- Q: My radiator started leaking and now my carpet is pretty much ruined. I've heard nothing but good about the Rug Doctor machine, but I don't know anything about using or renting the machine. Does anyone know how much it'll cost? Are the attachments needed in order to work the machine? Does the cleaning solutions come with it or is it an additional charge? Also any additional info about the machine would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

- Q: I live in Denver, Colorado. What is the average $ amount per yard of carpet for apartment grade carpet?What are some prices? I know they don't all go through the same company, but at about what average price is it sold at per yard for apartments?
- I don't live in the states but if you are looking at carpet... I would look at the density of the carpet and the material used to make it. in the synthetic material you tend to have the Olefin being the bottom end, polyester being the middle and Nylon being the top. If you want to save money but let it last longer upgrade the underpad and use a less expensive carpet. The extra thickness in the underpad will extend the life of the carpet
- Q: My roommate used a rug doctor to clean the carpet, she is a complete cleaning novice, and did it while i was at work. She sprayed to much of the cleaning liquid and left us with slightly damp carpet, it now smells. I have been spraying it with febreeze, but it doesn't seem to be helping too much.I was planning a dinner for some friends on friday night, but it's just embarrassing. Is there anyway i can at least minimize the smell by then?
- Throw some borax on the carpet. It will do two things, absorb the odor and kill any mold/mildew spores that are festering in the damp carpet. I would position some large fans to dry the carpet out as well because the padding under the carpet staying wet will inevitably start mold growing. Leave the borax on there as long as you can and once the carpet is dry vacuum it up. It won't damage the fiber or the color either.
- Q: I have been searching online forever, I'd love some outside advice. I'm looking to lend some color to my otherwise boring rooms. The color scheme is dark wood, neutral tan walls, sage green(sofa). I have some old club chairs in a light beige sage green diamond pattern, very muted.I've been trying to add color - I've looked at Target, Kohls, Pier 1....I love greens, reds, oranges...If you're in the mood to decorate, would you post me some links of curtains/pillows/rugs you think would do well?
- I okorder and type in Wall Decores or Wall Decals and there u can get alot of different decals to fix up a room..Just stick the ones u want on the wall and it adds alot to any room..look at the different pictures that the sellers have up to give u some extra ideas...Hope this helps u out..Godbless
- Q: so funny story haha. i was at softball practice last night at an indoor facility. The ground is made of an astroturf- carpet type material. the drill was to practice sliding on a piece of cardboard. i however slid a bit too early and skinned my thigh on the carpet/astroturf stuff.Now i have a giant burn thing about the size of my fist on my right thigh. It oozes constantly (which is extremely gross!) Last night i slept with it uncovered hoping it would dry up a bit, but it didn't. i taped a piece of medical gauze over it today for school, but it oozed right through! Also, when i went to take it off, the gauze was stuck right to it, and i had to yank it off hard, and it hurt soooo badd. i really don't want to have to do it again! Can someone please tell me how to make the pain go away (it burns!), make it dry up, and stop oozing? I've skinned myself before, but this is the worst one i've ever had.

- Q: I was painting my nails this morning with bright pink nail varnish and i dropped it and it splashed all over my cream carpet, bed and white draws i have sorted the bed and staws out but the carpet is left!i have tried nail varnish remover but it smudged it! would 1001 work? what else?
- If there's a lot then you may struggle. Use nail polish remover and have plenty of clean white cloths. An old white sheet, cut up, is ideal. Don't use coloured cloth or you could end up transferring dyes. Put enough remover on the affected are to soften the varnish then rub from the outside edge of the stain towards the middle. (If you rub from the centre outwards you will simply enlarge the stained area.) Repeat this again and again, using a clean piece of cloth each time. Don't use brushes or scrub the area hard - if you damage the pile you can't put it right.
