Q:I need 600W of power for my new computer, but all I have is 2 300W, 20-pin power supplies. What I'm wondering is if I can combine the 2 20-pin connectors and turn them into 1 24-pin connector?: relies upon on the producer are you advantageous its basically 20 pin as some 4 pin connectors grasp freely so how many different 4 clusters do you have you will desire to have 2 one million of those would be the different connector you go with except its an exceptionally very very old cheappy PSU inwhich case replace it they ordinary and much less costly 30 bux

Ok, as for the power supply questions: Peak power is the maximum amount of power the unit can supply for a short period of time (a few seconds at most). A computer, during start-up, will use quite a bit more power than once it has achieved steady state. This is because drives have to spin up, semiconductors have to power up, etc. Once everything is up and running, the power draw drops to nominal or steady-state Sustained power is the amount of power the unit can supply non-stop. When purchasing a power supply, always give yourself leeway. If a supply indicates it is 650 watts sustained and 80% efficient (gotta look at that efficiency!) then it can supply 520 watts of power continuously. Even at that, I wouldn't want to run it past 450 - 475 watts continuously. 12v DC is the high rail on a power supply. Different parts of the computer require different voltages to operate. Drive motors typically need the 12v DC, where as memory needs less than 3 volts. A computer power supply has different rails or supply wires which supply the following voltages: +12 volts DC, +5 volts DC, and +3 volts DC (there are some others but those are the key ones). I don't know what the power requirements are for an Xbox 360, but it obviously needs the 12 volt and 5 volt DC rails to power it. Anyway, the power supply you've listed above is more than adequate.

The power light may 'light', but if there is no CPU function, no power is going through the CPU. Probably a bad PSU (Power Supply Unit). Change it (cheap).

Q:Hi there - I had a Mr Bean moment when hooking up my DVR and camera during a house renovation project. Basically, I put the cables the wrong way around so that the ends that go in to the DVR are with the camera and the ends that are meant to be connected to the camera are with the DVR.: Yellow is video White is audio You can swap those if you want because they are just wires. The colors are so that we humans can hook them up. I am assuming that the red can't be plugged into the wrong port.
