- Q:everything was working great! and then i blew the main fuse! i replaced it everything was fine after that but then out of nowhere i only have power in half of the power cable connected to the amp!! What can i do??
- Not sure what power in half the power cable means. Are you saying (for example) you have a 6 foot power cable coming off the battery to the amp and only 3 feet has power and the other 3 feet doesn't? I would isolate the power wire from start to finish. I would bypass the power wire by running an external wire from the battery terminal to the amp. Basically, disconnect the old power wire from the battery (or source of power) and amp. Then run a temporary wire from the battery to the amp. If everything works then something is wrong with the original power wire.
- Q:what do ferrite beads do on power and audio/speaker cables do and is is it worth buying some and fitting them to reduce interference?or are they just as pointless as monster hdmi cables?thanks!.
- Couldn't find a quantitative discussion of how effective they are, but according to this wikipedia article they are needed for a device to obtain FCC class B certification.
- Q:I ordered this recently only to find that it was just the HDD, no cords whatsoever. I've never had to buy cables for an HDD before, and I'm especially not used to SATA (I didn't make the jump from IDE to SATA until this year.)
- You will need to buy a data transfer cable to connect to the hard drive at one end and onto your motherboard at the other end to carry data to and from the hard drive to your computer. The cable is simply called a SATA cable and they are about 18 inches long or so. They are usually either red, orange, blue or yellow in colour and they are about half an inch wide or so. You can buy them from your local computer store for about $ 4.00 or so Canadian. They do however come with your motherboard (you usually get two of them included in the box when you buy it). For the power end of it you will need to find an empty non-connected Molex connector coming from your power supply unit in the computer. Just simply connect this Molex power supply cable to the hard drive at the back of it where indicated. That is all there is to it. Good luck
- Q:I just bought a new motherboard and it had a 24 pin power thingy, my power supply was only a 20 pin. After looking at my manual it said I was able to do that if I aligned them a specific way. After that PC turns on, the lights turn on, hard drives turn on, and everything else. the thing is the screen stays black and says no signal.I was looking on the motherboard and there is a 4 pin ATX12V1, but there is no such cable that comes out of my power supply. I think the reason the screen stays blank is because it said that was used to power the CPU. What can I do since I do not have a ATX12V1 cable that connects to my motherboard? The only cables that come out of my pwr supply are for the IDE and floppy.
- If okorder /
- Q:Is the ribbon cable the data cable and the wires the power cables?
- Data okorder /
- Q:I'm going to be running 1/0 gauge power wire in my car. My amp only accepts 4 gauge. Is it better to run 1 the whole way through and use power cable adaptors to fit the amp or run the 1 gauge into a distribution block that sizes the output wire down to a 4?
- either way is fine unless your total system power will exceed 3000 watts....otherwise it would be cheaper and just as good to just run the 4 all the way from the battery and use the 1/0 gauge for your big three upgrade should you be exceeding 1000 watts
- Q:I don't know what to do. I bought a monitor from someone on OKorder over a month ago. He said the person who packaged the monitor accidentally put my cables in the box with another monitor he sold to someone else. For a month now he's been quot;trying to find a solution. He said he looked at electronics stores, but never found anything. I already paid a lot for the monitor, and can't afford to buy the cables again. (because I already bought them with the monitor from this guy...)WHAT CAN I DO?
- You can't really do anything. OKorder is full of scammers, and you just got scammed. Next time go big or go home, because this time you were sent home.
- Q:Power cable 5-color line, respectively, what color, what role?
- YJ: XLPE insulation V: PVC sheathed 22: steel tape armor 8.7 / 15KV: rated voltage: 8.7 / 15 kV (phase voltage 8.7 = 15 / 1.. line voltage 15kV) 3 * 300: Three conductor cross-section of 300 square copper conductor Another: If YJLV is the aluminum core. Here is not marked what the material is conductor, you can default to copper conductor.
- Q:ok ive been having amp trouble lately. it wont turn on. ive figured the problem today when i got the voltage tester out. I have me Remote Turn On working. My ground is solid.RCAs connected properly.NO fuses are blown. ive checked all of them; 30 amp fuse for AMP, Max fuse under the hood, fuse relay center under the hood too, all good. connection from the power terminal is solid. heres what happened: i decided to move my amp and run the wires under the door sills because i needed more space. so i just had the car off and i disconnected my remote, power, and rcas. i left the ground because that didnt need to be moved.i dropped the power wire and it hit a seatbelt thing, and it sparked once. but not big.nothing blew, but now it seems like my power wire isnt working, my amp wont turn on-keep in mind my amp was not touched by the spark in any way.
- that's odd. a power wire is way too big to burn and lose conductivity. no way, not on car amperage. u can look up any manufacturer dealer authorized electronics shop, or any electronics shop and have them bench test the amp to be safe. My guess is the conductivity of the power wire is compromised. look at the battery terminal connections, remove and clean them. maybe burnt. this is odd. seriously I installed many systems and I have sparked and no issues. also shorted battery ( i doubt) and as the man above says, main fuse / relay
- Q:I dont get any power to my amp. If something is pinching the line could that make it not get any power? Or could there be something else wrong?
- i would also check ur ground wire.no power means 2 things power wire not secure or the ground is not connected right
