- Q: How to best remove the greasy dirt on the carpet?
- Scrub the carpet with brush dipped in strong brine or gasoline. Learn some knowledge about the maintance and cleaning of carpet. ①If the blue ink stains the carpet, immediately use rice to rub it, then use neutral detergent, such as washing powder to wash it. ② If red ink stains carpet, immediately use alcohol to wash it , and then use neutral detergent to wash it again. ③If the carpet is left with old ink stain, the stains should be soaked with milk firstly, and then scrubed repeatedly by brush dipped in milk. ④If there are grease stains on the carpet, scrub the carpet with brush dipped in strong brine or gasoline. ⑤If the shoe polish or paint stain the carpet, scrub the carpet with banana oil or gasoline , and then wash it with neutral detergent. ⑥If there are blood stains on the carpet, scrub the carpet firstly with cold water, and then with salt brine or lemon juice. - hey sweetie,thanks for answering my question!!xx my advise may seem abnormal or even crazy but if u leave orange peels or even full 2ltre bottles of water in the corners of ur rug and orange peels on a plate lol, the orange citrus scent cats hate and the water in the bottles they are afraid of or unsure of,my mum and granny done it for their gardens as they had no bother with cats inside and it worked a treat!! also.If it does not work im sorry but it should! keep me updated petxoxo hope ive helpedxxxx

- Bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) is great for absorbing odours. Sprinkle on the rug (the reverse as well as the front if necessary) leave for a couple of hours and vacuum off. You can also put a few drops of your favourite essential oil onto the rug to freshen up the smell. Also, as daft as it sounds, to get rid of chemical smells from the room itself such as glue, paint etc peel an onion, chop it in half and cover it with water, leave it in the room overnight and it will absorb the smell (don't ask me why this works but it does!) - Hi, Unfortunately there is nothing that will take out a mustard stain, it depends on how old the carpet is, but you could try to claim on your warranty through the manufacturer wether it's shaw, Mohawk, Gulistan, etc.. ask where you bought the carpet and make a claim. Unfortunately under a stain warranty coffee, tea and mustard are not covered but you could try. What has happened is that the yellow from the mustard has thoroughly died the carpet fiber from it's original color.. Any harsh cleaner will discolor the carpet so be careful...Try the cleaning line by Capture..they have it at Lowes or Home Depot in the flooring dept. It's really good. Around here, 4 rooms of carpet would cost you about $70 to steam clean or $85 to do a really good job with spot removal by a Chem-Dry franchise if you have one in your area. As an alternative, you can rent a carpet cleaner which is just a machine that sprays hot water detergent on the carpet, then vacuums it up with a powerful suction. They don't work very well for ground-in dirt and they leave the carpet wet and dank-smelling for days.
