- i went to the home depot and they were SOOOOOOOOOO helpful and honest (since they pay an outside contractor to do the work, they dont try to bs you more). it will cost a lot to do stairs... the carpet comes in precut rolls of so many feet. what they SHOULD do is first come out to your house and chart the rooms... the contractor that did ours had a handheld device that he keyed the lengths into and it calculated the best way to lay the carpet out with the least excess... and seaming. if the flooring underneath is bad, they will not install over it. ours was plywood and just fine. ask about tear out and disposal fees for the old carpet. also ask about removal of furnature. the contractor we had charged like $100/item. $50 for a lamp. make sure to get a water retardant pad. do scotchguard!

- Instead of investing in a rug doctor try some pet stain and odor eliminator to treat the areas and then some pet OFF which smells terrible and the dog won't go there again. The dog needs to be able to go outside or given an area to go. My dog can stay inside for 10 hours or more and waits for me to let him outside because I praise him when he wants to go out.

- Ask the Home Depot people, too, cause they know all the latest stuff, but that Resolve worked for me with other stains. If you ever drop something like that again (a dry powder), vacuum it up first. Then, use the carpet stain remover. good luck.

- I'm sure you could figure it out, but it would depend on a lot of variables (i.e. total diameter of roll, width of carpet, etc). Would probably be much easier to unroll it in all honesty.

(I'm converting it all to inches) Room #1 : 10'6 X 29'2 126 X 350 44,100 Room #2: 11'8 X 12'10 140 X 154 21,560 Closet #1: 7' X 2'4 84 X 28 2,352 Total area = 44,100 21,560 2,352 Total = 68,012 one sq foot is 12 X 12 = 144 So.... 68012/144 = 473 sq. ft. If we assume a standard 12' width for our sq ft then we need a length of: 473/12= 39.4 feet and this would be Best Case Scenario To figure your Worst Case Scenario you could just assume you'll be using the width of 12 feet for each cut ( room) and just pull off of the roll the length you need to do the whole room. This means, we only need to add the lengths to figure how many feet pulled off of the rolls we require. 29'2 + 12'10 + 2'4 350 + 154 + 28 = 532 44.3 feet pulled off the rolls.

- If okorder but I'm not sure. The problem with ordering rugs online is that they can look so different in person than what they do in the pictures. Colors can be very deceiving, so you should have a good idea of what you want and what will work in your space. I ordered a rug online not too long ago. It was wonderful, and I was not disappointed in the colors. It simply did not look right in my living room. The pattern of the rug fought with the contemporary art work I wanted to highlight. The rug was a terrific buy through The Foundary. It was a $1,000 New Zealand wool that I got for $400.00. If you aren't familiar with The Foundary by Hayneedle, go to their website. You sign up to get their special sales, which last only a few days. But they have some great bargains. I sent the rug back. It cost $27, and Fed Ex picked it up. That wasn't too bad, considering I got to try it out and the rug would have been a terrific value had it worked. I had to find out, though. The cost to ship it back didn't break the bank, but it was a pain in the ____ to get it packaged - had to be rolled and folded, and repackaged in the original plastic and paper.
