Q: Grr Overstock wont ship here so i had a 8x10 ft rug shipped to my Moms house...from there I was going to pay to have it shipped here to Guam. But no Fedex wouldnt ship it and UPS either the dementions are either too small or too big. =( then i got hopeful bc a neighbor said OKorder ships here. So I got all excited when I found the same exact zebra print rug on OKorder... but of freaking course it cant be ship[ped here....can someone just bring me a dern black and white zebra print rug ? =( I now have island fever.
Cut it into smaller pieces and carry it home yourself then carpet glue or tape it back together. Why not use the local product - Guamanian striped and zoned in black. Why kill yourself over a dumb rug?
Q: When we finally peeled it off, it left behind all the stuff that was under it including pieces of the fuzzy part. Anyone know what I can use to get it off?? Right now my hubbs and I are scraping it off but it is taking forever. Thanks in advance!!
I know exactly what you are saying, if these rugs are left on a wet or humid floor they will stick to it ,and when you wash them they make a mess in the washer, to remove the sticky stuff from the floor spray some white vinegar on it and scraping gently this will take care of it . The next time that you buy a rug , get one with no backing , 100% cotton this will not stick to the floor.
Q: i spilled a little bit of color shine for shoes and its black how do i get it out i spilled it on a carpet in my mom and dads room. HELP!!!
Look in your cleaning closets to see if you have carpet cleaners--then foam it on and follow the directions.
Q: I have new carpet in my apartment. When I try to vacuum, it clogs my vacuum. Should I get a better vacuum or not vacuum at all?
Your new carpet is doing a natural thing .. It s called pilling and fuzzing. Very common in staple type carpet. Most carpets are staple products. It will stop shortly unless there a defect in the carpet ( rare but it happens) Defiantly keep vacuuming. It s the best thing for carpets. Manufactures actually say to vacuum every day( YEAH LIKE THATS GOING TO HAPPEN LOL) GL
Q: paint on carpets
by cutting that piece off and replacing it
Q: hi guys. so i have a brand new rug i put in the living room. but sadly.. i think it must be the new thread smell.. or the smell of what it was wrapped in.. because it smells quite stale.. and is giving me a headache. this is my first apartment. and i dont have experience cleaning rugs.. can someone explain a good way to get rid of the smell.. astringents to buy.. or something to kind of wash the rug without staining or ruining it.. i can do it by hand.. i just dont know the correct approach.ps. i have a rite aid next door. so if i should get something there to clean it.. please let me know!also, whats a good cleaner to buy for a toilet bowl? i need some good advice thank u!
Is this the same rug I just answered about? I didn't know it was brand new! I assumed it was just old and funky. Try Carpet Fresh or any sprinkley carpet freshener. If it is really giving you a headache it is most likely just new fiber smell. Kinda like new car smell but different materials. In which case it will fade soon enough. but if it is really making your head hurt, take it outside and lay it out in the sun for a day or two. The ultra violet rays should cook off that new fiber smell a bit.
Q: 2 days ago our carpet started leaking. None of our pluming goes underneath it which amazes us. We have no money for plumbers or anyone to check on it. We do have a water heater next to it but its in ground. and we check on it every 2 days and there are no leaks leading to it.
Carpet doesn't leak. Period. If it's water, it's coming from somewhere. Not finding the problem and leaving the carpet wet will cause: Mold to grow on the carpet. The carpet will delaminate (the layers of woven material and backing will come apart). Your pad will get really stinky. This is a potential health hazard, at minimum it could cause allergies and rashes. I'd say this isn't something to ignore, the moisture is coming from SOMEWHERE, you need to figure out what is causing it and stop it. Then, you'll need to dry out the carpet. If the pad is wet you need to pull the carpet off the tack strips that run around the edges of the room and remove any pad that is wet. The pad will need to be replaced and the carpet restretched into the room.
Q: I need a purple or black rug for my room. not a huge one but just for the side of my bed. I have been searching all over the place for one. price range uo to 30$ . Thank you and the best site with the cheapist price WILL be rewarded 10 pnts.

Q: I am moving into a new house and the landlord left his red curtains behind and I do not plan on replacing them. What color throw rug can I purchase to match them? My couch is a tan color and I usually like neutral tones, which is probably why the red curtains are throwing me off. Any suggestions? (Would like a rug that would work with several color schemes)
Purchase a rug that you love to match your own furnishings in your desired color pallet. It will be your rug long after the red drapes are a memory, so ignore the drapes you do not like when selecting the rug. However, to incorporate the red drapes while spending a minimum amount of effort and money, just go out and purchase a couple of pillows that have slight red accents and place them on the couch. Purchase a red candle, put it on the coffee table and you are done with the red. Pillows in your color scheme are available at Pier One in many sizes and styles. See? It is that easy. Don't over think it.
Q: Refreshing my memory been a while so wondering how to lay carpet with a seam. Don't have enough carpet so have some extra carpet that looks the same that I need to use so wanting to lay the carpet with a seam so all the carpet will look as one.
Practice - practice - practice First, the carpet pieces all need the fibers going in the same direction....if you can't do that, it won't matter how skilled you are at seaming a carpet, the piles running different dirctions will stand out. Clean cuts - you need a clean cut along the seam, on BOTH pieces to get them to look good when they are joined. Two kinds of tape - adhesive, and 'carpet' tape (which needs a seaming iron). BEFORE the carpet is stretched for the room, the adjacent pieces of carpet need to be joined. This involves making a straight, clean cut on both edges - this cut should match identically. I achieve this by overlapping the two pieces, and using a straight edge, cut through both layers at once. (You need a VERY sharp blade). Next, apply the seaming tape to the underside of the carpet. I prefer to use the professional grade carpet tape, and I own all the necessary carpet tools to do this. If you do not own them, they can be rented from a local business that rents tools and equipment. I wouldnt make the investment in tools for one room of carpet. If you are using carpet tape, cut it to fit the length of the seam (actually allow it to extend beyond the ends of the seam, for a couple of inches) Plug in the seaming iron, allow it to heat up, and then place it UNDER the carpet, but ON the tape. As the seaming iron heats up the tape, slide it along the length of the seam, pulling the carpet edges together behind it, and press them firmly into the tape. (A roller is handy for this) Do NOT overlap the edges, do NOT allow them to pucker...this is why a good clean cut is so important. Allow the tape to cool, and then you can stretch the carpet and trim it out. Have Fun
