Q: I did some research and found that HEPA filters are ideal. I'm just not a vacuum expert, and I don't know which vacuum to use it on. or how.
The vacuums that have the HEPA filtration are the best choice as they trap 99.97% of the dust particles pulled in to the filters. The HEPA is a part of the vacuum, not an attachment. Several brands of Vacuum Cleaners offer this space age technology. If your house is finished top and bottom, it would be extremely difficult to install a central vacuuming system, as the tubing is installed in the walls and floor joice.
Q: I have a Eureka canister, model 1620 B. I am trying to find HEPA bags for the canister. Eureka no longer makes quot;type Squot;, but I have found Hoover quot;type SHEPA bags and am wondering if they are compatible.
This Site Might Help You. RE: Is a Hoover quot;type Svacuum cleaner bag the same as a Eureka quot;type Svacuum cleaner bag? I have a Eureka canister, model 1620 B. I am trying to find HEPA bags for the canister. Eureka no longer makes quot;type Squot;, but I have found Hoover quot;type SHEPA bags and am wondering if they are compatible.
Q: Have any of you had a newer Kirby vacuum cleaner (the one the representatives say cleans all the way to the bare floor) and could you compare it's performance to other quot;storebrands? I'm not really interested in value (I know they are terribly expensive) but want to know if they really do clean as advertised. I moved into a new house with some dirty carpets and a friend of mine offered to let me borrow her Kirby vacuum cleaner with built in carpet shampooer and I want to know how well it will clean. Is the shampooer equal to one I could rent at Wal-Mart or another store? Thanks for the help!
No they are not worth it. My wife bought one from a friend who became a saleswoman. It doesn't pick up dirt that well. It is a major nuisance to change over from vacuum to rug shampooer. It has a tendency to spill the cleaning liquid (dirty water that it sucked out of the carpet) so that most of the rug is OK but there are some really dirty parts where the liquid slopped out. If you switch from one mode to the other and don't get it together perfectly it will not turn on at all. My wife claims she doesn't know how to run anything that complicated. I stick to my ShopVac if I need to vacuum something. We have no dogs so hair removal is not an issue for us. Short answer is don't bother. Get a regular vacuum and rent a rug cleaner when you need one.
Q: Hi there - I've been given an OLD Elextrolux vacuum cleaner (a canister one) that seems to have lost some suction...and I'm wondering if it would be worth it to get it fixed? I do realize this is more of an opinion question...My main concern is not spending as much $$ to get this vacuum fixed as it would to buy a new vacuum! Thanks.
Most probably,it depends if you can get the parts,i would buy a new one and you could sell the old one to a collector of antique vacuum cleaners You have had a blo*dey good run out of it 50 years
Q: Our old dryer wouldn't dry clothes so we replaced it with a brand new one. We're having the same problem so I'm assuming the vent is blocked. I'm not very handy and I electrocute myself routinely so I want to make sure I'm not doing anything dangerous if I hop on the roof with and try fishing any crap out of the vent. Suggestions or warnings?
Roof ? it should vent out the wall just unplug it pull it out and clean the vent from behind it
Q: We are looking into buying a new vacuum, I are newly married I really don't know what a good vacuum is since I don't have much experience taking care of a home by myself. Our price range is $0-$200. We live in apartments so the carpet is low grade and we don't have much storage. I wanted something compact, has a hose so I can vacuum around the sofa. I also don't really want to buy online since most vacuums cost $20s in shipping. What is your opinion is the best vacuum and is there any other features that I might want that I don't know I want? lol. Thanks a bunch!
Based on Consumer's Reports about vacuum cleaners, I went with an Eureka The Boss SmartVac. It actually does a better job for pet hair removal than the Dyson Animal. I'm an older woman and have had many vacuums thru the years and this is absolutely the BEST vacuum I've ever owned. It has a Pet Brush attachment as one of the tools and it's fantastic. Removing cat hair from the chairs and sofa was always a problem, but not now!! It was about $150 (on sale) and well worth the money.
Q: I mean, come on! What kinky person vacuums in the dark?
It can help to illuminate the areas under beds and dressers or in the backs of closets below the line of hanging clothes. Also, it might reflect tiny shards of glass which can be difficult to see. EDIT: The areas under dining room, kitchen and coffee tables can be darkened by shadows. The vacuum cleaner light can help spot stray crumbs and dust to ensure a more thorough vacuuming job.
Q: Why do cats hate vacuum cleaners so much? We have three loud kids in our household, dishwasher, washing machine, motor bike etc and the cat doesn't worry. Start the vacuum cleaner and that is a whole other story. She will bolt and hide under my doona. Why do cats hate them so much and has anybody ever had or met a cat that doesn't mind vacuum cleaners?
We've only had one cat who liked vacuum cleaners lol It was one of those cylinder ones and from being a kitten he would sit on it and ride around the floor as we used it.We had it on a circuit breaker for safety as he loved it so much.
Q: What type of motors are used by vacuum cleaners?
high rpm (10k-19k) low hp ac motor. very loud They have to have tons of air moving by them and they're duty cycle is still low.
Q: Do you name your vacuum cleaners?
yes but they are derogatory like I will yell that it doesn't suck
