Q: I just bought a new roll of Reptile Carpet. I've never used Reptile Carpet before, but I decided that you have to experiment with substrates to see what your reptiles like best. Anyway, I want to know how to clean the carpet. The roll I bought came in a kit with other things made by Zilla (reptile supply brand. and it didn't come with any instructions on cleaning the carpet. I know you can clean it, because I've read online comments on Zilla being a very good brand of carpet because of it's eco-friendly (made out of recycled bottles re-usable by washing). Could tell me how they clean their Zilla Reptile Carpet, or any other brand that is basically that same as Zilla's carpet? I would like to know how you clean it, what detergents/soaps (if any) to use, and how to dry (is it machine dryable, or air dryable?)
Yes, you can wash it I'm not sure what detergent you can use however. What I do is I see if there is any feces (i trained my dragons to poop on the newspaper), and if there is, I pick it off and throw it away. Next I scrub it really good with a wet sponge, scrub every side of it. Then I re-check it, go over it again, but if it is completely soiled with waste I have a spare carpet (most people like myself have two). A scrub brush may be needed to clean the poop and such. If you see any loops, make sure to cut them off, this can result badly. If you have the carpet with loops I'd suggest getting rid of it, but Zilla is a trusted brand if I'm correct. I hand wash it with soap and water. Just a suggestion, I think it's easier because I don't really trust the washer machine -_- as the other person said, let it air dry. My beardies rest on my shoulder on the couch and watch TV with me as their carpet dries :D
Q: Because I live in aus and the temperatures range from *lowest 6-10C winter* and highest around 36C in summer, with no dramatic weather usually, would a horse the is kept out in a paddock all its life **pleasure horse** need such rugs like winter and summer etc? (if it was clipped or didn't have a nice big fluffy coat))thanks.
I have three horses and live in Victoria. Two of them were unrugged this winter - a QH with a thick coat, not in work and a QH weanling with a thick coat. My first cross QH mare was clipped (hunter clip) as she was worked so she was rugged. The temps were getting down to -1C overnight. Mind you, my horses were hard fed twice daily and lived on average grass (not much grass because of the drought). If they weren't hard fed, they all would have needed rugs, including the weanling. The feed (especially roughage such as hay or chaff) ferments in the horses bowel, which warms them up from the inside. Less feed = less internal heating = more rugs required to keep the weight on. In summer, my show horses are rugged to keep their coats nice and prevent sun bleaching. If they aren't being show, then they don't get rugged. At the moment they are all unrugged as there are no shows because of EI. I am lucky enough to have my horses on full livery so there's always some one there to change their rugs if it gets too hot or too cold. If you aren't lucky enough to have someone keeping an eye on your horses (or if they aren't kept on your property) then you have to be very careful when keeping your horse rugged as they can get themselves into trouble. Rugs breaking, caught in fences, tearing and leaking, horse overheating because of a sudden patch of sunny weather, skin conditions because of sweating/overheating - the list goes on and on. Hope this has helped and not confused you further!
Q: I finally convinced my parents to let me have a pony which we are looking for now! Theres only one problem..rugs! I know I need at least one turnout,a stable, A travel/cooler to start with. I'm just not sure what type of turnout rug to get(heavyweight, medium, light) for (i) a 14.2hh pony with a trace clip(ii) a 14.2 pony with a blanket clip(iii) a 14.2hh pony with a full clipBy the way its Irish/Brittish weatherI just dont want the pony to be too warm as its spring or too cold if we have any cold spells! Thanks
When it is spring he will only need a waterproof but in winter he may be cold. What i do for my pony who isnt clipped at all is put her fleecy travel rug under her waterproof to keep her warmer. What I would probally do is buy a medium turnout rug because he is clipped and then put a fleecy travel rug underneeth if he gets cold during the winter months Hope this helps
Q: I'm looking for a rug with red as the main color. It needs to be contemporary/modern with a geometric or abstract design. I've tried Target, Pier 1, Pottery Barn, Ikea, West Elm and even Walmart and neither of them have a rug that I just love. Does anyone know of a cool contemporary home store (not on the list) that may have what I'm looking for?
Sometimes okorder , on the internet. Their shipping is very low, too. Of course, ordering off the internet is sometimes risky because you can't actually see what you're getting. But if you can find a design you like, and the colors don't have to be an exact match, or if you can START with the color and work from there, it may be a good solution. Hope you can find some useful advice here on Answers. Good luck!
Q: My roommate and I were cleaning carpets in our 1st floor apartment yesterday with a carpet spray called RESOLVE. We bought it at Target and tied it on the carpets but it didn't work well. Then my roommate tried to clean the carpet by water. He dumped the bucket of water and tried to dry it with a sponge. Obviously, it didn't work and the carpet is still wet. We were going to call a cleaning company but we are still trying to figure out how to dry them by ourselves. How bad is that if we just leave it and wait until the carpets dry? It's not flooded but it feels wet. I appreciate it if someone could help me.
Use a wet/dry vac to suck the water out of the carpet. You can buy a small one for around $20-30 if you don't have one. Then point a fan on the carpet to speed up the drying. I would buy a couple of cheap fan (like at Walmart) to use to dry the carpet. If the air outside is dry, open the windows when doing this. If it is humid out, crank the AC (if you have one).
Q: Where can I buy colourful horse rugs, I have noticed lots of the pony rugs are colourful and bigger sizes aren't. I have looked on derbyhouse, equestrianclearance, robinsons, ride away, horze. I want 6'3 stable rugs that aren't black, navy or red. Anywhere?

Q: Im trying to find ways to make money for a low cost. I live in and area where there is around 5 other carpet cleaning businesses. Basically I need to pay for gas, car insurance+phone =$70 and I don't know how much being licensed and insured for the business would be. Basically if I get around 5-10 customers a month I'd be doing good. If you have had a carpet cleaning business or experience please let me know if its worth it. Thanks!

Q: I need help removing odours from our carpet. We're renting at the moment and the carpet was pretty grubby when we moved in but we've cleaned it up a fair bit with a wet/dry vaccuum cleaner. We've had a litter of puppies recently though and as puppies do, they've had a few accidents on the carpet. The carpet now has a urine smell in it and I'm trying to get rid of it but not sure what to use. I've tried using teatree/eucalyptus oil, and a few carpet cleaners. They work removing the stains but not the smell. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
Here is a site that I would highly recommend. They have very high quality stain removal techniques. I would suggest repeating the process after the first application, and rinsing the rug out with cool water in between applications. Best of luck!
Q: What kind of material carpet is easy to clean?
Chemical fiber cleaning, small pieces placed in the washing machine can be washed. Most of the back of a layer of plastic, laying the ground will run, and there are more cleaning, the back will become debris.
Q: I have this OLD area rug from my grandmother. The pattern is beautiful and the rug itself is is good condition, however I'd like to brighten it up! -Especially the white areas which have now gone yellow. Anyone have any ideas on how to clean/treat this rug and restore/brighten it without damaging it with harsh chemicals, like bleach?
Resolve spot remover carpet cleaner followed by Woolite Heavy Traffic carpet cleaner really works well on my Oriental rugs. I've always cleaned them myself with no problems. Test a little place on the back to check for colors to make sure they don't run.
