Firt that knocking and the car lifting off the ground is your CV (Constant Velocity) joint which is the driveline that transferrs power from the engine to the transmission. With your cars milage I would replace them all. I would not worry about changing the transmisssion fluid just you. After replacing the CV joint you will know for sure if you have a bad tourque converter. Most likelu the shudder problem will be solved by the CV joint then you can change the transmission fluid and don't forget the filter change.
