- Q: The suspension system of a 2000 kg automobile sags 9.7 cm when the chassis is placed on it. Also, the oscillation amplitude decreases by 58% each cycle. Estimate the values of (a) the spring constant k and (b) the damping constant b for the spring and shock absorber system of one wheel, assuming each wheel supports 500 kg.for a i got 20.2062 and 505514.46and for b i got 441.53 and 5829.82all are wrong, please help!
- 500 kg - 4900 N 9.7cm - 0.097 m so k F/x 4900 / 0.097 5.1 * 10 ^ 4 N/m This is NOT the same as the second answer in line 1. Firstly you are out by a power of ten and secondly you have used excessive numbers of significant figures. Note that this relies on assuming something that isn't stated. If the chassis is DROPPED on the springs it has kinetic energy and the springs would compress further than if the chassis was LOWERED GENTLY onto those same springs. I have presumed lowered gently
- Q: I own a full suspension Diamondback DBR X-Link mountain bike. I want to buy a disk breaking system for the b?
- First of all make sure your bike is compatible with a disc break system. Next be certain that this upgrade will run you a minimum of $300 regardless of the kind you purchase and if you cant put it on yourself then add another $50 or more to that. Bikes that come with disc brakes new are priced well to sell for what you get even if you get a cheaper component group. Especially hybrids and mtn bikes that are lower end and so equipped. Do not price this upgrade into the clouds and over what you paid for the bike, eg: Avid juicy ultimate. MSRP $700 fr. Keep it down to Hayes or tektro to start. Your bike probably cost about $700 or so, Is it really worth it? your breaks that you have now are sufficient for what you have. Go get some better pads first! those avid bb7s' are priced for each not $50 for the pair and they dont come w/ levers either most brake prices you see are for each brake not for the pair!
- Q: i need to buld something to hold an egg that will protect it from a 2 story drop. it has to fit in an 8 x 8 box. there cannot be any motors in the project and im not using a parachute. i was thinking i should put it into some nutella spread, bubblr wrap, a build a bear, wall plaster, or even play do you tell me your ideas it has to be easy to make. thanks in advanced :]
- like suspension system , but it in a dumping tube , fill it with heavy or viscous liquid like heavy oil or (asphaltine . it's too far) shield ur tube
- Q: do suspension systems have to be compatible?
- they certainly need to have space enough and the proper mounting points. you certainly couldnt fit the leaf spring suspension most trucks have on the rear axle into a little honda civic, even if you actually wanted to. even when talking the same setup, coil over vs coil over, there is length of suspension, both max and minimum for full travel, and weight capacity. take the honda civic suspension and put it in a full sized truck, 4x4 with even more suspension travel, and if the weight doesnt destroy the suspension the movement range will.
- Q: what does suspension do in a car? what person is in charge with overall operation of a dealership?
- suspension does several things in a car, soaks up bumps and inconsistencies in the road surface, and carries the weight of the car, its cargo, and occupants. and lastly, the person in charge at a dealership is the general manager
- Q: Is one of the advantages of being a large overweight person is that they are harder to kidnap?
- No because they can be lured in to the van with a trail of pies and chocolate
- Q: I can not find a site to lift my truck? Is it even possible since it is an awd truck? Do I have to use a lift for maybe a ranger or f-150 instead?
- Rear is simple with the solid rear axle, the front is coil springs. How much lift were you thinking about ? Look for a garage that does lifts start talking to them.
- Q: Will the school let you make up any homework, tests, etc. that you missed while you were suspended?
- They don't affect it directly, but they do make it difficult to catch up. You should be getting homework from the school, either have someone pick it up or e-mail it to you. With test, they should have a system in place to either have you take it during your suspension, or once you come back. Your best bet is to get in touch with your teachers and ask how they handle it personally. Good luck!
- Q: When formulating a suspension , is your system at the beginning floculated or defloculated and why?
- These numbered blurbs are from the references below 1) flocculate: A mass loosely formed by the aggregation of a number of fine suspended particles Aggregates destabilized particles into larger and more easily settleable masses 2) Physical Chemistry For emulsions, flocculation describes clustering of individual dispersed droplets together, whereby the individual droplets do not lose their identity.[3] Flocculation is thus the initial step leading to further aging of the emulsion (droplet coalescence and the ultimate separation of the phases). 3) de?floc?cu?late ? ?/di?fl?ky??le?t/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [dee-flok-yuh-leyt] Show IPA –verb (used with object), -lat?ed, -lat?ing. Physical Chemistry. to reduce from a flocculent state by dispersing the flocculated particles. Putting those three together, you notice you need to deflocculate the stuff you want to put into suspension (ie, break it up into smaller particles by shaking or stirring or maybe some other means) Why? Well in 2) above. it describes flocculation as the beginning of the aging of an emulsion (I think emulsion is the same as a suspension). you are talking about forming a suspension, instead of a suspension separating into its components (flocculation describes the first stage of this process) Deflocculation describes the opposite. so deflocculation is the beginning of forming a suspension.
- Q: recently my check air ride system came up on my dash. does anyone have an idea what that may intell. I am not that mechanically inclined and dont want to spend more than what is necessary to fix that problem. The car drives good but every once in a while i hear a buckling, poping sound from the bottom of the car, near the wheels.
- what you have is an air ride system and you have either a air leak or a faulty air pump. but most likely a leak in the rear air struts. ford has been making air ride from back in the fifties if you can believe that. but you need to have it checked because you will cause the pump to run to much and possibly malfunction. costing more money to fix.
