Q: Also why is it called quot;phantompower? Don't you think there should be a seperate category for technical questions about music!!?
Yes, you can use regular XLR cables for microphones that require phantom power. The only reason why some microphones require phantom power is because they require extra voltage flowing through the XLR cable. Condenser mics are the most commonly used mics that require phantom power, mainly because of the way the diaphram picks up sound (condenser mics pic up sound in a narrower area around the mic, yet can pick up distant sounds somewhat better). It earned the name phantom because it is invisible to other balanced (non-condensing, etc.) mics that don't need the extra power. A tech section would make it easier on most of us, because most of the important questions get lost in the typical whuz you're fav song or need lyrics plz questions that flood the section.
Q: It wont do any damage will it?
yes you can and it will be fine, my 8 pin connectors had clips on the end so i could remove 2 pins and use it as a 6 pin...
Q: all my cables are pluged in but i have no power to printer lexmarkz43
Make sure all the power cable connections are tight first. Often where the power cable connects to the back of the printer, the cable can come loose. If all connections are tight, your power cable could possibly be bad, but as well so could the power supply of your printer.
Q: What is the heat of the cross-linked cable?
Video cable refers to the transmission of video signals (VIDEO) cable, can be used as a monitoring system for signal transmission
Q: I live in the Arizona desert, on a flood plain. Most of the time things are pretty dry. But during monsoon season the area I live in experiences flooding. I am planning a shallow, square, sunken pond. The main pond will be 4.10' L x 4.11' W x 3' deep. I plan to build an 8wide wall around the pond to keep out flood water. The wall will be made of standard red bricks. I plan to make the wall 2-3 bricks high. This would make the wall itself around 5-7 inches tall. The foundation for the wall will be concrete. Do I need a waterproof concrete sealant for the foundation? I plan on installing a power cable for my submersible filter between the EPDM liner I plan to use, and the mortar for my brick wall. Should I use sand between the mortar and the cable to protect the cable from the mortar? The cable will be encased in PVC as well.Thank you.
You should use a concrete sealant, it can't hurt. Put the cable under the foundation in PVC and it will be fine.
Q: Hello, I am looking to purchase a single power connector for 5 hard drives. I have a modular 1200W power supply, and all i can find on website is these single power connecters that do not even look like they will connect to my power supply. My computer came with power connectors for 4 hard drives in single cables. I do not want to waste another Power supply slot for just 1 more hard drive. Can anybody tell me how to search for this? Thank you.
I do not want to waste another Power supply slot for just 1 more hard drive. That's what they're there for.
Q: Does anyone know if this PSU comes with a power cord/cable? I can't find an answer for this.
Psus usually come with one, if not the cable is universal and is dirt cheap
Q: Cable model NHYJV3 * 25 + 2 * 16 what is its name should be ah?
Low-voltage cables generally require less fixation. High and low pressure common ground is in the line when the clamp must be fixed. Do you say that the clip is put there?
Q: where can i put my amp power cable through my bulk head in my 1999 1.8L 16 valve ford mondeo lx?
Find the main harness going through the fire wall and follow it
Q: I am getting a new gaming computer for Christmas with a 700 watt, 12.5 AMP (I think) power supply. I have two power cords for computers on my shelf, but my dad is worried that a standard power cable won't properly power my computer. Do I need to get a more powerful cable? If so, please send a link to where I can buy one, I have been searching but only found standard ones. Thank you.
To point out some erros in the above posts, it's important to realize that the power rating you provided is a realistic one. 700W is telling me that's probably the normal operating wattage, but 12.5A is possible during startup of the unit. This rating is important, as the cables and wires within the extension cables or power bar must be able to support this current, even if momentary. Power bars will all have a set amperage rating that needs to be clearly listed on the unit in order to be legally sold in Canada. Check the rated voltage of your cables to ensure your power bar can support your machine. At 12.5A you are dangerously close to the circuit max of 15A. The standard house circuit is typically rated between 15 and 20A. This means that if you were to plug in your computer, speakers, and an second monitor you are seriously risking tripping your circuit breaker for that circuit in your house. Every plug in your home is not on it's own circuit either. Typically one or two rooms worth of power receptacles will share one circuit. Be careful and pay close attention to your power consumption on that circuit. Power loss is as harmfull and in some cases MORE harmful than power surge. Largely because there is no protection agains sudden voltage drop like there is for voltage surge. They both do essentially the same thing to your computer -- fry it.
