Q: I thought Dyson had a patent on bagless vacuum cleaners but now everybody is copying him. Is it because the patent has now expired and so people can copy it? (as he once sued hoover for copying him but that was a long time ago, around 10 years ago)Thankyou for your help
Are you talking about a broom? I don't think those can be patented.
Q: Have any of you had a newer Kirby vacuum cleaner (the one the representatives say cleans all the way to the bare floor) and could you compare it's performance to other quot;storebrands? I'm not really interested in value (I know they are terribly expensive) but want to know if they really do clean as advertised. I moved into a new house with some dirty carpets and a friend of mine offered to let me borrow her Kirby vacuum cleaner with built in carpet shampooer and I want to know how well it will clean. Is the shampooer equal to one I could rent at Wal-Mart or another store? Thanks for the help!
I have one I bought 11 years ago. It is still running like new. I had to take it in about 3 years ago and have some new belts put on it. Other than that it has been very reliable, and YES it does clean as well as advertised. I have a Chow Chow dog and he sheds horribly. The dog is as old as the vacuum. If you mix the water VERY hot before adding the carpet cleaner. ( I use the generic cleaner soap from Wal-Mart) it works great. Hope this helps. My favorite thing about the Salesmen that sale these vacuums is they say it will last a lifetime. (which i believe them) but then 1 year later the same guy comes back and tells me I need to upgrade it. That still makes me laugh. P.S. if you have means I highly suggest you buy one.
Q: Please read further to answer question. 10 points for best answerYou are comparing two vacuum cleaners in an appliance store and notice that one israted at 120V, 9 Amp while the other is rated at 120V, 12 Amp.WHY?
The vacuum cleaner's current is largely drawn by its vacuum motor/s. Some cleaners use another motor in order to drive a brush in the cleaning head. Could this extra motor be the cause of the added current in some cleaners?
Q: Has anyone purchased one of these outrageously expensive vacuum cleaners? We have a yellow lab that sheds like crazy. We have a horrible time with vacuum cleaners. We have had Dysons and just had one die on us. Does anyone have any feedback on these vacuums?
we have a Miele Blue Moon. We also had a very hairy dog. But we bought it because of allergies. it picks up and keeps dust mite droppings which no other vacuum does. but you have to change the HEPA once a year for it to do that. The bags and hepa are rather costly but we have had it 9 years and it works great. The only other tip I'd give is keep the height setting one setting higher if you find it is overheating when you vacuum. we have shag carpet so it was overheating the powerhead set at 1. We love it and it definitely works better than the less expensive models.
Q: I sucked up 2 big spiders, bigger than a quarter and 1 moth with a vacuum nozzle thing. after i sucked up the last spider, i left the vacuum on for about another minute to make sure the spider is dead. do you think its dead? cause now im scared to leave my room cause im afraid the spiders can crawl back up.
No need to kill them is there. Why not just catch them and put them outside? In answer to your question the spiders are probaly having a nice moth meal and when they have finished they will mate and one day there will be a hundered spiders emerging from your cleaner!
Q: Not sure which brand I should bite the bullet on
I okorder , I called up because a buddy of mine actually told me he went into their store and got a discount and got $150 off for calling up. Had it the next day in CT at $949 flat. Definitely would recommend Miele though. Germans always make the best
Q: I just bought Kirby Sentria vacuum cleaners for $1400. The salepersons were here for 5 hours doing their demo.I kind of am changing my mind I have had it for less then 2 hours. The paper says that I have 3 days to change my mind. Should I keep it or take it back?Is it hard to take it back?
You should have no trouble taking it back. Call the number on your paperwork and also WRITE them a letter and keep a copy. (just to cover your a$$). But do it right away. Personally, I LOVE mine.
Q: Vacuum Cleaners? What is better bagless or bags. What can I get for $100.oo?
I actual have a bagless vacuum. i actually like the suction that it gives you yet i actually do in comparison to having to empty it. that's a terrible job and that's maximum suitable to do empty it over the dustbin which isn't super if that's a windy day. you additionally should sparkling the filter out each and every time you empty the vacuum. The instructions state that all and sundry you are going to be able to desire to do is faucet the filter out and the dirt will fall out of it. properly that's not real in any respect - The filter out is nearly a fan pulled around and joined at the same time at the two area to make an entire cone shaped style factor. yet provided that's zig zaggy like a fan the dirt gets somewhat caught interior the zig zaggy bits and that i might desire to apply an previous toothbrush to get it sparkling. regardless of if, having pronounced all that, I nevertheless choose the bagless because of the fact the suction is super. i won't be able to see the element in pushing a vacuum on the subject of the homestead if it extremely is basically doing a million/2 the job that it did the day previous to this. So, you finally finally end up putting the comparable quantity of attempt in for much less return - not my theory of exciting i'm afraid - i choose the comparable result each and every time so it must be bagless for me.
Q: It's really a simple engineering principal, four fixed wheels like to go in straight lines. Where as a ball can move it in any direction. So in clear choice, easy turns with minimal efforts, or do it the old fashioned way. It's quite amusing that a vacuum cleaner and its complexities completely destroy Evolution. And yet it's treated as fact, sigh.
Notwithstanding your obvious Poe, and the fact that vacuums are designed, not biologically evolved... You can see the evolution of engineering in vacuums in the Dyson Ball.
Q: Anyone else have the experience of their dog turns into a raving lunatic when you get the vacuum cleaner out? How can you get him to stop barking?
It is crazy! One dog just hides with the cats-yea! The other used to bark at and try to attack the vacuum and the broom or rake and the leaf blower! I started out just removing the animals when I did these things. Now, when I get out the vacuum, I let them see it and leave space for the hiding one to run to his crate and I tell the other dog to go downstairs, if I'm upstairs, or ask her if she wants to go out. And I did do the teaching not to be fearful of noises, etc., the person quoting Dog Whisperer and all training books describe. But, my goal was to keep them out from underfoot for this, so allowing them to think the vacuum's powers are to be awed, and keep your distance from, was a good thing. I just turned the lunging behavior into one of getting away from me.
