Q: I have 22x8.5 rims to go on my impala. I tried to put them on but the back strut mount was sitting on my tire. So how do I lift the back without putting a lift on my car to keep it from scrubbing. I was told that I could get a bottle jack and push that lip up and out if the way, but Idk how to do this. Any tips?P.s. I also tried taking it to a tire shop but they couldn‘t do it so.
This Site Might Help You. RE: How to lift my impala to fit 22s? I have 22x8.5 rims to go on my impala. I tried to put them on but the back strut mount was sitting on my tire. So how do I lift the back without putting a lift on my car to keep it from scrubbing. I was told that I could get a bottle jack and push that lip up and out if the way, but Idk how to do.
Q: i was planning on getting some 22‘s for my 2003 infiniti Q45, just wanted to know if im going to have to lift my car, or use spacers. hopefully they fit right in there without rubbing! thanks for any help/advice you have.
Lift your car? No lol. Actually even with 22's you lower the car not lift it. Your stock suspension should be fine. You should get wheel spacers though and longer studs so you can put the wheel on.
Q: I‘ve noticed fewer and fewer car owners change oil at home. My old red steel car ramps were stolen out of my garage last month.I‘ve been changing my own oil since I got my license back in 1970.It‘s like a bad habit you can‘t stop, not fun in January. My old rampshad a 8 inch lift. I did find these Rhino ramps at a garage sale that havethe 12,000 limit. They only have a 6 inch lift like the set they also sellat Walmart. I suspect they are for a pickup truck that only need a few inchesclearance. I had this crazy idea to put some 2 x 4 x 12 on the garage floorand drive up on them first to get me at 8 inch lift. Any home oil changers haveany rituals getting under a small car. I would rather not use a floor jack and stands, not many strong spots on a front wheel drive car. I am watchingCraiglist for a used set.
There are plenty of solid lift points on front wheel drive cars, the entire frame of the trans-axle assembly is a very solid lift point. Then stands can be placed on the major sub-frame bracing points under the body of the vehicle.
Q: I have a work colleague who lives not to far from me. They used to catch public transport to and from work before i joined the company. They asked me to give them a lift home after work, and now it has become the norm. Whilst this person seems ok, they have had the nerve to ask me to pick them up on the way in (which i refused), also they now expect that i will take them home all the time. They even have the nerve to have a go at me when they had thought i left without them. They do not give me petrol money (not that i would ask), or even offered over the last few months. They also wait around after work on purpose when i stay late. What would u do in my situation? I don‘t mind this person, but do believe they are taking advantage of a free ride!!
Well I have done similar things and here is my take on it. I am a decent person i give a person a free ride or two if they need it everyone needs a ride from time to time vehicle inspection in the shop etc. But this person is making it a regular thing and really they should pay something towards your cost. Ask them to for a small amount a portion of your cost. I was charging 30 dollars a week for a 4 mile commute.
Q: Im not sure which strength is better. emotional or physical. physical helps out very well through out your life. but emotional seems like you could accomplish somthing huge in the moment, and we've all heard the story of the grand lifting the car that her grandson was stuck under.
Neither is better. In order to be truly strong, you need strength of mind, body, and will/resolve (spirit). One without the others is like a cart with two wheels - it is either one that does not move at all without resistance, or a rickshaw that you will continually pull, exerting energy on pulling it rather than on improving.
Q: To me the car sits a little too low to the ground. The car has gas shocks(never heard of them). So how would I be able to get my car lifted at least an inch? And what all will I need to purchase?
the gas shocks are only for performance wise, to differ the height of your ride, you will need to either purchase or modify the springs
Q: All year my moms car soon to be mine has had a large rattling/bumping noise in the back of the car it wasn't so bad to began with but now you can hear it just driving down the street. They say that it is the catalytic converter and that I need a new one dose this sound right if it is whats a good price to pay and if it isn't whats wrong?
If the catalytic converter is making a rattling noise you need to have it replace before it comes completely apart inside and plugs up the exhaust system.
