Q: Last night i cleaned my carpet using a carpet cleaner, and it all seemed to go very well leaving my carpet clean and fluffy, but the following morning when i woke up my carpet was really flat. what did i do wrong? how can i de-flatten the carpet?? could it have been that i didnt properly rinse all the soap from the carpet??
Just for giggles...I would fill the soap reservoir with clean water and go over the carpet again, basically.....giving it a thorough rinse. Then, after it dried, I would get a stiff brush and comb the carpet....you can use a shop broom (a clean one!) or a hand brush if you're willing to have it take a bit more time. You need to rough up the fibers for it to stay fluffy!
Q: Carpet and pad to be provided. No carpet to take up or furniture to move. About 130 yds plus set of stairs. Tack strips are needed. Concrete floor.
It will depend on your area you live, the type of carpet, (berber is more), and the type of floor your covering ( concrete is more ) There may also be charges for floor preparations, and removal and disposal of the old flooring. With this said, in the Chicago area the cost ranges $ 3.50 to $ 5.00 per square yard, for normal carpeting on a wood sub-floor. Installation of padding and tack strip is included in this price. Add an additional $ .50 to $ 1.00 for Berber and the same for concrete. In other words you could expect $ 7.00 per sq. yard for installation of Berber carpeting on a concrete sub-floor. Average rates for floor prep are $ 25.00 per hour, and carpet removal is $ 1.00 sq. yard. With a $ 35.00 fee for them to dispose of it. Generally an installer will charge an additional fee of $ 3.00 to $ 5.00 per step. Depending on the type of step, if the step is wrapped, or if he has to deal with spindle's. I hope this helps
Q: A piece of paper caught on fire, fell on the carpet, I put the fire out and it burned the carpet and the paper melted into the carpet. Using soap and alcohol, I got rid of most of the blackness, but the parts where it's actually burned is still black. How can I get rid of this mark? Would using bleach work?

Q: I was burning a candle and the wax dripped on the carpet HELP
just cut the carpet where the wax is if someone askyou what happen to the carpet just tell them i dont like wax in my carpet
Q: My carpet was just cleaned and is already dirty...it shows everything! I don't want to have to get down on my hands and knees to spot clean (the entire carpet constantly needs cleaning!) and I cant afford to pay a carpet cleaner every week. Is there like a carpet shampooing/cleaning machine you can buy for around 100 dollars or ANYTHING I can do? Thanks!
There are some products that you put on your carpet and later vaccum up. Most need to be brushed into dirtier areas (they sell broom-like brushes). Woolite makes a can of foam that's sprayed down and vacuumed up after it dries... can be applied more heavily and rubbed into dirtier areas. Should be a few of these products in the cleaning supplies section of your local supermarket or discount store.
Q: what harm does inferior carpet do to people?
the ingredient of glue of inferior carpets contains excessive formaldehyde, so it will affect human being's health a lot. you'd better buy better quality carpet.
Q: Just moved. Livingroom has off white walls solid wood flooring which is a golden oak color. Am buying olive off white livingroom furniture, but need to know what colors would go well for a large rug? The curtains are also green, but more pale. I'm not picky about the style rug; can be contemporary to Oriental, as long as the colors look good.
Anything will work. I would suggest that to give the room some interest that you pick a rug that has more in it than green and use some of those colors for accessorizing and pictures and such - unless you want to go for a room that is in just one color, of course. If you're not sure about what colors the rug should have other than green, just look at your favorite comfortor or sweater or go to the carpet store and see what kind of colors - not styles - jump at you. Colors can be tricky - but if they are using them together in carpets or fabrics that it's a pretty safe bet that they will all work together when you use them.
Q: What is the name of a steel carpet that is used to filter dirt on the front door of the hall?
The middle part is made of metal materails. It's called aluminum alloy dust mat which can be put on the doorway because it's dust removal effect is particularly good, you can also see them in some office buildings. Generally, you can see them in the large-scale hotels.
Q: Our cat pees on our rug and we don`t know why. The main part is we can`t get the smell of the rug. We have this huge piece of tinfoil and it says that he would be scared of it and not even walk on it but he walks right over and starts biting at it. Now that the tinfoil is there he won`t pee on the tinfoil but he finds a new spot on the rug. We spray this stuff on the rug that we got from our vet but it would take like 10 bottles of it to take the pee smell off. Is there anything that you tried that takes up smell our anything you think is good to use? We are thinking off letting him be an outdoor cat so he will pee out there but we are not sure. We also have a we also have one of those squirt bottles that we filled up with water so if we catch him then we can squirt him. But we still need help!
we use a spray bottle on our male cat cuz hes onerey. But he got immune to the spray bottle and it doesn't even bother him, so that will only work for so long. You will probably have to use a rug scrubber and scrub it really good, because the cat can still smell it in the rug. You can try using bleach for coloreds (make sure it doesn't ruin the rug first) to take the smell out because cats have good noses and can still smell the smell even once cleaned. You may also have to take the rug up until he learns that its bad. Get him neutered if he isn't already, and see if he straightens up.
Q: On Craigslist, someone is selling rugs from Iran (with certificates of authenticity). The person's parents recently left the rug business and he has many rugs available.Does anyone know a fair price for these rugs or have a price guide? I realize that smaller rugs are obviously less than bigger rugs, but what, for example, should a 4' x 8' rug cost? Thanks for any help.
The price should be around $40/square foot for a standard hand-knotted wool rug. If you're looking at a kilim (looks like a very thick tapestry) those will be much cheaper, and if you're looking at a silk rug, or silk blend rug, those will be about double the cost of wool, or maybe more.
