- Q: I've bench pressed for many years and encountered this problem over the past 2months.During my first set I will get pretty intense pain in my right bicep. It will be fine after the 2nd set but never the less it is very uncomfortable, could lead to joint damage and reduces how much I can do on my chest during the session. How can I resolve this problem? Why is it happening?
- Well first off it could be from any number of things, now you say you have been lifting for years so im sure you know that the tricep is the secondary muscle when benching, however depending on how wide your grip is, and what the position of your arms are at the bottom of the press can put more strain on muscles other than your chest and tris, therefore your biceps could be called in to the press, ask someone to watch you and when let them know when the pain starts, is most intense, and when it starts to go away throughout the rep. then try moving around your grip and and relying on stricter form and have them watch you again and see if the point of pain changes, lessens, or increases. None the less you should talk to a sports injury specialist, NOT YOUR GENERAL PHYSICIAN, nothing against them, but those that are in the sports medicine field study specifically that.
- Q: What are some of the most pressing issues for high school students and what can be done about them to change them? Originality is a must!
- for our son is to be liked and grades .. we tell him treat others like u want to be treated and don't say something that hurts others.. grades work hard but have fun at it.. use music and songs to help u remember things.. acronims (spelling bad) just remember who will remember the minor stuff in 10 yrs.
- Q: I'm thinking of getting my dad a french press, but am afraid he'll have to get all new coffee grounds since I read they require coarser grinds. Is that true? He has so many other coffee already ground up for his drip coffee maker. Thanks.
- absolutely. if you use regular drip grounds, they'll seep through the filter. eww. maybe look into getting him a new drip coffee maker, or get him a grinder AND a french press? if you get him a grinder though, make sure it's a Burr grinder. those are the best and grind the most evenly.
- Q: I was watching TV and decided TO turn it to HDMI To play PS3But i accidentally pressed RGB and now it says NO SIGNAL and it turns off. I tried unplugging and plugging it again, it doesnt work and And i Pressed HDMI button or tv buttonIt still doesnt work

- Q: What muscles are actually helping me bench press? triceps? biceps? and what else... How can it be the chest.... if it does not move at all or anything... Today there was some really skinny guy in the gym , and he was benching more than i could... So i thats why i am asking this... He did not had more muscles than me at all.... thanks
- yes your right about tricept they are a huge part of bench press there is not much biscep activity many people with stronger tricepts will move there hands closer and farther out with stronger chests there are many mucles in the shoulder and back that have play a big part as well, lats and deltoid mostly
- Q: Its kind of a requirement. I also need to increase my squat as well as everything else. How many days should i be bench pressing and squating?
- Lift once or twice a week, anything else is overkill. You can of course split it up, do upper body on Monday/Thursday, lower body on Tuesday/Friday. If you work out more than that you're really just making it harder on yourself. Your body needs time to recover, that is unless you're taking steroids, then you can work out every day if you want. If you go at the torrid pace outlined in the answers above you'll actually be breaking down muscle for energy during your workouts, which is exactly what you don't want to do when you want to increase pure strength. Diet is also as important as your workout, eat plenty of protein, complex carbs and lots of fruits and veggies. Stay away from high fatty and sugar foods.

- Q: a few days ago i was racking up weights on the leg press machine but my gym teacher stopped me and told me that the leg press is bad for the joints and introduced me to the dead liftso im wondering:is the leg press really bad for the joints? (i was gonna leg press 3x my body weight,360 i weigh 120 lb, im dead serious! i cant gain weight for some reason :(,ps im not trying to brag))will the deadlift make a good substitution(for the leg press)?thanks!!
- i assume you are talking about doing squats. It is a great exercise for the legs, but it can be hard on the lower back. The dead lift is used by powerlifters as it is said to stimulate muscle fibers in every part of the body including the legs. But use proper form because this lift is also hard on the lower back. A leg press machine minimizes back injury issues, but your coach is right. Heavy lifting is hard on the joints. As for weight gaining, that is a seperate issue.
