16 side to side. And about 1/4 to 1/2 up and down. I tried tightening the jam nut or whatever its called (the left hand thread. I dont know as tht i tightened it right). But that did nothing. My rotor also moves front and. Back. I was told i need carrier bearings. I hope not because its wednesday and i have. Planned riding trip this weekend. If it is bearings, can i just tighten the nut and ride, then replace it?
- it sounds like carrier bearings. keep your chain adjusted slightly tighter than usual. you can run it some with it that way. stay out of the mud! if you're going for a looong trail ride, you should replace them. also know that if you let them go too long it gets real expensive when you eat into that carrier housing!!! i've ridden many miles on bad bearings, you just have to watch them close and run a bit easier than normal. if at all possible change them before your ride, other wise go easy, have fun!!
- Q: Anyone know the range at what I'm looking at for completely full ceramic bearings for a longboard?
- Assuming you are looking for not only ceramic balls, but inner and outer races as well. These bearings will run around $240 a set. Most bearings that called ceramic only use ceramic balls, but the races are still steel. Some cheaper 'ceramic' bearings only use a ceramic coating on the balls. You might want to think about stainless steel bearings. They are very resistant to corrosion and cost much less than full ceramic bearings, and only a little more than regular steel. SS Bearings with ceramic balls cost about double that of all SS bearings.
- Q: how long do skatebaord bearings last?
- Depends on what kinda they are. I've seen cheap $10 Abec 3s and 5s works just as fine as some Bones bearings. As long as you take care of them, they will stay in good condition. But since a decent set of bearings don't cost all that much, just use them until you feel like changing them. I've skated for 5 years and I had a set of bearings that lasted me through out the year. Bones REDS? I'm pretty sure you're familiar with the name. But they are really durable. They ain't fast, but they are durable.
