Q: I have a io digital cable box and I have tatung flat screen tv so can I use the universal remote on both cuz my cable box remote broke and I still have my tv remote but I hate to use it so can I use the universal remote on both of them or just one of themand if so which universal remote brand is the best to use.thanx
when it comes to universal remotes, there should be a list somewhere on the packaging that has a list of compatible components and manufacturers on the back. that way you get the right one without having to take it back
Q: Is there a cable specification for kvvp3 * 1.5?
Jumper and patch panels are not the same thing. Patch panels generally refer to RJ45 port network patch panels, jumper frame generally refers to 110 patch panels. The former is generally used to transmit data signals, the latter is used to transmit analog voice signals' in the actual use of the two purposes can be replaced with each other: the data signal, the voice signal can all use the network patch panel, you can also use all 110 Patch panel to line.
Q: I just purchased a pontoon boat with a 1997, 90HP, 2 stroke Mercury/Tracker outboard with a bad powerhead, that I'll probably just part out.I've found a old fishing rig at a good price that has a running 2002, 40HP, 2 stroke Mercury/Tracker outboard that I am going to purchase mostly for the motor. Should the controls already on the pontoon boat work with the smaller motor? or will I have to change the controls out? I've only seen pictures of the 40HP, and they both have tilt/trim and the controls look real similiar only the one on my pontoon has quicksilver stamped on it and the other doesn't (if that makes a difference).
try it see ,mercury has always had the quick silver name ,some years they use it some years the don't
Q: I have every cord and cable hooked into all components possible and still no visual on the TV when I press the Tivo button. Help??!!
Connect the blu-ray player directly to the TV using a HDMI cable. Connect the cable box directly to the TV using a HDMI cable. These will be on different inputs on the TV. You may want to change the labels on the TV or make a note of which input is for which. For instance on my TV, video 6 is for the blu-ray player and video 7 is for the satellite box. Connect the Tivo to the TV. Be sure you use one of the OUTPUT connections. The Tivo supports s-video which will give you better quality picture than the standard yellow/red/white AV cables. However if you don't want to buy another cable, just use the standard ones. Most cable systems have started using encrypted digital cable. This means if you connect the Cable TV cable to the Tivo, it might not be able to receive anything. Give it a try, and rerun the Setup Guide so the Tivo will download the channel data for your cable system. However you may only get the local stations (e. g. ABC, NBC, PBS) For other stations you'll have to connect the Tivo to the cable box using a standard AV cable. Be sure you connect the cable to the Tivo's INPUT. In this setup, the Tivo can only record what the cable box is watching at the time. So if you want it to record an hour long show that's on at 8pm tonight, you'll make a recording to manually record from the AV input, from 8pm to 9pm. You'll need to leave the cable box on the channel you want to record - otherwise Tivo will simply record 60 minutes of whatever channel it happens to be on at the time. The Tivo may also be able to control the cable box using its IR attachment - check the Tivo manual for details. In this case, the Tivo will be able to change the channel as it normally could with the older TV/cable system.
Q: Hi there. For those of you who had cable tv in the 1990s, what was it like? Did you need a cable box? Best answer gets 10 points.
You did require a decoder box, just like you do today. Most of the stations that were cable only, were completely commercial-free, which was awesome. Channel outages and audio/video issues were much more frequent. It also wasn't quite as packaged for National consumption as it is nowwith Learning Channel, etc. You also had a lot of per-channel choicesyou could order HBO, but not Cinemax. Now, you have your choice of the company's Packages which are much more expensive. Manhattan Cable was the best. They had the freakiest local programming. During one show, some straight-laced guy would litterally sit at a desk and take phone calls, no matter how insane/obscene they were. You would never see that today. Its much more controlled and censored. Cable TV has now become such an ugly big business, thanks to Mis-management in companies like Adelphia, Cox and Comcast. Also, phone and internet services through your cable was still all but science fiction at the time.
Q: I recently tried to share files between my two PCs (one with Vista; the other XP) through a straight cable with default OS configuration. It worked. Then I tried connecting my XP PC with another XP PC, neither of them responded. Does that mean Vista automatically converts a pc into a hub in that case no cross-over cable is needed?
cables are not controlled by the operating system windows vista has nothing to do with it. in fact, windows cannot tell at all - it is completely controlled at the hardware level. some network cards (more and more) espeically hubs and routers now automatically switch if needed.

Q: any solutions for this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Most control boxes have the ability to either put the cables above or below the fulcrum of the control lever, also the cables may enter the control box from either the front or the rear. Some boxes have cable entry from below only, from under the panel and out of view. These will also have two possible hookup points, at least there is a 50/50 chance of getting it right every time! Assuming the cable has been replaced on the original entry point to the box, you have placed the shift cable on the wrong side of the fulcrum. Change the cable to the opposite side of the fulcrum and you will reverse the shift direction. There is not really any other possible cause other than you have placed a cable in the wrong place on re-assembly. And it is not that hard to do that - even when you have done it a lot!! :)
Q: Hello. I have Time Warner Cable. I accidentally activated closed captioning with my remote control, and I don't know what I did to activate it. I tried contacted TWC customer service about it and I did what they told me to do, and it didn't help. How do I get closed captioning off my TV? Please let me know. Thank you. :D
check the settings on you tv and turn off cc, or if you have a cable box check in the stting to see if it is on there as well
Q: I have a television in my bedroom but no cable plug. The room next door has a cable outlet and no tv. Is there any way I could get cable on the one television without running any wires? Price is really unimportant to me right now. Thanks in advanced for your help.
the simplest thing you can do is run a splitter into that room, you'll spend about $10 on everything you need. also, if you have a HDTV you can get free high definition channels that are broadcasted for free with a regular antenna if you have one of the old tv's, you can buy one of those converter boxes now for the expensive solution, buy a TV card for your computer, hook up your cable box to it and make sure everything works, then through Windows Media Center you can share movies/videos/pictures and TV to any other computer in the house (though your wireless signal in your house), which will also require you to connect a computer to the other TV in that room, hopefully being a HDTV with a VGA input for your computer it's going to be expensive, and use more power as you will have to keep the computers on all the time to have the TV always on easiest thing is to just buy a splitter and run the wires to that room. hope that helps, its long because there really isn't a simple solution.
