- Q: i have well water. suddenly i'm getting more pressure in my water. I have a well siofterner system. does anyone know what could be causing more pressure to come out from the water?/ thanks alot.
- too much pressure in your pressure tank bleed some air out. reset pressure.
- Q: I noticed my car was quot;in the redand was about to overheat as i was driving, so at first I thought maybe i needed more coolant. I turned off my car and heard a fan noise under my engine for like a minute then it stopped. I checked the radiator and it was empty (no coolant) so i put water in there to get to the store to buy more coolant. By the time i bought some the water was already gone (this was only like 10 min) so I put the coolant in drove home again i noticed i was overheating, i checked again and all the coolant had leaked out too..it was all gone, that QUICK! So i asked a couple of men about it, and they say it sounds like it could be a hose or either a water pump. I don't know which it is, i can't drive it anywhere b/c it keeps overheating and i don't want to get it towed for $75 just to get a new hose. So is there a way i could tell what the problem is? Thanks!
- We can't actually tell weather it's the water-pump, radiator, heater hoses, radiator hoses, heater core or clamps without a close inspection. If you're not use to laying on your back under your car held up by jack-stands, hire a private mechanic to do it for you. He will have a simple test instrument to pull off a *cooling system pressure test. A leak source will be apparent in seconds. It's a very inexpensive test also. Get her done before you burn up the motor.
- Q: Alright,I happen to be the only man in the house and the plumbing is a bit faulty. You see,the machine has been filled with water as necessary and was ignited. It sounds perfectly fine and you can feel water run through the pipes connected to it, when touched. But it's been an hour now and the taps are not producing water. Please can anyone help? - not knowing the specific system, prolly correct. pipe frozen and what you feel is just bypass/recirc. as the water has no where to go. or there's an external leak somewhere under the house? keep doing that, depending on the system, and it's condition, might burn up a pump. many different kinds of systems. for a house or motor home, usually have one that's pressure activated. that is, pressure drops as a tap is opened, regualator sees that, starts the pump running. that would be a system that employs a reservoir. probably air charged. to sense pressure drops.a nd max pressures to shut the system off. but that may not be what you have. many different configs. USAF trained hyd/pneu tech. glorified plumber i guess.

- might be bearings in the motor or could need a good cleaning and reapcking with heavy lithium grease or maybe get some kind of colloing fan or raditor system to keep it cool !

- The water pump has a gasket inside to stop coolant from leaking out. When the gasket fails, coolant comes out of what is called a weep hole. If you don't replace the water pump, the bearing gets saturated with coolant and fails. When the bearing fails, the water pump pulley ceases and the belt fails. I have seen this too many times.

- If you say that the pump is 2 feet higher you must have a hose onthe suction side of the pump it probably has a foot valve on the end of the hose it must be hung open thats why when you try to prime the the the water flows thru check to see if there is any debris holding the check valve open if there is clean it out close the valve prime with water and try to pump
