Q: eSata means you connect the drive from outside the case. If so, what kind of cable do you use for power, assuming you're not opening up the case to use the regular molex connectors?
Most okorder /
Q: The computer is a Hp compaq. So I took the connector out of the computer but left it in the power socket. When I tried to reinsert the connector I hit the metal back panel of the computer and it made contact so I was wondering what is the part(s) that is likely to be broken?I want to know it so I can replace the damaged parts. Thanks in advance of your help.
The power cable should have enough rubber/plasitc to stop contact with power supply directly unless you seen a spark I would try the a different cable. Is the power supply turned on? If it did spark and is turned on try swapping the power supply. Actually I missread, it touched the case itself so now you have to start swapping all parts starting with the power supply, then motherboard if that doesnt work. I hope you have some spare parks around. you could also take out the power supply and you will see a long 24-pin connector you can short the 1 green wire with a black one to see if the power supply turns on. The connector is a cable comming from the PSU not on the motherboard. And lastly each time you try to start the computer after swapping somthing only have the essentials to have it start. No CD drive extra HDD etc.
Q: Okay so I'm production manager for a play in Oxford and I need to have a giant cardboard box drop from the ceiling triggered by an actor with a remote control on stage.I've found a rather nice electromagnet which should do the job which is triggered by a 9V battery. The trigger is an IR unit I'm building which finishes with a relay. The question is can I use a sound XLR cable as the wires in my circuit between the battery with the IR unit and the electromagnet?i.e.Electromagnet -----XLR-----gt; battery -------XLR-----gt; IR unitStandard XLR's do have 3 cables in and surely I only need 2 to complete the circuit. The only reason I'm thinking about using XLRs is that I'm not sure of the distance between things yet and I have plenty of XLRs in many different lengths.Any ideas?
Yes, you can use your XLR cables and plugs and connectors for a low power 9VDC application. Before you start doing all this, just make sure how many ohms your electromagnet coil has. If it is below 20 ohms, then you can not use a small 9V battery - you need a larger, more powerful battery, such as a stack of 6 AA cells that would easily deliver 1 A or more.
Q: Copper and Aluminum are being considered for the cables in a high-voltage transmission line where each must carry a current of 50A. The resistance of each cable is to be .15ohms per kilometer.A. If the line carries power from Niagra Falls to New York (500Km), mow much power is lost along the way in the cable? Compute for each choice of cable materialB. the necessary cable diameterC. mass per meter of cable Please correct if you see anything that may be offSolving for part a:Power = I deltaV, since deltaV was not given IR=deltaVso Power = (I^2)R = 50^2 x 75 = 187.5 kW lt;-- answerR= 75 since R= .15 ohms/ km x 500kmB) resistivity of copper = 1.7 x 10^-8 ohm m resistivity of al = 2.82 x 10^-8 ohm m R = (resistivity x length)/Areawhat do i use for R? is it the 0.15 ohm/km or 75 ohm?using the 75 ohm as R, I get that the radius of the copper wire is 0.0000361 m and the diameter is then 0.0000722.Am i on the right track?
I think you went wrong with the length. If R= (resistivity x length)/Area, make sure you are using length as 500,000m as the units should be in meters, not km. R is going to be 75 ohms because you are considering the entire length. Then solve for area and radius.
Q: what wattage do you need, how many power cables going into the graphics card and what type etc
The psu in your pc will need to be supplying between 450 and 500 watts.
Q: I don't have the power cable no more..its an 8 pin power cable and it has on the back120v24v12v5vits a round adaptor and it looks like an old computer keyboard but it has 8 pins.thanksromeo
Sounds like you need a standard S-Video Cable, available just about anywhere. We can get them locally at the 99cent only store, walmart, target, ect
Q: Hey guysA 6mm power cable can hold up to 25A, but, if a product draws a maximum of 4A, in theory, can this 6mm be reduced? If so, by approx how much?Cheers, much appreciated!! :)
Your wire has to be matched to the circuit breaker. If you have a 15 amp breaker you need #14 wire. Otherwise you could overload the wire and burn it out and the CB wouldn't blow.
Q: What are the advantages and disadvantages of separating 28Vdc, 200A positive power cables and returns into two different harnesses?
WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT ? ALL DC POWER SOURCE REQUIRES TWO SEPARATED CABLES .
Q: cables? Power strip? thanks
cable or direct TV you need a new converter box. I have cable and it is $5 a month more. Lady at work has Direct TV adn the box is $100 a year more. It has many more cable connections to the back to the Tv and does improve the quality and picture. Power strip option. You can but I do not..... Good luck.
Q: I blew 2 fuses in my amp in my car, i have replaced them both, one was a 30amp and the other a 20. The 30 amp was an inline fuse from the battery to the amp and the 20 amp was a standard 20 amp fuse in the amp. As i said i replaced both fuses and try the amp again and it wouldnt go. There is a LED light on the top just lighting up a logo, when i attatch the power from the battery the light goes off and when i disconnect it the light comes on. When i dissconect the power the red light for diagnose comes on.
This sounds like a wiring problem i reccomend you completly inspect all wiring to your amp if looks fine then use a test light and test all the wiring if all passes then your problem is within the amp itself. test the remote wire with stereo to car on if wired that way.
