Q: hiI got a car radio quot;Grundig WKC 3680to stick to my car, I don't understand is the difference between : 12 VOLT BATTERY WIRE and 12 VOLT IGNITION WIRE, which one to use? I got only one cable bringing the current from my Renault 4 car!thanx
check to see if that power lead from your car has power with the ignition off if it does that will be your memory wire and you will need to run another wire from your fuse block on an accsesory that is controlled by the ignition switch for the cd player to be able to turn on and off with the car its not a very hard job once you figure out the starting point
Q: There is a circuit with a battery connected to two wires in parallel. Both wires are made of the same material and are of the same length, but the diameter of wire A is twice the diameter of wire B. Answer true or false for the following questionsThe curent through the battery is five times larger than the current through wire B.The power dissipated in wire A is 16 times the power dissipated in wire B.The voltage drop across wire B is larger than the voltage drop across wire A.The resistance of wire B is four times as large as the resistance of wire A.The resistance of wire B is twice as large as the resistance of wire A.
false false true flase false true -good luck
Q: I am wiring a cd player in my truck is it necessary to get a wire harness that is made for the year make and model of my truck or can I just cut the factory terminals off and just connect the like colors?
While a wiring harness isn't strictly necessary, It's highly recommended. The wiring color code on an aftermarket head unit will match up properly with a vehicle-specific wiring harness. The wire colors of your vehicle wiring will NOT be the same as the wire colors on your aftermarket unit. You have to match the wires up according to function, not according to color.
Q: i have a purple wire i have no clue what it goes to, i have a dark blue/brown wire i dont know what it goes to and want to make sure the i just cap off the orange wire…Can someone please help me-it is draining my battery

Q: How do you attach light wires to boat trailer frame?
There are a couple of safe ways to attach the wires. First is to run the wires through the inside of the frame rails. this protect the wires from abrasion and from being cut, pinched, or severed easily. The next best is to get a bunch of Electricians Zip Tie mounts. These have a sticky foot so that they can be mounted anywhere. Then you install small ZIP ties into the slots and form a loop. Run the wires through the loops to where you need them to go. Once you have the wires placed and connected, snug up the wires and clip off the extra ZIP tie and work toward the front of the trailer doing the same as the last. Once you reach the tongue of the trailer, be sure to leave plenty of wire for the connector plug to the tow vehicle (usually about 4' beyond the coupler). Then your done.
Q: I am trying to replace a GFCI outlet, there are 6 wires -3 White, 2 Black Ground. I have tried to wire it several times and indicator light comes on but it doesn't trip or work when something is plugged in. It's in a box with 2 light switches and I believe feeds down to another switch plug because they are currently not working. As well as my microwave which is on the same circuit. So long story short how do I wire this thing?
You need to find which set of wires is the feed 1st. Turn off breaker for that circuit disconnect wires . Then turn breaker back on . Which black wire is hot ? Remember which black wire has power. Then shut off breaker again . The black wire that is hot gets connected to your line voltage connection side ( Gold screw on outlet ) the white wire goes to the other line voltage side ( Silver screw ) . The other black and white wire gets connected to the load side of the GFI . If the screws are all the same color for some reason . Remember the longer slot is always the neutral or white wire . The smaller slot is the black or hot wire . Ground to the green screw .Turn breaker back on and test .
Q: i need to know if my wires are hooked up right
Most thermostats have multiple wires because they can be set to control different kinds of systems. Check the manual to see which connections you need for your situation. If it can turn on your heater (and air conditioner if you have one), then it is connected properly.
Q: What are the range specs when testing resistance on your spark plug wires ?
Solid wires (high performance) are under an ohm (tare of the wire). According to the first link, from Popular Mechanics, spark plug wires are supposed to have 10,000 to 15,000 ohms per foot. According to the second link, from David Kucharczyk, silicon wires have 10^9 to 10^11 ohms per meter. As the wire wears out, the resistance might get higher but not lower. Resistance dampens electromagnetic noise that would make your radio noisy and might interfere with sensitive electronics in your car (including the ECU (Electronic Control Unit)). High performance wires are sometimes made with solid wires to provide hotter spark, but they will electromagnetic noise. Some people prefer solid wires because they are more durable since solid wire doesn't usually wear out, but the insulation on the wires might wear out (causing arcing). Nology wires have metal braid shielding (something like a coaxial cable), and are designed to shield the electromagnetic noise. The outer shield is grounded on only one end of the wire. If both ends were grounded, a ground loop might form, and that would cause unwanted current flow within the grounded shield, producing unwanted electromagnetic noise. The shielding produces about 35pF of capacitance (the outer shield is one plate of a capacitor, and the wire conductor is the other).
Q: I have an old sewing machine without a plug that needs wiring up but it doesn't have the modern wire colours. There's one red wire and one yellow. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks =]
It would be better for you to post a picture of your wires and where they are going to on the machine so that we can tell you what is what. Otherwise it would be difficult to say just by telling us one is red and one is yellow. No offense intended, there's just not enough information with just knowing the wire colors. ------------------------ WARNING! Red is NEVER used to indicate a earth connection as XOXO suggests! Damage to your machine or harm to you could result if you attempted to connect red to earth. ------------------------ OK, I see your picture (thanks): Yellow is most likely the common wire. It connects to your white wire. The red wire connects to the Hot (black) wire. If you have a switch in the system, the red wire would connect to your switch or foot (gas peddle). And of course the other side of your switch would be connected to your black wire of the power cord.
Q: Two long straight parallel wires are 12 cm apart. Wire A carries 2.5 A current. Wire B's current is 3.7 A in t?Two long straight parallel wires are 12 cm apart. Wire A carries 2.5 A current. Wire B's current is 3.7 A in the same direction.1) Determine the magnetic field magnitude due to wire A at the position of wire BB = ? T2) Determine the magnetic field due to wire B at the position of wire A.B = ? T3) Are these two magnetic fields equal and opposite? Why or why not?4) Determine the force on wire A due to wire B, and the force on wire B due to wire A.
(1) wire-A B = (uo)(I) / (2pi * r) B = (1.26E-6)(2.5) / (2pi * 0.12) B = 4.17E-6
