- Q: I have just bought a pair of Yamaha HS50m monitors, connected only the power cable, switched them both on, and they are both making a noticeable constant hissing noise?Is this normal? - Look for where the factory wire harness goes through. there's usually enough room to cut or drill a whole and pass your power wire through. If not, you'll have to make your own hole in a safe place.
- Q: high effency double shielded transmission power cable?
- What is your question? Does such a cable exist? Probably but you'll have to be more specific. High efficiency = low loss or low resistance per foot? Double shielded = is the shielding (in dB) critical? Transmission = What frequency, 60 Hz, 1 MHz, 100 MHz, ? Power = Watts, KW, MW Is weight or cost important?
- Q: I don't want to run it under the car, but I can't find a place to run it through the firewall... Do I need to drill a hole?
- I think you need to look at what ever is going through the fire wall first. often you will find things like speedo cables and other cables that go through it using a grommet, if they is a 8mm plus one used you could puch your power cable through the same grommet, this will save the drilling but if you do have to drill use a grommet to seal the hole, it costs only cents.

- The power cable? Power cables don't come with the graphics card, they come with the power supply. Maybe you mean the cord that connects to your monitor? Common ones are DVI, VGA, and HDMI.

- Either find a rubber boot with enough space through it (where your steering column goes through), or drill a hole and use the grommet that comes with your Amp Install kit. If you choose to drill, MAKE SURE you have enough clearance on both sides.

- Q: One of my ottocinclus is munching on a little brown algae that's on the aquarium heater's power cable. Not dangerous, I guess? I don't think they can actually bite through it and expose the wire...?
- No problem, it's just scraping the algae off. Might get though the cable itself in couple of 100 years or so, so nothing to worry about. Ian
