Q: Right now, the cables behind my audio receiver are tangled beyond recognition. I need to organize them...How should I bundle my speaker wire to minimize RF and EM interference? I've heard that a quot;8-shapedbundle is good.Is there any truth to this claim? If so, explain. Thanks in advance!
any cable with an electrical current passing through will create an electromagnetic field. however when you bundle them in a single loop, because the currents are going in the same direction they will resemble a very big cable with a lot of current, so the magnetic field will be much larger (this is in part how an electric motor works). the best way to avoid this would be to remove excess cable so there would be no need to have loops. Really i'm not convinced about the benefits of having the cable in a figure 8 pattern, because it's just like having two loops really. i would try to avoid loops, or at least keep them away from the actual hifi and the speakers. generally components in your hifi and speakers will be magnetically shielded, to prevent any interference like that, however if you hear a buzzing noise when your mobile phone is near, than it's possible they're not shielded, as your mobile phone is a source of electromagnetic interference. if you're worried about electromagnetic interference it is also worth noting that wifi routers, mobile and cordless phones and microwaves are all sources of electromagnetic radiation. hope that all helps
Q: i have a 600w rms and a 300w rms amp the 600w amp has an 80a fuse and the 300w has two 25a fuses right now i have two seperate power cable for each amp going to the battery the inline fuse for the 600w amp is 100a and the inline fuse for the 300w amp is 50a (i need to swich to a 60a i know) they both have 8awg power cables 100a amps is about all a n 8 awg can handle so what i want to do is run a single zero guage cable to the firewall than on the inside of the vehicle have a distribution block what i need to know is -what guage wire should i use for the power wire at the battery-what size fuses to use and how many-the locations i should put the fusesthanks i pick best answers fast
i would use 4ga. wire at the battery with a 120 curcuit breaker about 12-18 inches from the batery then 6-8 gauge off the dist.box to the amps
Q: Okay after installing Deus Ex on a brand new PS3 slim I pressed the start button and when the screen went black the console hanged, I couldn't even press the PS button, at the suggestion of a friend I yanked the power cable. Now it works fine but I'm wary of putting Deus Ex back in, I doubt that its regioning since there's no such thing. Any ideas and troubleshooting solutions?BTW what are the consequences to yanking the power cable.
I don't think its the game cause I mine hangs to and I don't even have Deus Ex. pulling the Power cord ain't really a good idea it can lead to some issues
Q: Do you need to use both the 6 pin PCI-E power cable and the 8 pin PCI-E power cable on a video card? Why are they used? To give power to the video card if needed? Seems like the motherboard gives the card power as well?
if the graphics card has an 6-pin power connector and an 8-pin connector then u need to use the 6-pin and the 8-pin power cable from your power supply.most power supplies (especially those that supply 500 watts of power to your cpu and all the peripherals) in the market right now have at least one connector for each type (6-pin and 8-pin).usually the most high-end power supplies now (like the Ultra X4 series) have more than 1 for each type.right now the most high-end power supplies from my perspective is the 1600W power supply from the Ultra X4 series.it has 3 6-pin power connectors and 3 for the 8-pin power connector. and ya the 6- and 8-pin power connector is the bridge for the power supply to transport power to the component. nope.the motherboard is a selfish guy.it doesnt give power to the graphics card unless the graphics card doesn't take a lot of wattage to work then the motherboard will donate power to the graphics card.
Q: What type of power cable does the ps3 take? I found a very good deal on craigslist, but it doesnt come with a power cord. Does ps3 take the standard 3 prong cable, like xbox 360? Or is it a special kind? And do all of the versions of ps3 take the same kind?
My PS3 slim does not use the standard 3-prong power cord. However, Googling for images of PS3 power cords, it shows the standard 3-prong. So the answer yes or no.
Q: While DISCONNECTED from the amp, I accidentally touched the power cable with the ground cable. Sparks went flying and I smelt a funny odor. Since then, when I go to turn on my radio, my amp only lights up for a second and then looses power. Unfortunately, I feel I've fried my ground wire (upon close inspection, the power/battery cables fuse is still good along with amp signal wire and RCA's) My question is simply this: When replacing my ground wire, can I use left over power/battery cable? I have about 3 feet left over from the install. Thank you for your help!!
Theoretically, yes. I would make sure I was the only one using the system or messing around with it just to make sure no one mistakes it for a power cord. Also, wrapping each end with black electrical tape will work to identify it is a ground cable, being that black is universally known for ground. If you feel like wasting good money, wrap the whole cord with black electrical tape. Also, keep it away from professional installers so they do not mix it up, or just let them know it is a ground. Just keep it short enough so that it actually works as a ground (most manuals recommend less than 3 feet)
Q: Hello,We are having a problem with our power cable and that being that most time whenever we insert the power cable into the back of the laptop the orange light at the front of the laptop does not always light up. We think the problem lays with the power cable, because it has been tugged and dropped before on many occasion. So, is it possible to buy a power cable for our Toshiba laptop, and we have retained the sticker. We think that the Toshiba part no is PA3396E-1ACA and the model no is PA-1650-02.So is it possible to buy a new power cable?
Try Toshiba website click on accessories... or ask customer services where you can get one from
Q: I'm trying to plan out my new install and I'm debating whether or not to spend money on power cable adapters and run o gauge to a distribution block thats 0g in and 4g out, therefore running a 0 to 4g cable adapter inbetween every terminal on the distribution block --or-- to Instead run 0 to the distribution block and 4 from the block to everything. I have a 1200RMS sub amp and a 200RMS 4-Channel amp. Hi output alternator. Big 3. So if anyone can give me some advice on whether or not they're worth the money that would be awesome. Oh and my amps accept 4 gauge.
back interior the day while audio electronics grew to become into evolving from monophonic sound to stereophonic sound, manufacturers of stereo audio electronics unique the left channel enter for monophonic sound (in case you purely had one enter) and, if there grew to become into no longer something plugged into the final enter jack, the monophonic sound grew to become into dispensed to the two left and precise inputs. on the grounds that mono is fantastically uncommon at present, i don't be attentive to if this remains accepted on stereo inputs (alongside with powered subwoofers), yet you're able to attempt it. If it relatively is no longer the case (plugging it into the left enter purely is going interior the direction of the left amplifier), no remember in case you chop up the sign or no longer is in fact a wash. A subwoofer has 2 voice coils on the motive force, one powered by making use of the left enter and the different powered by making use of the final enter. in case you purely have, say, the left enter plugged in, you're purely using the subwoofer with the left amplifier and voice coil. in case you chop up it, you're actually using the two voice coils. yet, the chop up itself cuts the sign point in 0.5. So, you have 0.5 as plenty sign enter to each amplifier and the output quantity of the subwoofer is not any diverse than purely plugging in one enter. one factor you need to do is to get a small, affordable stereo amp or receiver, plug the LFE output into one enter, set the amplifier mode to mono, and run the two line outputs to the subwoofer. that should offer you 2 finished line point inputs to the subwoofer from the single LFE cable.
Q: The power supply I have has 8 Peripheral cables. I need just a few more than that. Is there a cable splitter I can get? Or what can I do? I have the power, just need the extra connectors.
Yeah, okorder /
Q: My pc don?t start, power cable and all other cables are connected correctly. Any body help me and guide me?
Before okorder /... Replacing the Power supply is pretty straight forward.... just undo the screws at the back of the casing, and it slips out from inside. Put the new one where you took the old one out, and swap the leads over (matching like for like). One thing I have noticed both times I've fitted a Power Supply is that the screw holes in the back of the Power Supply never, ever line-up properly with the screw holes for it in the back of the PC Casing........ found the trick to doing it is to loose fit the screws first (might need to go in at an angle), then tighten them all up and it'll line up properly like it's supposed to.
