- The whole key to this answer is fuel. If you live where you can get lp or natural gas to the house then go with the generac whole house with automatic switch. I mean a constant supply like city gas or propane. NOT FROM A TRUCK. The trucks will not run if your in the middle of a hurricane or other types of storms If you have to use propane from a tank, rent the largest one available. A 300 pound tank will only last 4 days under full load. Gasoline is dangerous and to hard to keep fresh.

- 6000 watt would probably cover it, especially if you bought a gas stove. Generators are designed to run for long periods, but I would suggest you shut it down at night - it would probably be too loud to sleep anyway. Personally I would also tend to install batteries and an inverter and some small solar panels too - you could get away with a smaller generator to just charge the batteries but it would probably cost more overall.

- Q: I am designing the system to produce electricity for a computer room with 40 PC and 40 LCD screens. The needed power is about 15 KW (20 hp). My system consists of a compressor, a compressed air tank, a turbocharger and a mini gas turbine.
