- Hydrogen Peroxide will remove blood without damaging the rug. Just pour it on the stain, and blot to remove the blood. Repeat this as many times as it takes. You can also get a product called OUT! to remove the blood stain. It is found in the pet aisle. It will remove the blood stain, feces, urine and vomit (human and animal alike) as well as the odors from protein based stains and soils. It is an enzymatic cleaner that will not harm your rug. - Find a good carpet cleaner. ;) Depends on the color of the carpet, really. Find a mild cleaner -- or even laundry soap, if you aren't sure what cleaners to use -- and put a bit on the carpet. Get a toothbrush or something that can really get in the carpet and scrub as hard as you can. Rinse w/hot water, blow dry it and see how it looks. Oddly enough, I just finished scrubbing hot sauce out of a white area rug thanks to my kid. ha!

- Since you don't have a cleaning service in your area;I would recomend taking it to laundry mat that has commerical washers and add 1/2 cup woolite and wash on the lowest setting and then take home and place over railing or flat surface and let air dry. I do this with my Oriental area rugs. If a laundry mat is unavailable; use the recomendation above in your bath tub; squeezing gently after your drain tub and then palce over railing or place on flat surface.

- Having used a Rug Doctor many times, I seriously doubt that it would do any good in your situation. Yes, it does have good suction power for carpets, but even then, it requires time for the underlayment (usually foam padding) to dry, also. I wish I had a good answer for you. The responder that suggested you get the attachments, may be the best answer, just trying to suck the water out may be all you can do. Good luck...
