- Q: How to clean the large carpet at home?
- forwool or wool blending blanket, detergent should be used ; other blankets should use washing powder (high foam, and dirt remover). wet the carpet and lat flatpaving, brush with soft brush dipped in detergent solution (water dissolved detergent) brush blanket from the edge, cannot leak, otherwise the effect will be affected. rinse and brush (ture on the water from the hose and brush with a soft brush ), insure the detergent on every spot. wash and push the carpet with a piece of flat wood. Rinse blanket, spray a few drops of water added vinegar on the carpet to remove residual washing liquid, antibacterial disinfection. squeeze water as much as possible with plank, hang it to dry it, drying as soon as possible, when the carpet is completely dry, lay flat and brush with a soft brush toward one direction to make it more organized and neat.
- Q: If my room is 18x19 feet and the carpet cost is $27.77 per square yard and the installation coat is $ 175.00 . How much would it cost to install the carpet ??????
- multiply 18x19 =342 sq'. Then divide that by 9 (the number of sq' in a sq' yard) =38 yards. 38 x $27.77= $1055.26. + $175.00 =1230.26 The carpet folks may say you need a bit more carpet depending on which direction they can run it in the room, matching carpet patterns, and width of carpeting, etc.
- Q: My radiator started leaking and now my carpet is pretty much ruined. I've heard nothing but good about the Rug Doctor machine, but I don't know anything about using or renting the machine. Does anyone know how much it'll cost? Are the attachments needed in order to work the machine? Does the cleaning solutions come with it or is it an additional charge? Also any additional info about the machine would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
- Okay I have used one before I owned my own carpet cleaner. I really liked it. The cleaning solutions are an extra charge. I don't remember getting any attachments. I think when I rented one it was like $60 plus the solutions.
- Q: We've recently moved houses and have found there is sandflies/biting insects everywhere. Into the afternoon my TB mare especially is being eaten alive by the insects and is rubbing herself on the fences and she now is starting to loose her coat because of it. I'm looking at buying at coat for her that we can put on her to hopefully stop the insects but as well the sun, but I have know idea what type of rug I should get her... We live in a really hot and humid area so we need something cool. Is there anyone who can help??
- There are several types of rug you can get. Weatherbeeta make an insect shield rug. They also make a range of mesh rugs, as do other brands. I just use a simple 60% cotton summer sheet on my horse in summer. That keeps the insects off him.
- Q: We just bought a new rug from IKEA 7ft by 7ft, and its a plush rug...we bought it because our 9 month old son started crawling and his knees were getting tore up from our carpet...The rug we have it awesome, but when he crawls over it, little pieces of fuzz come from it and he balls it up and tries to eat it..and it sheds all over our carpet and is really annoying....it was a pain in the *** to bring home being soo long, i dont want to take it back, is there something i can use to make it not fuzzz off? We vaccum and vaccum and it makes it worse it seems...HELP PLEASE!!!

- Q: The carpet will go in a finished basement. The basement has bare concrete right now.
- There probably won't be a preparation other than cleaning, but you need to be sure the floor is pretty dry and likely to stay that way. If you have never seen water or dampness on the floor- good. If you have seen dampness, you have a potential for mildew. Be sure the carpet you buy is all synthetic. If there are any natural fibers in it, the materials will hold water and promote rot. Most carpets of today are all synthetic. The tack strip is nailed directly to the concrete. Pad is taped into place, and a few people use a string of adhesive to help hold it in position. The carpet is installed just as it would be upstairs on wood, but the labor is a bit higher. Some carpets are glued down, all that requires is a moisture proof adhesive; again- fairly normal.
- Q: I want to have like a bright teal color of carpet in my bedroom but I'm having troulbe finding it. Does anyone know where I can find some? Thank you!lt;3
- If you mean wall to wall carpeting, you just have to check at carpet stores until you find the colour you want. They might or might not have every colour in stock but you can look at their samples. If you mean an area rug, it will be really hard to find. I looked for a teal-tone area rug for a couple of years until I found one at Ikea. You can have carpet off a roll cut to size and bound on the edges, too, for an area rug.
- Q: Our family just moved into an apartment with 4 year old carpet (the manager verified the installation date). We plan on moving in 4 years when my husband is done with medical school. Therefore, the carpet would be 8 years old. We would like to pay to replace the carpeting, but the manager is claiming that the carpeting we are looking at isn't quot;commercial gradequot; and that it won't last after we move. The manager also claims that the carpeting that is currently installed could potentially last another 4-8 years. The current rule here is that if you damage the carpet and it must be replaced within the first 7 years, you must pay x/7 of the value. My question is: If we trash our carpet and move out in 4 years, they won't be able to charge us. Why can't I just replace it now with carpeting that I like? Does this sound right? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
- One reason you can't replace is because it isn't yours..you are only renters and until you get permission there really isn't much you can do If the carpet is bad, I would take pictures with or video with the date on them on hold on to that until you move out and get your deposit. He can't make you pay for normal wear and tear on carpet.
- Q: I have never washed a winter rug and my horses really needs doing but I'm not quite sure how !?Dry cleaners ?In the bath tub? (by hand) The washing machine looks to small... and I do not want to wreck it !!!Thankkss xx
- ive never actually washed any of my rugs, but i hose down my saddle blankets. yo could always waterblast it, thatd be sure to get the hair out. if i out even a small saddleblanket in the washign machine, there seems to be hair on anythign that comes out of the machine for the next few washes. so i wouldnt put the rug in anything that isnt used solely for horse supplies
- Q: New carpeting was just laid in the place I just moved into, and it smells like there's mold either in the carpeting or padding, I'm not sure which. I'm guessing it's the carpeting.Does anyone know if a solution of white non-sudsing ammonia would kill the mold?If not is there anything I can do about it without having to call in a professional?
- If the carpet isn't hairy, and you don't smell anything odd, tell your Mom, The carpets fine. And get the dog trained, or that will cause an odor. She's old enough to be completely housebroken.
