Q:why do cars have spoilers?
Racecars have spoilers because at high speeds parts of the car can function like an airplane, lifting it off the ground. While this doesn't really make the car fly, pusing it off the ground reduces traction, making it easier to lose control, and causing the beaks to not work as well. Spoilers function as anti-wings using aircurrents to push them down towards the ground. This is not really a problem for most normal streat legal cars, but some cars have incorporated spoilers to make them look like racecars.
Q:if you are moving with an average 20Km/hr!!! i know no one drives a car this slow but i need this power for aboom lift!!
Not all vehicles are created equally, as I had hoped we all knew. So the answer depends on how heavy the car is, how big its engine is--like the number and displacement size of its cylinders--etc. You have to get a number of specific details before this question can be answered with much accuracy. Oh, wait. you're going to move it with a boom lift, right? Well then, in that case, the vehicle's own engine/transmission power won't come into play, but then you still have to know how much mass the vehicle has.
Q:I not an expert on arrow dynamics, but I really want to know if you put a wing on your car, will say mounted centered on your cars balance point. Lets say this wing wasn‘t like those ricers trying to produce down force so there civic doesn‘t fly off the highway, but a wing that produced lift, this could improve the gas mileage of your car. I‘m thinking it could even be mechanical in some way providing various amounts of lift, but on the highway you could make a 3000lb car drive like it was 2000lbs. That‘s a big *** difference, i just don‘t know how crazy drag would be on the wing itself, but I was just reading about something called the tube plane, a large percentage of its lift was created with the main body of the plane, technology is a far larger market than oil, driving around in vehicles shaped like bricks isn‘t helping MPG‘s. Any comments
No as you accelerate the lift reduces the cars weight, however the wing increases parasitic drag which increases with speed. next problem as apparent weight decreases so does the necessary friction tires-pavement reducing grip which reduces acceleration also If you have a friend who is a pilot have them take you up on a day when you can experience the fun of a cross wind landing. now imagine driving down the road and suddenly the left side of the car lifts up off the ground and decides it wants to be on the right side. get the picture.
Q:I have a 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue . I have a SMALL knock from my driver tire when i turn my wheel. even in park. I can turn the wheel all the way but it still only knocks when i first turn it the rest of the way i have know noise till i turn it back in the other direction. Anyone got any ideas?
Whats knocking is the strut mount bearing
Q:How can You lift a car with only a small electric pump?
I would worry more about leaks, I hit one of those and broke my tranny, so check underneath for leaks
Q:Makes it goeS up and down
a jack or a lift? or an airbag suspension?
Q:And his back wasn‘t bionic, so why didn‘t he throw his back out the first time he did that?
Maxwell was contracted to Mumbai Indians for $7,761,700 Dollars, so he's already over the mark. Assuming of course that you calculate the amount in Hong Kong Dollars. :-).
Q:I have a 03 Lincoln town car and I‘m wanting to put 24‘s on it. It has air bags on the rear and springs on the front.
Make sure you turn the suspension airbags off before you lift any part of the vehicle. I believe the switch is located in the trunk.
Q:i want to add some lift to my geo tracker, but i dont have $1000 to get the kit i want. can i use parts from another vehicle, maybe a jeep cherokee or similar, like the struts and coil springs, just to add a little more clearance?does anyone know what can be interchanged into a 97 tracker 4dr 4wd?
Nothing, either you use what is desgined for it or jury rig stuff at your own peril.
