- Q: Hey, I wanna lift my 02 Galant by 3 to 4 inches and wanna give it new wheels.Gat any suggestions on brand types? Do I need ‘lifters‘ (If that‘s what you call it) for such a small change. - i suppose it depends on who you are I would certainly be able to bend steel or lift a car but my sister would barely move it. Most, especially those who are very strong, would be able to crush a tin can to the size of a peanut which is not easily done. Chuck Norris would actually have competition and things like punching a small crater about the size of a bowling ball in concrete would be common. Thanks for the interesting question
- Q: i lifted my car yesterday with the floor jack on the desiginated lifting point of my car, but i only used 1 jack on the rear left and rear right sides to change my tires one by one. ( i first did the right side, then i went on to the left, so the car wasnt evenly lifted up on both sides, or front and back)is there a possibility that the frame could have been bent from the uneven lift?im wondering this because my auto tech teacher says that the frame for honda's are more eaisily bent than other carsi drive a 1991 honda accord
- If you lifted as described lifting from the designated point, taking the wheel high enough only to get it of the ground for removal/replace, then you will have done no damage to the car whatsoever. Dont take it up too high tho in a one-corner lift. Hope this helps. Your auto-teacher may have reasons for his thoughts, I cannot see a way honda would be weaker than some other models. They seem to make spectacular racecar/bike/car chassis. Im a Nissan Z32 man myself.

- Unibody means you cant do a body lift, but you can certainly do a suspension lift. Longer coil springs, or spring spacers. Springs are better than spacers. Depends how high you go, anything over 2 inches you need longer shocks as well. Not sure if the CV joints would handle 4 inch lift. -you can get spacers that go on top of the springs, same thing as moving the attachment point down but a lot simpler. the CV joint will handle a bit of an angle, no idea how much is too much.
- Q: first of all, the black cat superstition is true because i saw a black cat a couple days ago before this accident took place. basically i missed a turn, tried to make the turn and hit the curb pretty hard. i can stilll drive the car but the steering wheel is misaligned (its jerked towards the left). Brakes work fine, and no physical damage done to the car were done. It‘s only the steering that is problematic. How much would it cost to get it repaired, and how long would it take? - Those tires will not fit your car, to restore your cars ride height you will need to see what was used to lower it, your nearest Ford garage will have the factory correct parts (Struts and Springs) and the front steering knuckles may have been changed have the mechanics there check it over. As far as lifting the car higher i do not beleive that is possible as i have not seen lift kits for that particular car.
- Q: im trying to get the same exact tires for my car that I have right now but I cant find them in the exact size my tires are 215/45R17 but I can only find them in 235/45R17, 215/35R17, 215/55R17,will any of these sizes fit my rims??
- Then you need to change brand and/or model of tire. Screwing up your car by putting on the wrong size just because you have an irrational attachment to one particular brand/model isn't going to help anything.
