Q: Hello,I am looking for best vacuum cleaner. I have both carpet hardwood floors in my home. Also a month old baby. Which ones are the best in terms of efficiency and low maintenance. whether it be the central vac, or the standard ? my budget is flexible as I know you get what you pay for.Thanks for your time.: Top of the list is Rainbow, and Kerby. Kerby has many nice features but is expensive. It is more for cleaning hotels and the like. But it would last you the rest of your life. The home models are Dyson the best for home. Hoover isn't to bad. The rest are cheap but will last for a while. With the baby I would get one with a heppa filter so it doesn't blow dirt back into the air. Good luck

Q: anyone know how well the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser vacuum works?: bissell very good make dont go near a dyson my mom had 3 different dysons hoovers that blew up. And if u take a trip to the rubbish tip ull find even more of the buggers more of them than other makes.

Q: Just in case the power goes out, I would like to still be able to see where I am vacuuming.Anyone know a vacuum that has an inbuilt light that you would recommend? I know KIRBY make one, but they are very expensive.I am hoping for one at say less than $150 if possible.: most oreck ones have built in lights but price wise run slightly high maybe look for used ones

Q: im just really curious about it and whats the difference with the conventional vacuum cleaner?is it worth buying?: Depends on the useage.They put out steam and suck it back up with dirt. Problem is too much steam may cause mildew in a carpet. Another type uses a water cannister instead if a bag. They are excellent because dirt dust goes into the water to be tossed out instead of filtering back into the air as conventional vacs do. Believe not recent TV ads. they are not the origional nor the best. I have had a better one for many years.

Q: Because gladiators would want something that is versatile, more powerful, and easy to use. Attachments are more easy to change for when cleaning for furniture or stairs and switching from carpet to bare floor can be done at the handle by turning off the power nozzle, then switching to the bare floor tool. Easy bag and filter change.: having read your question you have convinced me that a gladiator would choose the Kenmore Progressive Canister vacuum Cleaner....................

Q: Does dog hair ruin vacuum cleaners? And if so, what do you recommend for pet hair control?: When I have six shelties shedding, I sweep my carpets for hair with a regular broom before running the vacuum cleaner. Never had one croak of old age. I have had the same hoover for 8 years now. I gave my last old Hoover away to buy this newer one, but it was going great guns when I gave it away too. I guess it's all in the brand and maintenance.
