He also chews on plants- I wish I knew what to do! Good luck with an answer!

- Q: have black (hot) and 2 whites from the house. Got Black,green.blue.and white from the fan. Any clues on how to wire this? There is a light switch involved. I know to match the colors but what do with the blue (light) wire is beyond me.
- The blue wire is the supply connection for the fan motor, simply connect this wire to your homes black wire. ( blue and black from fan) to the black wire in the box. Splice the two neutral ( white ) wires together. If you plan on using a dimmer switch use one with motor control. Green is your ground connect it to the bare copper wire in the box or screw Its a good thing you picked up on that white wire at first glance I was thinking the fan had 2 whites, .. You will have two switches if one of the white wires in your box is a switch leg, if there is two switches, make sure you separate the wires in the ceiling box, place a marrett on each individual one for safely, turn the switches on remove one marrett a time test with a multimeter white to ground to identify you hot and neutral
- Q: I have a minivan with a flat 5 pin wiring connecter at back. We bought an old utility trailer with no wiring. It has the two rear lights, one on each side with 2 wires sticking out of each. We got the flat 5 pin trailer connector to connect to the van and bought a long piece of cable which has the white, brown, green and yellow wires in it. Where do I connect what? I have the wire that connects to the van with the four colours and 2 wires coming out of each light for the trailer. Thanks!
- Your five wire setup is the same as a four wire setup with an additional wire for power (if it is even hooked up on the vehicle, which I have seen some installed and not used before) The white wire is Chassis Ground (also known as 'NEG' or '-') The green wire is for the Right Side Turn and Stop. The yellow wire is for the Left Side Turn and Stop. The brown wire is for Running/Marker lights. If your trailer's chassis is made of metal, then connect the white wire to it. Check the trailers taillight bulbs to see if they have one or two filaments. They should have two. One is for the dimmer running lights, and one is for the brighter brake and turn lights. Good luck with your wiring adventure!
- Q: do you match positives and negatives or positives and positives when wiring a car stereo

- Q: How do you wire a 2 wire smoke detector directly to an alarm (no panel). The terminals are numbered 1,2,3,4 and the instructions say that 1 is for DC+ and 2 is for DC-. How do I wire an alarm so when the detector senses smoke, the alarm goes off? Thank you.
- That's DC alarm ,mean you should connected in to 9 volt battery. There are 4 wire alarms that are design for serial alarms. Smoke alarm it's required ,without AC power act and also With AC power act .mean if AC power go off then system will respond on battery power .
- Q: I already tried wire cutters, and they just bend it!
- If you can, put the wire in a bench vice and use a hacksaw to cut your wire. You can still use the hacksaw even if you don't have a bench vice. It just makes it easier. Hope this helps good luck. Richard
- Q: What role does the neutral wire play?
- It provides the return current path. Without it positive current would have no where to flow once it enters a device. Here's why: Think about you sink... you need a pipe to bring the water in, this is the hot wire. Without a drain the water has no where to go to, this is the neutral wire. Without a drain there is no net flow of water.
- Q: The black wire is called ground but what is the red wire called?
- In single phase AC circuits it's hot (ungrounded). In three phase AC circuits it's A phase. In DC circuits it's positive.
