- Q:I have a usb hub that is externally powered that stays on 24/7 even when i shut my computer off. It is buried behind by desk so removing the usb power supply manually each time is what im trying to avoid. Is there anyway i can put a switch in the power cable going to it?
- Before you attempt this, make sure you have the following items: -Wire strippers -Electrical tape -Two terminal switch -Scissors IMPORTANT! make sure that the cable is unplugged from the computer and the hub before you do this! 1st, cut the cord halfway with the scissors. Next, remove the outer wire insulation from the two new ends you just cut with the wire strippers. Now strip the small colored wires that are now exposed. Then connect the red wire from one half of the cord to a terminal on the switch. Do the same with the other red wire from the other half of the cord and connect it to the other terminal on the switch. Strip the other small wires and connect them back to their appropriate colored wire. Finally, wrap each wire individually with electrical tape, then wrap the entire gap in the cord with it. Now plug the cord in and try it out!
- Q:when the power cable comes out, the laptop turns off simple as that! it wont work unless the power cable is plugged in and turned on, and its not that the battery is flat because i had it charging all day.so does this mean the battery is broken?if so what do i need to do?? any help will be greatly appreciated!!
- Recharge the battery without using the computer at the same time. If this doesn't work you need a new battery and, obviously, someone to do the technical work. Try the geek squad at CircuitCity. It may cost you a little bit but they should be able to fix it or tell you if there is anything else that can be done.

- The cables have some few steel wires for strength, and many aluminum ones to carry the current. THey use aluminum instead of copper because it is a lot cheaper and much lighter.
- Q:I had bought a new stereo for my Dodge Neon, had installed it, and everything worked great for a couple days. Later my stereo was no longer getting power, I took it out to try to find out the problem. The power cable from the battery to the stereo is no longer intact. The little metal pin in the middle(no, I don't know exactly what it's called) broke off! I have no idea how, or even where it is, all I know is that it's gone and I don't know what to do! Is this a replaceable car part? If so, where do I find a new part, or where would I take my car to get the best help and possible answers? - the cables are not a life and run away from the dash , that never happends, and if the cable is there its not broken the power comes from the ignition switch not the battery , so you have a bad fuse or bad ignition switch most likely it is only a fuse, did you know there are 2 boxes ? check both

- They do NOT fray like that without careless handling, which is NOT covered on warranty.

- dont send anything but the xbox! take out the hard drive all memory cards wireless and all wires before you send it back if you send anything else to microsoft they will not send it back they only send you back an xbox without a hard drive and a month of free xbox live no matter what you send them.

- High input cable ...? Not really sure what that is, Also, that power supply is junk. 750W and it only has a single 6-pin PCI? That's sad. Good 750W power supplies are at least ?70 and have four 6-pin PCI cables. Heck, a good 430W costs more than that and it's guaranteed to perform better.
- Q:My ac jack is screwed up and I can't plug in the ac adapter. I have heard that there is a power cable that will plug into one of the other ports on the side of the computer to, but I don't know where to find one or what they are called. Also, I have heard there are a million problems with the R3000 - and some can be fixed by taking it apart. I do NOT want to do this. I just need an alternative power cable. The laptop works perfect - if it had power. Thanks in advance. :)
