Q: It wont do any damage will it?
Don't do that!! It will kill your video card almost instantly. The 8 pin connector is meant for the motherboard (on most computers) so the 8 pin power cable will output a lot more power than the 6 pin. Your graphics card will be cooked if you do that. Too much voltage will kill your card immediately. Plus how is a 8 pin connector supposed to fit into a 6 pin port? I would be quite surprised if it can actually fit. Go and purchase a power supply with a 6 pin connector, it's for the good of your computer.
Q: I have recently decided to scrap my capacitor and need and extra two feet of power cable in order for it to reach the amp....is it possible to splice and join two power cables together or is it a better idea to rewire with a longer cord?
The only way to properly splice the cable is to solder the cable to another piece of cable the same size. The best insulator is brush on tape , just make sure whatever you choose to use, it is sufficiently wrapped. There should minimal power loss if care is taken to make the connection well. However, the best way would be to run a new cable. But considering the trouble this may pose, a quality spice may be the best choice.
Q: I have had to replace my Dell power cable a few times, got lucky the first few times with friends that had old ones they could give me, but this time I had to buy one and couldn't find a Dell brand cable (didn't bother me, they are terrible quality) Instead I found one on OKorder that named my model under the ones it would work for, and it got decent reviews.I got it a few days ago and has been working fine, but the other day when I turned it on it came up and said quot;A Dell power cord is not being recognized...and some other stuff. Now when I was watching some hulu and was readjusting the cable the screen went black and was making a quot;tickinglike sound in my headphones. The battery was fully charged, so its not like that died.So my question is... are there any dangers of using an off-brand cable? Was the hulu issue caused by the cable? Thanks!
There are many Reasons 1- your battery is dead 2- your battery is not connected 3- if you can work with your laptop when you plug in the charger your charger is valid otherwise check the cable check power cord in other laptop If battery charge Then problem In Your laptop battery You have to replace it
Q: I have a usb powered cup warmer. It has a car adaptor. I would like to know if its possible to use it to charge my cellphone in the car, instead of buying a car adaptor.
The max power you can draw from a USB port is 2.5W (500 mA at 5V)
Q: I installed a new Power supply after my old one stopped working. I bought a Thermaltake TR2 500W. I connected everything that needed to be connected but it would not turn on. Then i disconnected the 4pin cable that goes to the motherboard, and it turned on. But my monitor didn't detect anything so it just went into quot;sleep modequot;. So every time i connect the 4 pin PCI-E connection to the motherboard it just doesn't turn on. Please help
You might have a DOA power supply or motherboard. It might just have problems with the connections. Sounds like the problem is the motherboard if 2 power supplies dont work on it. I would consider getting a new motherboard.
Q: my friend has a dell that has a btx mobo. the power supply looks like all the other power supplys. will getting a regular power cord at radio shack fit and work with the dell power supplys. the cables that come out of the supply are all the same as usual ones.
if it's a laptop most dell models use the same. desktops they all use the same.
Q: YJV-0.6 / 1KV-5x16 What does it mean? What does it mean? 1KV refers to what? 5 if it means 5 core, which 5 core refers to a 16mm2 cable has 5 core?
Why did not you take this time when you were installed or that it was only a detour
Q: What are the cycles and requirements of the experimental project of the power cable experiment?
In addition to considering the security issues, there is no problem, you can use this, there is no impact on the charging situation, rest assured
Q: I need a cable to connect my SATA hard drive to my computer's motherboard (which already has the SATA ports). Is this the correct cable:
Yes that is the correct cable that plugs into the motherboard SATA ports. Regarding the power cable. Some SATA drives have both the old style 4-pin power connector (like on the IDE drives) as well as the newer SATA power cable. If it has both, DO NOT plug both in at the same time or it can damage your PC. You can use one or the other but not both.
Q: i hooked up all my 4 gauge power ground cable from the batteries of my truck i passed both of them thru the fire wall but what i was wondering is will i have a problem since its the power ground coming thru the same hole thru the fire wall or will i be all good ? somebodyy help
Make sure the edges of the hole aren't sharp or rough, to prevent the wire insulation being damaged. Usually, the ground wire on the amp is mounted to nearby metal instead of running a line all the way to the engine. Then, you can beef up the wire from the battery to frame in the engine compartment if necessary.
