- Q: My dad‘s 1999 Nissan Maxima got some problem. It ran fine this morning. But when my dad started the car in the evening the steering wheel acts weird. The steering wheel gets turned to the right by force and when I tried to turn it back I hear a little screech from the right front wheel and feels like something is pulling it the opposite way. That was on parking position. When on reverse the become more normal but need to use some force to turn the wheel back to the correct position. Any idea on what‘s going on?
- almost sounds like you have a brake issue, maybe a brake hose has collapsed on itself. Does the car feel very sluggish? There are a few different parts in your suspension too but its hard to tell without looking at the car myself.

- Tell your instructor to refer to his or her's two-post lift manufacturer's maintenance and operating manual. How can you do any different than the equipment manufacturer specifies? The manufacturer employs the design engineers that designed the equipment and tell you how to use it correctly. No other reference authority is legitimate in my opinion once the equipment has been approved by the Government for the uses it's intended for.

- The answer to your question is not simple, you asked a broad question. Depending on what you plan on lifting, ATV's, cars, trucks, or tractor trailers this will determine what you need to lift it. If you are planning on lifting cars, then you will need two hydraulic pistons rated at, at least 1.5 - 2 tons. You would make a simpler scissor lift. But to make a traditional lift, you will need very large (tall) hydrualic pistons have approximately a 5-6' range to lift the car up enough. Also, you will need hydraulic pumps and fluid that can support the kind of load needed for these pistons. Then you will need to make a housing to encase this all in and you will need to make a lift arm mechanism. This will need to be very strong, high carbon steel since it will act as a cantilever beam. 4 arms need to be made that swivel out to support the car. I've listed a couple sites below that show them, the scissor lift would be easier to make but not as useful since the car's tires actually ride on them and usually to do any kind of maintenance, the tires need to be removed for doing the brakes, struts etc. You can buy a whole lift kit for only $1375.00. You might want to think about just buying one instead of making one.

- ONE rear side of the car? How many rear sides do cars have again? That makes me think you meant something else. If you've lifted the back half of a car, look up the weight of the model, but I doubt you lifted the rear off the ground of a 2,400 lbs car.

- that guys a moron. a creeper is not a part of a car lift. if you want, you can do what the last person said on your other question get jack stands for him, if he doesn't have them. or a hydraulic jack, or some ramps to drive the car up onto. basically anything to help him get under the car easier
