- Q: Does it simply slow down because the chain is slowing down and it is therefore slowing it down or is there an electric signal that is sent to the engine telling it so stop or WHAT??
- When you release the throttle (right hand grip), the carburetor slows down how much fuel is going to the engine. No fuel, no run - the engine slows down. Same as a car. Take your foot off of the accelerator - less gas goes through the carb into the engine - the engine slows down - when the engine runs slower, the vehicle slows down
- Q: how to remove a motor from a 2005 z-10 kawasaki motorcycle ?
- 1/. undo every nut and bolt you can find and eventually it will fall to bits. 2/. buy the workshop manual. 3. Ask if your local Tek college do courses. 4/. go to www.carlsalter.cm and down load a manual, free. A Little tip for you. I bought a none runner ?5 paid for it, was a while ago, like 50 years, really, pushed it 3 miles home, ka nak ed, and having absolutely no idea where to start, simply kept undoing things until it was in bits, spread over the workshop floor. Spread out so i would know what came from where. Dad decided I was taking up too much room and put al the bits into boxes! Stripped every thing except the spoked wheels, and eventually finished the rebuild/replacements and tried to fire it up. Two stroke, no idea how to time it, asked my Dad, he did it fired it up, snicked it into gear and shot of backwards up the yard! Oops, timed wrong. Sorted that and off I went. Road it to college 10 miles every night for 3 years, through thick snow each winter, 1960's. Cost me fiver to buy it, ?30 to re-bore, build, paint it, and it never let me down. I had no previous, no manual, just a note pad and some tools. Sold it for ?30 and bought a B31 350cc, in a similar state and id the same to that. Next worked 2 jobs saved up bought a new Norton 650ss, awesome. Now on G S's for (too) many years and still do all of my own servicing etc. Don't do tyre swaps any more hard job with modern tyres. So, if i can do it so can you, so just surprise your self and go for it bro.
- Q: After my Honda VT750 1998 fell down while riding, it started making noise somewhere around the front wheel; noise like two hard pieces are scratching each other. At the beginning the noise happened only when the front brake was applied, but now it happens when riding. I also feel weak knocking on the front brake lever. The pace of the knocking becomes faster as the speed of the bike slower. The brake disc was hot after a ride in which I used the brake. What is the problem and solutions? I'd appreciate answers not like take it to a shop. Thank you.
- Your caliper piston is not returning and you are technically riding with your brakes on. You fix it by taking the caliper off...remove the bleed valve and working the piston in and out a few times and a little cleaning would help a lot.
- Q: The motorcycle discs are heavy and the brakes are not good
- There may be a brake pump problems, such as the brake pump internal jammed or blocked, brake friction film wear too much, or brake pump has other problems, to repair the place where the motorcycle repair to see if it can only change the pump The
- Q: motorcycle accident on the news?
- Just fiction. There is always a way to get the bike to slow down. Just hitting the kill switch or turning off the ignition will slow down the bike in a hurry. Brakes are separate and not dependent on the engine running to operate. Can't imagine being able to remove my helmet while trying to control a runaway motorcycle to hand it to a passenger. Event didn't happen.
- Q: Hey you; people who just so happen to own a motorcycle or make payments on one. I want to know how much does a motorcycle cost! Also for example if you have experienced a lot with motorcycles, Which ones are reliable? I‘m just asking because, well I‘m interested! I know some of you will say, that it‘s risky do go around in a motorcycle. But to be honest, it‘s risky to do anything! How much does a Motorcycle cost?Which ones are good, and reliable? And if you have any stories to tell, please share with me!
- Simple answer is yes. You've put rims and tires on the vehicle that were not recommended by the manufacturer. Putting rims and tires like that on a car forces the other parts to take extra stress on every turn and bump. Sometimes when there is a failure, such as you mentioned, it puts binding on the transmission and subsequently on the engine forcing it to stall out. Usually this type of modification also causes the warranty to void for reason. From what you describe fixing this properly will cost quite a bit even if you haven't damaged your transmission, most likely you have. You may not notice the transmission damage right away but I bet you will in about a year or two. No matter what you will be fighting odd drive train problems for a very long time.
- Q: My automatic 150cc scooter has levers for front and rear (disk) brakes, and both are VERY tight with almost no give. Can this be adjusted? I've read through many manuals and researched, but everything talks about how to change the pads (or about how to adjust drum brakes) and things like that and not if the levers can be adjusted.
- He has to turn in his guy card AND his car guy card if he's peddling a Prius! LOL!!
- Q: So i changed the front pads of my sportbike..introduction: (at beggining the front brake lever was too low almost touching the handle to brake. When i changed the new pads, nothing really changed so i put a little top inside the regulation of the lever just to put it upper, so when i brake dont go too down )the problem. So after changing the pads, the bike got really braked, the wheel dont turn, and after a while it virtually stopped the bike too sudden, and got overheated on the disc rotors..i had to bleed them but after a little ride it happens again the bike brakes itself, and become really hard.the funny thing is that overnight the brakes got released itself and the wheel turns again.. until i brake a couple of times when it gets stucked again..What is it =(what i did wrong?whats the solution thanks!!mech experts 10 pts.
- Hi dude the brakes works with the gradual engagement so you gotta check the cylinder and play if everything fine ,,check the caliper and the piston inside the caliper i guess the gap between two pads has increased so it might touching the disc and causing too much friction and when you apply brakes the brake pad which is already in tightly packed and causing continues contact with disc causing faster engagement which results wheel lock ,,so bleeding won't work it's just to remove the air bubbles ,all you gotta do is meet a mechanic and reset the brake pedal play as well as the Brake caliper
- Q: I‘m buying my first motorcycle, a 93 yamaha virago 750. Has low miles since it wasn‘t ridden much so it obviously needs some work and care. I‘m going to be changing all the major fluids, filters, and tires, but I wanted to know how picky motorcycles can be on maintenance. I‘m a good mechanic on cars and trucks, but some of the stuff I saw in my bike‘s repair manual seemed like overkill. Like every 10k miles, you need to replace the fork oil and seals, lube the swingarm bearings, and replace the alternator brushes. Is all this really necassary, because I intened to use it as a daily commuter? I can certainly do all of that with a few special parts and some more tools, but I‘m hoping it doesn‘t come to that on a bi-yearly basis or so.
- riding bikes for the last 40 + years. change the fork seals when they fail start to leak change the fork oil at 50,000 miles engine gearbox oil at 5000 miles brake clutch fluids every 2 years brake pads as required TIMING CHAIN this is an important one on the VIRAGO. tall motor with a long chain20,000 miles swing arm bearings. 25,000 miles. all the milages given are approximations. Im riding a Ducati 800 sport at the moment change the timing belts as per the manual. the rest is open to interpretation if you ride the bike hard service it more often if it gets an easy life you can double a lot of the service intervals.
