Q: Hi all, I went on vacation and forgot to turn my water heaters to vacation! When I returned the water was cold coming through the faucet. After some investigation I realised the water heater pump had tripped the trip switch on the main electric panel. I reset it and thought all would be fine. Now it is OK for a day or two and then it trips the electric panel again. Any Ideas on what is the matter and how I might fix it? The water heaters themselves are fine and are burning all OK. Many Thanks!
It sounds like the element in your water heater is going bad.
Q: I have a leak on the front of the engine by the timing belt housing coming out of a small hole by the alternator. I assume it is a leaking water pump. How do to go about changing the water pump?Short clip of actual leak coming from the hole by the alternator and under the timing belt housing
water pump is timing belt driven, so you have to pull all of the belts off, the timing belt cover and that belt also. if that belt has not been replaced in 80,000 miles. you want to do that. i had a 93 civic and a 90 civic that i did the belt and pump in at 230,000 miles. it takes a little time but it is not that bad. the harmonic balancer has to come off for the timing belt also.
Q: The flow of the pump will be reduced, the speed will change, the power of the motor will change?
Water pump flow rate, speed will not change, the power of the motor will change in general.Different types of pumps have different flow power curves. Only the most common centrifugal pump is used as an example to illustrate the relationship between the flow rate and other pump parameters. The typical centrifugal pump flow power curve is shown in the P-qv curve (red line) shown below.Turn left and turn right |According to the flow power curve, it can be seen that with the increase of the flow rate, the power increases linearly, and the power decreases linearly with the decrease of flow rate.In fact, the pump shaft power P= P gQH/ (1000 K), including H: head, unit m, Q: flow unit m3/s, ETA: for the efficiency of the pump, general 0.7-0.85, P: shaft power, unit kW, K: matching coefficient, small power is 1.25, P: work is like a water medium density. Therefore, for a specified pump, the power is proportional to the flow theoretically. In fact, as the flow rate changes, the efficiency of the pump changes, so it can only be close to the positive proportion.Running water pump speed generally depends only on the pump, power (motor, diesel, etc.) speed, the flow of water generally can not affect its speed. But in the design of pumps, the flow is related to the speed, and other design parameters remain unchanged, the pump speed is high, the pump flow.
Q: Hi there: my water pump is leaking, and my coolant lelel keeps droping, same problem. Im not sure if coolant flows through the water pump?
While it may seem the water pump is the most likely culprit, I agree with the thermostat solution. Usually, when a water pump fails, it does so gradually, reducing the flow and showing intermittent overheating-usually under load or high temp conditions first. The thermostat, however will cause an immediate overheating situation. You should just go ahead and change the thing anyway, as it's only about five bucks and MAY take 10 minutes to change. It's probably time anyway! Ron Hatton Gadgetman Technologies
Q: TDH what units are present in the pump parameters?
Answer: TDH stands for single pole double suction horizontal chemical process pump, suitable for conveying clean or containing micro solid particles of ultra low temperature or high temperature liquid medium, is also particularly suitable for conveying strong corrosive medium. All facilities for horizontal installation are available.Mainly used:Petroleum smelting plant, petroleum conveying equipment and pump used in petroleum deep processing devicePump for coal chemical processPumps for water and desalination systemsPumps for fuel coal fired power generation equipmentSewage treatment and environmental protection pumpStructure characteristics:Pump in the horizontal opening, suction and discharge pipeline is located in the lower half of the pump body. The disassembly and replacement of the wearing parts and the replacement of the rotor parts can be performed without disassembly of the pipe.Double suction impeller, high efficiency, good cavitation performance, axial force is basically balanced.Rigid axle shaft and bearing, double end support, small deflection, small vibration, low noise, oil lubrication of rolling bearings with oil ring, constant level oiler automatic control level, and can get automatic compensation, radial thrust ball bearings back-to-back bear residual axial force. The sealing ring of the shell is provided with a stop and a step, and is arranged on the pump body and the pump cover, so that the assembly and disassembly are convenient.
Q: I getting some work done to my like replacing the timing cover gasket, oil pan gasket and the water pump gasket...the mechanic I talked to said I need to replace this as well; my thing is the water pump is fine..should I take his advice?
well, since they gotta take all that crap off to change the gasket, I would, it's cheap insurance..
Q: My well water pump runs constantly. The manual says it should kick off at 50 psi, it only gets to 48 (moves to 45 rather quickly, slow to 48). Water isn't an issue. Turned off all water to house, and still gets to 48, so I believe I can exclude leak somewhere in the house. One place I called said it could be a bit of grit in the jet pump when I called. This seems like it could cost big bucks. Could I suggest for the service man to check anything else?
yes, call a service man to check and estimate repair cost.
Q: My dads needs a new water pump for his '83 Silverado v8, anyone have a DIY or a schematic or know of where I can find one? Maybe someone could tell me how. He's pretty handy with cars just doesn't know what needs to come off and in what order. -Thanks in advance!
83 Chevy Silverado
Q: how do i remove and replace the water pump on a 2003 ford focus with a 2.0 engine
Take it to a dealership.
Q: I would like to know that a water pump or water motor which is of 1 hp what is the height from which it can pull water ? And also if there is a bubbling sound of air and no water is being supplied what does it mean ?
we've a Jetta and the water pump went at 30,000 miles. Its meant to very final plenty longer till the timing belt needs to get replaced. the reason they use plastic for the impeller is so if it fails it does not harm the timing belt. whilst the pump fails you may notcontinual the motorcar for any distance, the engine overheats, the warning lighting fixtures furnishings come on and thats it. in case you persevered tocontinual you might have the skill to desire to probably grab the engine or a minimum of blow the precise gasket and warp the precise, those engines are all aluminum and might't stand to be overheated.
