Q: I bought one and I have to wear earplugs to use it. It doesn't work all that well, either, just good enough. I'm thinking of taking it back. Any suggestions for a good stick vacuum? My case on my Hoover was cracked really badly (where it meets the handle) - that's why I bought the Shark.: Don't go back to Hoover - eventhough they're good vacuums - becuase they can be just as loud....depending on the model, I guess. I hope you have better luck in finding a better one; I'm still searching for something that rids of dirt, not my eardrums.

I've always wondered about them, I may do the 30 day trial some day, but I'd like to find out more about them first.: Orecks are decent vacuums, but you have to understand their not as powerful as other vacuums because they have a small motor which allows them to be so lightweight. But overall a good vacuum.

Q: i heard that the motor filter are recommanded to change cos they clog up dust easily n cant wash with water. is there any other cons of dyson machines that you plp can help to list?: I've had a Dyson for over a year and have not had any problems. You have to keep emptying the dirt container because I've noticed the machine will slow down a bit if it is not emptied in a timely manner. I am very hard on vacuum cleaners and I probably should have gotten a less expensive vacuum, but time will tell.
