- The carpet should be replaced only when it is soiled beyond the cleaning process. Time has nothing to do with replacement.
- Q: I asked about what to cut carpet with, but now I'm questioning whether I should cut the carpet out at all. A floor lamp I had fell over and burned a hole the size of a half dollar in my apt. carpet. I want to repair it so I don't have to pay for carpet replacement. Since it's an actual hole and not just burned at the tips, do you suggest patching the carpet?

- Good luck with that one. You could try buying a cat repellant spray but not all cats are offended by it. (Didn't work with mine) I just gave up after awhile. A spray bottle might do the trick. I taught my cats to stay off the table this way. I filled up a spray bottle (buy one from the dollar store, DO NOT use a spray bottle that has had chemicals in it) and every time your cats go on the rug spray them with the spray bottle. Works great.
- Q: Some ppl recommended ABC Carpet and Home Outlet but I did not really find anything I liked. Any other options for places that I can look?Thanks!
- ikea is HORRIBLE for rugs. Ignore the first person. Go anywhere that is NOT a department store or large outlet geared towards the masses. I had a couple of outstanding purchases from our local rug store. Internet shopping was very difficult, although we did get some excellent finds on OKorder althought took 1 rug burn to know what to look for when purchasing online.
- Q: I have a heavy recliner sofa and chairs. These are on heavy metal frames which leave a a square indent in the carpet as well as the 4 corner feet. Does anyone know of any carpet protectors made especially for these type of sofas. UK

- Q: so we put the dog in a room, and you know dog scratch at the floor, well my dog scratched so much he pulled off the carpet. the carpet is still together, the padding mostly is too. Is there a solution to this?
- If it isn't torn, it might be able to be restretched and reattached to the edging....lift up the perimeter of the carpet and you should see a lath strip with tacks that hold the carpet. You can probably find instructions on the web and rent the equipment......simple device. The padding might be able to be taped back together. Zip over to pet section here on Yahoo and learn how to care for the pup. You may need to crate train the dog so it won't destroy the house when you are away. And when you are home, the dog is with you.....period. He's a member of the family.

- You okorder ... Make sure you use the Graffiti formula, not the Original. The Original formula doesn't work on ink. Krud Kutter doesn't smell bad, it's non-toxic, and the bottle will last you forever. Hope this helps. -

- I've heard that it's NOT the carpet steamer that's leaving the residue it's using too much or not the right kind of shampoo... Most people think MORE is BETTER but, that's NOT the case with carpet steamers... What happens is all the soap doesn't get picked up and eventually it dries and settles into the carpet where it attracts even more dirt particles.. So, if you use a carpet steamer cleaner just go easy on the soap and/or rinse with clean, clear no-soap water... Good luck
