Q: I have a 1992 Geo Prizm (same as a Toyota Corolla). The battery and alternator were replaced last March. The problem is that since then the battery and brake indicator light flashes on the dashboard intermittently. Sometimes it will come on for 2 minutes and not come on again for a month. Other times it flickers for half an hour every time I am driving. It seems a lot worse in the cold weather or when the car has been sitting for days without running. Q: my friend was driving my car and after a few instances of quick acceleration, the check engine light went on. The oil dip stick had a little bit of bubbles but after putting it in and out of the slot, it looked alright. It is the 2000 Volvo V70 XC with 92K miles. Everything has been done (timing belt, water pump, tensioners/pulleys, brakes, tranny oil, engine oil, etc) except tune up i dont think has been done ( i recently bought the car). After the light went on, i drove 10 miles on the highway home and it feels perfectly fine. What could this light mean? maybe disconnecting the batery might clear it? im trying to avoid a big repair bill as i just bought the car and dont have money: A MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light) is there to warn the driver of a problem with the electronics and software management of the car. Most of the time related to emissions systems and their controls. Some cars will include computer software that allows the driver to continue to drive in a limp-mode. The problem will still be there until corrected by a qualified professional or at least in most cases. Don't know what else to say here. Sorry.

Any help would be appreciated.: Sounds like an alternator issue. You can take it off and have it tested at most auto parts stores.

Q: Hi, I attempted to switch the stock stereo system unit in my 2001 Pontiac Sunfire with a Pioneer deh-2400ub system but i cant get it to turn on! I tried wiring it manually and also with an adapter but when i plug it in and turn the car on, the system doesnt turn on! My old one still works so im thinking that maybe the new one isn‘t compatible with the 2001 sunfire. Is anyone else having this problem? P.S. i already went back and switched out the system for another one to insure that the first unit wasnt faulty. But it still doesnt work.: I know that there are some GM cars that take a computer to get the aftermarket sterio to work its a piggyback little thing, if your car has auto volume ( turns up a little when u gas it ) than you need the computer the autovolume is not very noticable youll have to check the settings on the sterio to see, if you have the monsoon system in there stock than i know you need the little computer thing. Also did you wire in the hot wire the constant wire and the ground, you need two hots and lastly just to verify would it not power up or would it not play sound
