- Q:And would this increase my reception
- No, it won't hurt anything and it won't increase reception. Get a big old whip antenna.
- Q:my laptop keeep on saying installing lite on camera crystal eye and it and put implug power cable and i dontt no what one is so what is a power cable pleasssse help ?
- A power cable is an assembly of two or more electrical conductors, usually held together with an overall sheath. The assembly is used for transmission of electrical power. Power cables may be installed as permanent wiring within buildings, buried in the ground, run overhead, or exposed.
- Q:I want an external that can just be powered by a USB cable what is the largest size hdd I can get and where can I get one?
- Found this 1 TB one in the Western Digital Passport series. Link below:
- Q:I just plugged a 300V power cable into power supply that accepts 115-240V then turned on the power supply. The power supply was not connected to the motherboard. I don't have another cable so I can't really check if its still working nor do I want to try again with the 300V cord if it can potentially cause damage.
- Where did you get a 300V power source? Why would you plug a 115-240V power supply into it? Didn't you need some sort of adapter to plug a pc power cord into 300 volts? Or was it just an ordinary power cord with 300V stamped on it? If that was the case, that would be the maximum safe voltage for the cord.
- Q:I bought a Garmin GPS, but my cigarette lighter is near my gear shift. Does anyone know how to add a power cable so the cable is behind the gps on the window?. I can always take it somewhere for about $100.
- As you say, take it so it is professionally done. Working on cars is very complex and requires an expert. Always best to seek a professional. Also always it is require to capitalize the acronyms of titles. Please capitalize GPS 100% of the time.
- Q:It is a Gateway Desktop AMD Athlon 64X2 4200, 2048 DDR2, running Win XP Media center edition with Update Rollup 2. It first started when I put it in quot;stand-bymode and the computer refused to wake up. It has now gotten so bad I have to unplug the power several times with waiting periods in-between, before it will start up. I don't know much about computers but have been reading and trying different set-ups as I read about possible causes. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate.
- its a dodgey PSU....get a new 1...( or take it to a shop and get it fitted if u dont know what ur doing)
- Q:If you submerss the metal end of any kind of power cable like an extension cord in water will it work again?
- It will if dried out over night. Placing it in direct sunlight will dry it faster. A hand held hair blower/dryer will work the best. Never use a wet cord for anything! This could lead to electric shock and/or death!
- Q:i am hooking up my system tomorow and im really not sure where to drill a hole in the firewall to run my 4 AWG cable any suggestions any pictures would be helpful thanks!
- Check first for any factory made holes that are not in use or have extra space to be used. If you are explorer is anything like my Taurus I would say somewhere near where your steering wheel connects to the firewall. But it will be kinda risky around that area since you would have to be careful for your power steering.
- Q:I dont understand what it says about Peak and sustained power, also the cable says it needs 12v DC, and the power supply gives 650 watts. I don't understand any of this, can someone please explain this to me, and if this power supply doesn't work, please give me examples of ones that will work. Longest answer will get best answer. Thanks!
- That Xbox power supply cable is pretty cool! I've never seen those before. Ok, as for the power supply questions: Peak power is the maximum amount of power the unit can supply for a short period of time (a few seconds at most). A computer, during start-up, will use quite a bit more power than once it has achieved steady state. This is because drives have to spin up, semiconductors have to power up, etc. Once everything is up and running, the power draw drops to nominal or steady-state Sustained power is the amount of power the unit can supply non-stop. When purchasing a power supply, always give yourself leeway. If a supply indicates it is 650 watts sustained and 80% efficient (gotta look at that efficiency!) then it can supply 520 watts of power continuously. Even at that, I wouldn't want to run it past 450 - 475 watts continuously. 12v DC is the high rail on a power supply. Different parts of the computer require different voltages to operate. Drive motors typically need the 12v DC, where as memory needs less than 3 volts. A computer power supply has different rails or supply wires which supply the following voltages: +12 volts DC, +5 volts DC, and +3 volts DC (there are some others but those are the key ones). I don't know what the power requirements are for an Xbox 360, but it obviously needs the 12 volt and 5 volt DC rails to power it. Anyway, the power supply you've listed above is more than adequate.
- Q:I got a Alienware m15x about a year ago, and about 8 months ago on startup it would make two incredibly loud beeps and a screen would show saying 'your charger cable is not the reccomended 150w originally shipped', even thought it is. It would only happen very rarely at first, but now its nearly every time. I don't mind just ignoring it, but if there is a quick fix it would be nice.
