- Q: Grr Overstock wont ship here so i had a 8x10 ft rug shipped to my Moms house...from there I was going to pay to have it shipped here to Guam. But no Fedex wouldnt ship it and UPS either the dementions are either too small or too big. =( then i got hopeful bc a neighbor said OKorder ships here. The carpet installer is going to have to cut the carpet from underneathe the walls in order to replace it. Should I wait until after the new carpet is installed or can I go ahead and put the new baseboard in regardless?
- Carpet first .. baseboard after..to hide the staples..and hold the carpet edge down..if you put carpet in after baseboards you will have problems with unravelling of the carpet with your vacuum..carpets first.

- Get our there and check rummage sales, end hand stores, antique stores. Just because they say it's an antique store, that doesn't mean that they only have antiques. You will be surprised what you can find only because people decide to make a few changes in their own homes. I often see rugs of all kinds, in good condition at rummage sales. I've purchased a few through the years and never pay that much for them. Besides you can always do some dickering about prices. I never pay what they ask for at any rummage sale I might stop at. Might even be able to dicker down prices at 2nd hand stores. I've done that too at 2nd hand stores. You might want to consider double tape to keep you rug in place. However you can check that out once you have the carpet in your home. There out there ... you just have to find them. The fun is in the hunt + dickering. Not to mention saving a lot of money to put toward something else.

- I doubt very much that there is a mouse under your rug. However, if there is, just lift the corner of the rug and it will run out and probably out of the premises if you have the door open. It is probably more afraid of you than you are of it. Mice are timid creatures and won't hurt you. I live on a farm in a farmhouse and have experienced many mice and grow fonder of them everyday....although I don't want to share tenancy with them.

- The primary reason for putting a rug on a horse is to keep them warm over night. If it is winter, a rug is definitely recommended when stalling over night, as movement is restricted and therefor so is the heat being produced. A lot of people will rug a horse over night if they are bathing for a show. A lot of people don't want to bath the day of the show, and so they bath the night before and rug to keep the horse clean if they choose to lay down. Rugs are also used if a horse had a hard workout in the evening, again to keep them warm over night. Once the sweat cools and dries, the horse may get a chill without a rug, although it's not a huge concern unless the horse had a really hard workout and sweat really hard. I tend to use a rug at night if there are a lot of flies in the barn. It keeps them off without having to use gallon after gallon of fly spray. I also use a rug as just an extra layer of padding, so to speak. I give the stall a look over of course and remove sharp or pointy objects, however if a potentially dangerous object has been missed, the rug will provide a little added protection, and it will rip before your horse's skin. - Carpet cleaner - get a bristle brush and some carpet cleaner ( resolve works well ) Spray the cleaner on the carpet and after a few minutes brush the stain. It'll come up , it might take a few tries.
- Q: I had a puppy, that urinated on my carpet, I would clean the spots, and of course discipline the dog.... BUT it made my home smell like urine.... so I had some carpet cleaning people come out and clean my carpets now that the puppy is fully house trained and now my house smells like wet dog, urine, and this sour, mildew wet smell. - You wouldn't believe the products I've dumped into my Bissel carpet shampooer! That puppy is 25 years old and still going strong. I've always put some kind of pet-oriented enzyme cleaner in and I haven't run into a problem yet....one product I used many years ago tended to suds up too much but a little salt, which destroys the surface tension of the bubbles, solved that.
