The whole thing, canister, filters, and hose can be washed. I use it for our vehicles and the whole house. And when there's a water spill somewhere, just empty the canister and suck up the water. Costs around $60.

You have to keep emptying the dirt container because I've noticed the machine will slow down a bit if it is not emptied in a timely manner. I am very hard on vacuum cleaners and I probably should have gotten a less expensive vacuum, but time will tell.
